The website www.gtasanandreas.com has been registered by Rockstar.
50 Cent has been talking with Rockstar, meaning he could be involved as a character or for music.
It appears to be set in the present day.
Source: OPSM2 and Playstation Max.
At least it won't be set during riots

Could be a red herring, some companies are quite fond of misleading people by trademarking stuff that they never use, or registering website addresses.

I doubt it will be, but im sure that you will have to do some real "gangsta" shit, whilst listening to 50 cent. It's not too bad but dammnit nothing will beat flash radio!

<font color=teal>I hate 50 Cent. Luckily I can just change the station though.</font>
That website has been registered by them for like 6 months or more. They also have another (something like gtasincity.com) registered. The only real news about it is that it will be released at the end of this year.

:shifty:
Well, it looks like the title will most likely be GTA: San Andreas. Take-Two has registered GTA: San Andreas, GTA 5, and GTA 6.
Notice, they are all "GTA" instead of "Grand Theft Auto".

Or just turn the radio off and listen to your own shite on a CD player.
Which reminds me, didn't they have a trick on Grand Theft Auto and GTA2 where you could take out the game CD and put in your own to listen to in the car? That'd be wicked sweet if they could do that again.

Well, seeing as GTA III was based in Liberty City, and the one after that was Vice City, it only makes sense that the next one should be the third of the three cities in the original, San Andreas. :y:

I hope its not Sin City.
It sounds like a cheap Atari game.
San Andreas is the way to go

Re: 50 Cent.
I hope that "he's working with Rockstar" means that there will just be a bunch of people on the streets who look and sound like him that I can run over repeatedly for making me listen to that shit song "In Da Club" on every radio station in the state of Michigan.
Re: Possible Titles
I like the thought of Sin City being a Las Vegas-type city, but deathtrap's right, it doesn't quite fit the GTA "feel." I like San Andreas, but then we're getting into naming cities after actual regions, which is something GTA hasn't done yet (to my knowledge. I never played the first two). Whatever they come up with, I'm sure it will rule.
Re: Game coming out at the end of the year.

<font color=teal>I'm betting on San Andreas right now.</font>
Take-Two, developers of Grand Theft Auto, have trademarked the titles: GTA San Andreas, GTA 5, and GTA 6. Now, unless they are throwing away money, the next title will be GTA: San Andreas. Which, in term, means the game will be a "hybrid of Los Angeles and San Francisco".
So, as of now, I wouldn't be jumping on the Sin City theory.

New news....
Courtesy <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/adventure/gta4/news_6086492.html"> Gamespot</a>
On December 21, 2003, one week after it registered GTA: San Andreas, Rockstar parent Take-Two Interactive registered Grand Theft Auto: Bogota, Grand Theft Auto: Tokyo, and Grand Theft Auto: Sin City with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Since neither Take-Two nor Rockstar are officially commenting, it's anybody's guess whether the three GTA titles are potential monikers for the fifth official Grand Theft Auto game, future installments in the crime adventure franchise, or merely decoys.
I heard that too. Bogota could be intresting being in Columbia, but Tokyo? I'm sorry but unless they pull something spectacular out their asses, I don't think Tokyo would be a good choice at all. Sin City and San Andreas are what they should be shooting at.
Either Take-Two saw the news about the recent patents and went and put these out in order to throw people off, or they were smart, figured the patents would leak, and then put bogus patents (that could be used after this game so nobody would remember) to throw off people before they got the patents for the real version.
Either way, Rockstar will put out the best game they can. They seem to have the spot the for the GTA games.
They need a Goodfellas type soundtrack
