Fact because like it or not, Baseball is driven by TV revenue which is driven by big market teams and "stories" such as the Bos/NY rivalry and the "Curse".

While Anihiem, or Minnesota may have good teams and Minnesota is a great story of a team that isn't really "big market" yet still competes w/o whoring itself the way Oakland has to, it won't get people to tune in.

Bos/NY has the teams, the markets, the stories and the big names... Schil, Martinez, Rameriz, A-rod, Jeter, etc... Stienbrenner.

Babe, Murderers row, Williams, Yaz... etc... etc...

The question is, if the sox make it, what will make a better WS... STL has the team to beat... but the return of Bagwell, who the sox delt away for a setup guy to help get them to their last WS and of course Clemens... now part of the story is gone w/o Pettite and Jimmy Williams but would still be a fun story... Curt vs. Clemens, especially when Curt credits Clemens for turning his career around.

Fiction

Red Sox/Twins

Personally I think the Sox/Twins would be a better series, but you can't argue with the marketability of Sox/Yanks.

Fact

Despite my numerous heart attacks last year during the ALCS, and my blind rage towards Johhny Damon (aaaahhhhhhhh cut your fucking hair, hippie), I think it's the best thing for baseball. It could cap off an already storied season with the fights between these two teams, Bonds making the 700 club, and Ichiro's hit record.

Fact. Despite the fact that I hate both teams(go Blue Jays!) It'll draw the fans, and be the most exciting.

Fact. Case in point? Look at last year.

Oh, and Innovator, I think that's supposed to be the Sox good luck charm or something. Pedro and Damon going for the Bohemian look.

The only problem is that it dampens down the World Series. After the ALCS the World Series was boring last year. Its how the NBA Finals used to be when the Lakers and Kings met in the Western Finals.

Yeah, that's another one hurt somewhat w/o pettite... Clemens and Pettite come back to the big apple to keep the Yanks from another ring...

That would have been fun to watch too...

It'll definitely be interesting when/if the Yankees and Astros meet

Fact: No shit everyone wants to see the Yankees and Red Soxs. I mean looked what happened earlier this year with A-Rod and last year with Zim and the whole fight thing. That is what baseball needs.

FACT

It's the best rivalry in all of professional sports, the teams and cities literally hate each other, and the ratings will be off the charts

I would rather sit back and watch the Royals and Blue Jays play to a 1-0 game with the Miz though.
