View Full Version : Angle to RAW?

"According to several sources, Paul Heyman has been a big advocate of trading Kurt Angle for Chris Benoit. Heyman reportedly feels that separating Kurt Angle from The Undertaker would break up the very political presence felt backstage at SmackDown! from the two superstars.

It was said that Angle likely would have feuded with Shawn Michaels upon being moved to RAW. By all indications, WWE has put the idea on hold for now. Because it has gone back and forth and the trade could still happen, we will keep you posted. Keep in mind this is just a rumor right now, but is has definitely been talked about backstage."

Yeah, it's from Wrestlezone so it's quite possibly BS. But I've found that lately they have become slightly more credible. I dunno. If it IS true...eh...I'd prefer to see someone like HBK goto Smackdown. Angle has always been on SD and it kinda feels like "his" show almost. I dunno.

If Hunter were to turn baby, then I could see it, because you could do HHH-Angle as a major program.

Moving Benoit back to SD just so he can get killed by Taker makes no sense to me. I mean I would rather see Angle-Taker than Benoit-Taker. And whats worse the rumour is Heyman wanted to turn Benoit heel, I dont think that makes any sense at this point.

The trade that seems the most logical to me is Taker for HBK. They are both part time guys, they are both over, and you create fresh match-ups on boths sides. On RAW they can do HHH-Taker which would seem fresh and SD would have Angle-HBK, which would be good.

Plus you can't really have Taker and Michaels on the same brand.

I see some good and bad things coming out of the trade.

Pros

I would love to see an HBK/Angle feud, or have Angle go over HHH for the World title, leading up to an Orton/Angle feud where Orton goes over as the heel.

Benoit would be a great challenger for JBL, and could win the title he was meant to win since the Royal Rumble in 2003.

Cons

Smackdown loses a big name while Raw just gains another. Political pull backstage will be heavily dense with HHH and Angle; HHH more so.

Angle would probably be made to look inferior to HHH if he were to challenge him for the World title. Either that or Angle's credibility would be hurt since all the shows are centered around HHH.

Another plus, Triple H has no problem jobbing to a guy he doesn't have to make. Case in point Foley, Rock, HBK. Angle would create one credible person outside of HBK that HHH wouldn't mind jobbing to on a somewhat frequent basis.

Nah, it's legit. It was in the Observer. It was also posted on TPWW :shifty:

Yeah Angle/HBK would be cool..

Angle belonjgs on smackdown, he is MR.Smackdown IMO.

I wouldn't like to see him shifted to Raw. However, it would create a couple of interesting matches, namely:
Angle VS Orton
Angle VS Shelton Benjamin - hopefully he could actually put some fire back into Shelton's wrestling style!
Angle VS Ric Flair
Angle VS HBK

I wouldnt be too fussed with angle taking on Christian, HHH, Y2J or Benoit.

As for benoit moving to Smackdown...NO WAY!!!
Benit is awesome on RAW IMO. He is a key person on there now. and plus, i think its stupid having some guy getting shifted forward and back between the two brands. and him going back to smackdown, i think, sounds kinda weak. its like, "i cant regain the title, so i'll go to the minor league and get theirs"

P.S. Smackdown > Raw

I've got a simple answer and even that will have it's consequences: Bring the brands together again.

Either way, there still be fighting since everyone hates someone in one show or another.

If Angle went to Raw, Beniot and Kane should go to Smackdown (I'm not saying that Angle is worth both, just Smackdown needs some more power and Kane could easily do it, I would have said Jericho or Christian but, I never see Smackdown and they are my favorites.

well, we could have more awesome benoit/angle matches. Angle needs to stay on SD though. He's really the big star there.

sorry, that stupid IMO.

if that happens, they'll be no CCC, no simon dean, no Heidenreich (i htink thats a bad thing).
Luther would still be around.

But, and i've said it sooo many times before, how can you possibly fit:
HHH, Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, Kane, Randy Orton, Eddie Guerrero, Big Show, Booker T, Edge, HBK, Christian and Chris Jericho in the main event and upper midcard scene?
unless they cut alot of wrestlers

This is interesting news. How about we see a trade in which Kurt Angle, Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak get traded for Chris Jericho, Edge & Christian? It clears the mid-card up a bit, sends over a few credible names and talents to SmackDown!, and let's us have almost a turf war between Evolution and "Team Angle". Or you can simply play the numbers game. Have The Hurricane, Al Snow, Maven, Rhyno, Tajiri & maybe Gene Snitsky and Stacy Keibler over to SmackDown! in exchange for those Angle, Luther & Jindrak. Or you can just keep Jindrak & Reigns on SD! and have Angle traded for Kane, Snitsky or Rhyno & Tajiri, etc.

Well i'm creaming myself at the thought of HBK V Angle and if Heyman were to take on Benoit he would actually use him correctly, think of Benoit/Eddie all over again SWEET!

I say do it

I'd rather see Eddie on RAW and HBK on SmackDown! to be honest. I would love to see Chris Benoit vs. Eddie Guerrero on RAW down the line, and HBK vs. Angle down the road on SmackDown!.

Keep Benoit on RAW, and leave Undertaker on SmackDown. If he gets traded, down the line we're gonna get Kane vs Undertaker part 75946757. Bring over Team Angle for feuds with Evolution, and send over Edge, Christian, and Y2J. The Smackdown style would suuit them better. Plus if someones gonna dethrone JBL, who better than one of these 3 (besides possibly RVD)

Side note: someone mentioned Benoit/Eddie. I was watching The Wrestling Channel last night and the SuperCard Show was a tribute to Benoit. And I saw Chris Benoit vs Eddie "Black Tiger" Guererro in NJPW. Awesome match.

Just thought I'd share. Who else saw it?

Is that the one on the Chris Benoit: Hard Knocks DVD? If so, I really didn't mind that match. I wouldn't say it was an A+ match, but definately A- if I was keeping score.

BTW, I've always been fond of the idea of Chris Jericho taking the WWE Championship away from JBL. Here is probably how I would get Angle on RAW. Have Angle get traded for let's say, Randy Orton. This can be a forced trade, calculated by Evolution to get Orton of their brand. I think Orton would do a great job on SmackDown!, and could even start a good stable there. Have Chris Jericho tarded for Eddie Guerrero. Eddie could have some great matches on RAW with Chris Benoit & Shelton Benjamin, and who knows, I can even see him playing the heel in the future. Eddie in Evoultion could be interesting.

Have Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak then traded to RAW for let's say Rhyno, Tajiri & The Hurricane or Rhyno, Tajiri & Val Venis. Or even William Regal & Eugene. This sets up a fresh new face team on SmackDown!, a new mid-carder with a decent gimmick, gives Randy Orton even more heat with Evolution, leading up to maybe an inter-promotional match between him & Triple H at WrestleMania 21, and puts Angle and his team on RAW. Jericho can feud with JBL heading into Armageddon as well.

This would make the rosters really messy, but Angle vs. HBK, Triple H vs. Orton, Guerrero & Benoit vs. Edge & Christian, Rhyno & Tajiri vs. The Dudleys vs. Paul London & Billy Kidman vs. Rob Van Dam & Rey Mysterio are all great feuds I would love to see.

It would be better than the shit feuds he's having on Smackdown! now.

I would love to see Angle on Raw. Angle was so much better when he ahd that cocky attitude like he did in 2000. I think Angle could have a good rivalry with any makor superstar on Raw (Triple H, Orton, HBK, Edge, maybe The Rock). It was be niceee if Angle went to Raw. And then Smackdown would have Benoit/Guerrero

i agree but put it on 2 days... lets say evryone goes to Raw...have 2 Raws in 1 week...Monday and Thursday that way everyone is on the same show and there is the same amount of exposure time for everyone

The WWE still have alot of potential matchups they can use for Angle on Smack Down.

Angle V. Booker T
Angle V. Rob Van Dam *I like this one, mainly cuz I am a RVD mark
Angle V. Undertaker

Angle: At least I won't have to job to HHH and lose this belt!
Heyman: I traded you to RAW.
Angle: Damn.

LMAO, I have NEVER EVER heard one like that before!

Anyway, that would kill SmackDown!

If anything, trade Bradshaw and Undertaker to RAW for Jericho,HBK, and Kane. I seriously think that Taker and JBL would fit on RAW better. Jericho,HBK, and Kane on SD! would be awesome because instead of JBL v. Eddie you get:

Jericho v. Eddie
HBK v. Eddie
HBK v. RVD (for real this time)
Jericho v. RVD
Kane v. Eddie (This would be suprisingly good IMO)

I liked the draft at first because of the trades and stuff, but they would overkill it too much, plus we all know about the power of the Kliq!

Who cares about Kurt Angle to RAW?

Send Shawn Michaels to fucking Smackdown, baby. So many great possibilities I can't even name them all, but I cream myself at the thought of one:

Rey Mysterio vs. Shawn Michaels

*RAW SPOILERS*

Well, Orton lost the match to Ric Flair, which means he can't he a World Heavyweight Title shot as long as Triple H is champion. I'd like to see them keep this stipulation alive, and maybe have Orton traded to SmackDown! for Angle. Or they can do a five to RAW, five to SmackDown! type thing like they did last time.

To RAW
1. Kurt Angle
2. Mark Jindrak
3. Luther Reigns
4. Eddie Guerrero
5. Billy Kidman

To SmackDown!
1. Randy Orton
2. The Hurricane
3. Tajiri
4. Rhyno
5. Maven, Steven Richards or Sylvain Grenier
