Well Triple H, the man who is claimed to be the best wrestler ever...(doubtful) scored a disapointing 81, while I am a little upset with this score, what done is done, there is no going back, he has made alot of people mad with his buring of talent...so low scores were understandable....

Overness: 10

The Guy almost single-handedly, carried the WWE thru the Attitude Era, which help from the Rock, D-Generation X, and his imfamous fued with Vince McMahon..and became the most well known Wrestler in the Era, since the days of Hulk Hogan

Ring Talent: 9.5

The Guy had Talent, I know alot of you think he's matches were, mostly, Stomp, Kick, Punch, Taunting Elbow....Stunner, but he actually did alot more then that on PPV Matches....He pulled great matches with The Rock, Triple H, Mick Foley, Owen Hart, British Bulldog, Bret Hart...of course, thoses guy can carry matches on there own as well....but are we going to hold that against him? Well I dunno about you guy, but I know I'm not.

Workrate: 7

This would of been alot higher, but later in his career, (Invasion Days) he seemed very sloppy and didn't look like he was putting forth a full effect except for Pay Per View Matches, but that's just my opinion.

Finisher: 9

The Most well known and now proberly overused move in the World, The Stone Cold Stunner, Austin pulled it off with such greatness and made it look awesome....there is only one guy I know who can pull them off as well as Austin and that's guy's name is Mikey....

Archivement: 10

Austin done it all, Do I really need to go into details?

Charisma: 10

The guy is very confident on the mic, and is very entertaining.

Potential: 10

The Guy is proberly going to always have the potential to be a big name, whenever he is used.

Personal Opinion (Not To be Used in Final Judgement): 6

I've never been a Austin fan, I wasn'tt into the Austin 3:16 craze, as I found myself to be more of a D-X person, plus around the time I was watching WCW for the most part...but the real reason, is last year, as Co-Gm, he wasn't even a active Wrestler and he was severely holding people down...Test, Jericho, Christian, Steiner, Evolution....Kane, La Resistance....it was awful....

Overall: 9.3

Never really enjoyed SCSA as a wrestler. I found him repetitive. But i havnet seen much post 1997, so maybe b4 the injury he was better?

Overness: 10
of course!

Mic/Charisma: 10
Not as good as the Rock on the mic.
But his charisma during matches is brilliant!

Entrance: 10
I love it!, just for the pop, and his no nonsense way of getting down to the ring.

Finisher: 9
Is a really great stunner, on the right person. If he gives it to someone like Scott Hall or ROck, then its great. Someone like Vince or someone who just drops down and lays down on his shoulder...makes it look kinda crap.

9.3 total

Ring ability: 9 - He had a great style, and it mixed well with all other styles...
Overness: 10 - Who was more over than Austin!?
Work rate: 10 - Great
Politics: 9 - He was great for the most part...
Mic/Charisma: 10 - He was great on the mic and had great charisma...
Finisher: 10 - It was the one move that would ALWAYS get a great pop... It was almost always executed perfectly, and it was sold well...

He was great during the Invasion angle. Austin owned 2001 with his matches. Austin vs.HHH at NWO, Austin vs.Rock at Mania, Austin vs.Benoit matches, Austin/HHH vs.Jericho/Benoit, Austin vs.Angle matches. To say his matches suck during the Invasion angle is stupid.

I give him a 10 because he was the most complete wrestler to ever live. From his WCW days to his WWE days.

1991,1992,1997,1998 and 2001 was Austin greatest years.

I know some might think that as a disgrace but to be honest I have never liked of Austin. One reason could be that I didn't really follow WWF during the Attitude era.

He wasn't a bad wrestler, but he wasn't a good one. His stuff was all 'shock you' type things that personified the Attitude era, and his promos were better than his matches (most of the time, IMO). His gimmick in the Alliance angle really annoyed me, and it was then that he started going downhill. Beat his wife, walked out two or three times, and what not. *shrug*

Overall: 8.5

Explanation: He wasn't a great wrestler. However, I had to give him at least 7 because he knew psychology and he know what to do and when to do it. His work rate is 9 because he always seemed to bust his ass in the ring. I couldn't give him 10 because he didn't seem to be as focused before and after his walk-outs. Charisma is 10, and it is understandable, and entertainment is only 8 because while I loved him during the start of Attitude, I just didn't find his stuff as interesting after the Invasion when he suddenly went face for no reason.

I'm gonna rate him a 10. Although that sounds like I'm a huge mark (especially with 3:16 in my username) he did have his bad moments with the Invasion heel run and the Co - GM role, but his good moments were awesome to watch and he was a thoroughly entertaining wrestler.

Scarface
10-11-2004, 02:34 PM
Ring work - All his matches entertained due to both mat skills and his intensity in the ring. Matches with Bret Hart and Ken Shamrock were classics in my mind (his mat skills really shone in the shamrock match.) Shame to say that this wasn't the main reason for him being as over as he was. Obviously he went downhill after the accident, but he still entertained when it mattered. 9.5

Mic work - Austin had a great gimmick that really clicked with the crowd, and the fact that Austin was so over with it was due to his mic work. Although "What!" was annoying, it was also pretty funny for a time (like a couple of weeks). 9.7

Work Rate - This guy wrestled when he was injured and he was still around when he was seriously injured. His matches were constantly good and he always seemed to be 100% into whatever angle he was involved in. 10

Overall 9.7 - This guy will be forever known as one of the greats.

10, Austin was me favourite wrestler ever. I loved his entrance, the way the glass broke followed by that bad ass guitar riff, then him practically marchin' to the ring, worked perfectly. The Stone Cold Stunner is the greatest finisher of them all, I loved it when someone who really annoyed me copped the Stunner. One funny incdent was durin' a Royal Rumble when Perry Saturn entered the ring and got Stunned straight away. Loved it.

So yeah, a definite ten for me.

Azriel
10-11-2004, 04:06 PM
got to give him a 10. He was the Hogan of the late 90's, except more pissed off and better wrestling abilities.

tucsonspeed6
10-11-2004, 04:08 PM
I'll give him an 8.5. He had a hell of a work rate and he was ultra charasmatic, which would have given him a ten, but his health and knack for holding younger wrestlers down in recent times pulls him back a bit.

Again, 8.5.

Same Here :)
Austin was the go to guy for the WWF for many years, he pulled in the ratings more than anyone, he's bigger than Bret Hart, and has done more for the company than the guy everyone seems to worship around here.
If it wasn't for Austin, I don't think we'd have 2 televised WWE Shows. Maybe one, but it definately wouldn't be where it is today.
Much like hogan, he'll never get the respect he deserves amongst alot of the "smarts"

In WCW, Austin was probably top 5 best wrestlers they had at that time. He got screwed countless times because of politics, but he held his own.

It wasn't until after Austin took the piledriver from Hart that his wrestling style changed. Really not his fault. I mean what's a guy with a bad neck suppossed to do.

Can't argue all that he did for the company WWF/E eathier. Next to Hogan, the most over guy of all-time in that company.

In ECW, his anti-WCW stuff was gold. Austin always delievered on the mic. Well he learned from one of the best (Pillman)

Great talent, loaded with charisma, and help put WWE back on the mat. The only reason that he doesn't get a perfect score is because he always got the best of The Rock in storylines (I guess the face is always suppose to win)

And on a side not. I was out of town yesterday and couldn't vote for HHH

9.2, because he wasn't the greatest of wrestlers (how many times has ppl said that?!), but damn it, if he didn't give you all he had. He is one of the best entertainers and could hype a match like its no tommorrow. He (along with Rock and Hunter) is the reason why WWE is still doing business.

And that's the bottom line because gonMad said so!

The guy isn't the most technical guy, but I was surprised to see some of his old matches (and some PPV ones) to see that he can really hold his own. And while the generic kick-ass gimmick was boring as hell, his heel turn was classic. Those skits with Angle and Vince were some of the best skits on WWE programming I've ever seen. And the "What" chant was originally hilarious (I remember him pretending to drop Angle's medals into a sewer, and every time he did it he'd say "WHAT?" which was awesome). It sucked when he turned face and the crowd got carried away with it though. Overall, I can certainly give credit where credit is due, and he was extremely over.
