I would just like to hear some people's view on him. What do people here think of him. For me personally I really like him. He has some sdick looking moves, he plays the monster character well and has the look and he takes his share of bumps. So what do people think of the monster Abyss.

There's only so much you can do with a guy like Abyss, but for what they're using him for now he's OK. Without the gimmick he's useless, as that's whats really keeping him over. I think if they're ever at some point going to seriously push him, it'd be good for him to have a manager.

Basically what Kayfabeman said. He's just another minimally talented hoss, but his gimmick makes him watchable.

Is that a Rock Bottom or a Big Show-esque chokeslam he uses for a finisher sometimes?

Black Hole Slam :y:

It's more like a Boss Man Slam/Trash Compactor type move, I thought.

I like Abyss a lot. He moves pretty well for a guy his size, and the Black Hole Slam and that sit-out backbreaker are both brutal-looking.

I agree that he should have a manager, but I think he's better off without Goldylocks. I don't really get the appeal behind Goldy. I think Abyss would be better if he wound up working with, say, Raven as an associate. That way Raven could do the talking and Abyss could just crush whatever gets put in his way.

I  Abyss

IMO, he's the best big man wrestler out there, followed closely by Kane.

He looks too much like Mankind for my liking.

this is his bio of the TNA website:

One of the most imposing superstars ever to step into the TNA ring, little is known about this maniacal masked superstar. His finishing moves are arguably the most impressive in TNA, a Falling Backbreaker which sets up the "Black Hole" sidewalk slam. Without a doubt, this monster is primed for bigger success in TNA in the coming months, as he is now managed by the maniacal Goldylocks!

He's really ugly without that mask as well, unlike Mick Foley.

For some reason i was expecting a 400lb fatass. The name abyss sorta insinuates that i think.

No it doesn't, in fact he should be a rake or something else as skinny. Mankind however does not insinuate anything.

With that hair you could almost put kanes old mask on him and have the old kane from a couple of years ago.

He's basically Kane from 1997 so whatever.

I kinda like the Abyss character. He seems to have some personality in that he doesn't act like Kane (besides that he has that look) though it seems more like ManKind. His finishers are very brutal and he's got some skill but when that gimmick is done, what else can they do with a big guy?

Mackem is right, he's ugly as fuck without the mask - and quite lame looking, so there goes the thought of taking him seriously without the damn thing. The gimmick will eve-ntually fizzle out, and then he's left with nothing. Also, he may want to quit abusing a few of those not so legal items.

As for his moves and such, they only look brutal because they're sold that way by the 1,000 job guys TNA uses to put him over on. With this character's logic: if you make him unbeatable, then there's no logical reason he shouldn't be Champion, and if you have him lose, then it takes away from the idea of him being a monster. After winning, winning, winning, it gets tiring.
