I wasn't even that big a fan of it but Lost In Translation is still a damn well made film.

Anyways, worst movie ever that I have seen is prolly Backyard Dogs or House of the Dead. Off the top of my head anyway.

Starship Troopers is actually an interesting political commentary (and a kickass movie).

But Queen of the Damned, Freddy Got Fingered and Rollerball were all atrocious.

I agree, the book was very good and it's one of Anne Rice's best novels. I've read Queen of the Dambed book many times but the movie was downright horrible and stupid. :n:

Yeah, the actors in QotD were some of the shittiest ever. Their voices sounded so fake.. The main thing that pissed me off though was that they changed the entire story, didn't include much of anything from the book except the characters and theme and -basic- story. Fuck, his hair wasn't even blonde as it is in the books.

Worst movie ever is the Polognia Brothers' shitfest "The House thats Screamed". This is quite possibly the worst movie ever. Second is Ed Wood's "Orgy of the Dead".

Good bad movies:

"Zombie Holocaust" (those crazy italians and their cannibal films)

The "THX" logo that comes up at the begining of movies refers to the people who did the sound work for the movie. It's a subsidiary of Industrial Light and Magic and was named after Lucas' movie.

the thing with two heads, story is that a brilliant/rich/scientist whos also a biggot is dying and gets his head sewn onto a large black man on death row, the black guy escapes from the lab with the proffesor, on a dirt bike..

"black son of a bitch" opposed to the N-word was used in most of the dialouge(sp?)
and you could tell that when they were both seen in the same shot, the white guy was just standing on a box, and slightly back, with his chin on the black mans shoulders, and a large bandage was wrapped around their necks for obvious reasons.

needless to say, WHAT-THE-FUCK

I believe Rob intended to release an uncut version on DVD, but then was offered to do the sequel. So he made the choice of one or the other and chose the latter.

You know, now that I think about it - that second Charlie's Angels did suck. I was just too enraptured by Drew I guess (and the car wash scene at the end of the movie...hmm)

If I go by bad movies, I would say Freddy Got Fingered but I knew that one was going to be bad before I saw it so it doesn't count. I can think of the Burbs, The Matrix, and a big budget bomb from years gone by that starred Geena Davis - something about her being a pirate. It costed $100 million to make and it sucked every second.

WTF. How anyone can claim these movies to be "poorly made" is ridiculous. You may not enjoy them but that still does not mean they were poorly made. These are some of the most beautifully made films to ever grace the screen, plus probably the best book-to-film adaptation yet.

You thought the movie was boring, just imagine what was left out from the books that would have made it even more boring for ya.

I consider them poorly directed and poorly acted. Secondly, I don't think the special effects are that good either. I'm not trying to sound like an ass, either, but I just don't think they're made well. I respect your opinion, Boondock, I'm not trying to attack you personally here.

As for Tarrantino, I have seen his films. I've seen Pulp Fiction, don't like it. I've seen Resevoir(sp?) Dogs, don't like it. I'm just not impressed with him. Plus, he's got such a huge ego, that I can't stand the guy. He's so arrogant and pretentious. In my opinion, I don't think he's a good director.

It's the same way with Kevin Smith. His ego has grown so much, that he's so fucking in love with himself. Pure fact is, Kevin, just because you make comic book references, that doesn't qualify you to write comic books. Case in point, Daredevil. All you did was re-hash Frank Millers stuff, who did it so much better than you.

Granted, the first Batman isn't nearly as bad as Forever and B&R, but the first Batman is really not that good of a film. What the hell, Kill Bill movies are the greatest of all time. I don't know where you got this information but what's wrong with Tattantino being an "arrogant hack" he deserves to be. He's brillant, and he has the right to be confident in himself enough to appreciate how great he is.

Also LOTR took an extremely long time to make, and it delivered. It won so many awards including best picture, so to say it's poorly made shows the ignorance on your part. Also, the acting in the movie was brillant, they didn't really need to get A-list actors to fill in the role cause that would have ruined the effect of the movie.

Also, I agree with the movies you despise, they suck. Besides Batman, that was kewl.

Here's the movie I hate most: Crossroads with Brittney Spears. A friend of mine made me sit through half of this and only half cause I left the room.

What the hell, Kill Bill movies are the greatest of all time. I don't know where you got this information but what's wrong with Tattantino being an "arrogant hack" he deserves to be. He's brillant, and he has the right to be confident in himself enough to appreciate how great he is.

Boy, can you kiss Tarantino's ass any more? Jesus.

He's brilliant and he has the right to be confident in himself enough to appreciate how great he is?

Give me a break.

That doesn't prove shit. Movies win awards all the damn time, doesn't mean they're good. Just because Lord Of The Rings won so many awards, doesn't make it a good film. The acting? What acting? People acted in that movie? Huh. Yeah, you said it right when you said they didn't need A-List actors. Elijah Wood is a perfect example. The guy can't act for shit.

Here's the movie I hate most: Crossroads with Brittney Spears. A friend of mine made me sit through half of this and only half cause I left the room.

Now that I'll agree with. Crossroads is complete shit.

Wow, I actually agree with Blackdawn ( )on the LOTR acting. It really isn't anything to be that proud of, with the exception of Ian McKellan. But seeing as how whenever I read about the movies, no one really comments on the acting. Maybe on how they looked the part, but not the acting. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall any of the other actors being nominated for Best or Supporting Actor/Actress?

But aside from that...uh....yeah.

#2/5.

Anyway, House of the Dead is the worst movie, by a large margin. It's the only movie I've ever actually become angry with. Although, I actually consider it less a movie than a calculated assault against happiness (/seanbaby).

Runners up:
Batman And Robin, for taking the best comic bock villain of all time (Bane) and turning him into a punchline

Wing Commander (Pretty much anythng with Freddy Prinze Jr., actually. How he bagged Sarah Michelle gellar is a question for the ages)

Resident Evil and Resident Evil Apocalypse, for one of the most boring characters in movie history (Alice)

Mortal Kombat Annhilation, for awful dialogue and trying to cram in every goddamn character from the games.

Street Fighter, for terrible, terrible casting.

Resident Evil sucked. As did Catwoman - although I wasn't exactly expecting this to be good. I was expecting Resident Evil to be good though, so I was really disappointed :(

I think that Sean Bean (Boromir) was the best actor in LOTR. Even better then Ian McKellan

honourable mention to The Day After Tomorrow. I can see why the south park guys wanted to make a puppet version of that before they did Team America. Absolutely ridiculous script, and terrible over dramatic acting too.

just to prove my point:

Memorable Quotes from
Day After Tomorrow, The (2004)
Jack Hall: Professor, I think it's time you guys got out of there.
Terry Rapson: I'm afraid that time has come and gone, my friend.
Jack Hall: What should we do?
Terry Rapson: Save as many as you can.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[as Brian works on a radio]
Police Officer: You should get some help with that.
Brian Parks: Sir, I'm the president of the electronics club, the mathematics club, and the chess club. If there is a bigger nerd in here, please point him out.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Laura Chapman: I've got one. Best vacation?
Sam Hall: You mean besides this one?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Laura Chapman: Everything I've ever cared about, everything I've worked for, it's all been in preparation for a future that no longer exists. I know you always thought I took the competition too seriously. You were right. It was all for nothing.
Sam Hall: No, I just said that to avoid admitting the truth.
Laura Chapman: The truth about what?
Sam Hall: About why I joined the team. I joined it because of you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jeremy: Friedrich Niezsche? We can't burn that! He's one of the most important thinkers in history!
Elsa: Please! Niezsche was a syphilitic chauvinist who was in love with his own sister.
Jeremy: He was not a chauvinist!
Elsa: But he was in love with his own sister.
Brian Parks: Uh, yeah, guys? We got a whole section on tax laws down here we can burn.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brian Parks: [after finding a bottle of penicillin with Russian written on it] I found it!
Sam Hall: How can you tell?
Brian Parks: Because it says "penicillin" on the bottom.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[a man suggested burning a bottle of alcohol to keep them alive]
Terry Rapson: Are you mad? That's a 12-year-old scotch.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jason Evans: [as he meets a gorgeous woman] Hi, I'm Jason!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jason Evans: What's going to happen to us?
Jack Hall: What do you mean?
Jason Evans: I mean "us"? Civilization? Everyone?
Jack Hall: Mankind survived the last ice age. We're certainly capable of surviving this one. The only question is, will we be able to learn from our mistakes?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jack Hall: I will come for you, do you understand me?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
J.D.: [showing the other students the museum] I couldn't let you guys leave New York without seeing the Natural History Museum.
Sam Hall: [under his breath] Of course not, it's the world's finest collection of stuffed animals.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Helicopter Pilot: [trying to start plummeting helicopter] Come on, you ruddy bastard!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jack Hall: Our climate is fragile. The ice caps are disappearing at a dangerous rate.
Vice President Becker: Dr. Hall, our economy is every bit as fragile as the environment. Perhaps you should keep that in mind before making sensationalist claims.
Jack Hall: Well, the last chunk of ice that broke off was the size of Rhode Island. A lot of folks would say that was pretty sensational.

dear god

The only question is, will we be able to learn from our mistakes?

hahaha :'(

Anything with Ben Stiller in it, his idea of "comedy" is to grimace & scream at the camera. I think Roger Ebert said in his review of the latest Texas Chainsaw Massacre that he walked out in the middle because he felt like he had to get out into the sunlight, the movie was so dark & morbid. That's how I feel about Ben Stiller movies :D

Michael Moore is a master of taking things out of context and twisting the facts to fit his own political agenda. :| Did you hear about his next movie? "George Bush is a stupid poopyhead".
