I am not sure if the Red Sox have ever actaully beaten the Yankees in the playoffs, I don't think they have. I don't really think they have played each other that many times in the playoffs though. Because before the Wildcard(which hasn't been around for that long) The Sox and Yankees couldn't be in the playoffs on the same year.

I dunno why you would randomly ask this now though, its not like the Sox just lost to the Yankees in the playoffs or something. Seems like you "after" something else here

If you took five seconds to look around, there is a MLB Post Season Topic, a Red Soxxxxxxx topic, and Fact of Fiction: The Yankee's/Red Sox would be the best ALCS.
