He's new to singing. Wow. That makes everything different. :|
Seriously, you shouldn't be recording his vocals then. If you want to impress people, putting some ameteur with no chops on is not an excuse. This is what you're putting forward, this is what you will be judged on.
Besides, he wasn't the only thing about your music that sucked dick.

Dude. I know what mixing refers to. You can set the levels AS YOU RECORD. Take it from someone who's spent time as a RECORDING TECHNICIAN.
You're a total moron with no idea what he's arguing about.
It takes all of 5 minutes tops to set up a balanced mix for recording. You don't even NEED to mix afterwards if you're good, as a good band can manage the same levels throughout.
Though I doubt you've ever recorded before, or you'd probably know this. This isn't even a very advanced recording technique. But why would you take 5 minutes to sound a tiny bit professional, or understand your equipment well enough to bother...That would be intelligent and professional.

True. His life might even be better than yours, or possibly worse. Who knows? Who cares?
A ton of people on these boards have created music. Personally, I've not only created music, but recorded and produced for other people. I don't put up my band's demos because they're of crap quality, and not how I want to represent us. I pass 'em around with my friends, but I don't randomly hype with what I know isn't my best foot forward.
I'd like to think this concept was common sense, but with the number of fu</>ckwits who hype bad demos for bands they claim are "wayyyyyyy better" or "live bands," I'm guessing it's hard to figure out.

Fine. Don't believe a word I day. Like I really care. It's funny that you know what I'm saying but couldn't do it, and know what I'm saying, but don't believe it.
Your first time in a studio? It figures. Recording probably meant singing into a tape deck before now. Your samples aren't at the same level, but you COULD HAVE MADE THEM BE. Wow. That would have been hard.
5 minutes.
Did you even, like, check levels before you started recording?
everyhourdylan

you really think there are that few talented drummers out there?
I've been in about 6 bands, and only one of them had a so-so drummer. Two of the three best musicians I've ever played with have been drummers (actually, they were brothers).
I'm not saying drumming is easy, because it's not. I'm a terrible drummer. Hopwever, there are some great drummers out there,

actually thats hardly the case. playing drums is far too $$. and well finding a band in my area in search of a drummer was far too hard. i liked this band 9 months before i ever joined. as for sampling. programming the samples i did was far more complicated than youd ever care to know. goto your local music shop and bring a disk. put a wav on it. then when you go there. find a emu ultra 5000 and attempt to put the wav in c5 to a single spot in your desired position on the keyboard. you then...will find that it is much more than youd ever want to get into...as for keyboard patches...you dont wanna go there either. their really quite difficult to produce. so in advance **** you drums are infact easier. in my opinion anyway

 And I care about your highly uneducated opinion why?
First off, you say finding a good drummer's hard, then you say that you couldn't find a band to fit into. Either you're wrong, and it's easy to find drummers, or you suck, hence your inability to find a band that would take you.
And wow. Programming a sample. Yes, that requires so much more musical talent, and I've never done it before. Wow, you've really got me over a barrel now...

Yes. I've done programming before. I don't do it currently because I'm a musician.
Drum equipment is no more overpriced than any other instrument I've worked with. You probably think it's oh-so-special, but try buying multiple types of instruments. The money factor's bullshit as far as a deterrent to drummers.
Piss and Fart. Give you a hint. If you need to explain a joke, it's not funny. That was some pretty boring wordplay.

Yes, and I don't own a single instrument.
Wait...Unless you count my horns, my mics, my pedals, my percussion equipment (Never owned a drum SET in my life, but I own a bunch of DRUMS), my keyboard.
Of course, none of that's professional.
Oh wait. Everything by my keyboard is. Top it off with a ton of mixing and recording equipment.
Only the drums were expensive. Oh wait...Not even that one's true.
I didn't say it wasn't expensive, retard.
Try getting a clue before you start running your mouth. You're becoming far more boring as time goes by. It's like arguing with a 5 year old with brain damage and tourrettes syndrome.
