It was an OK ending. It was weird though. So what, it takes 20 guys to put HHH down?
Orton looked like he needed major help to get HHH and that's not really good when you're trying to get him over. Yeah, it was exciting, yeah it was a good pop, yeah it was a nice moment, but it didn't seem right. It made Orton equal to just about all those guys in the ring. You really can't have 4 main babyfaces. You see what I'm saying?
But it was DEFINATELY AN A+ TOP O BOTTOM

Its funny how people see that as a good ending, I thought the exact opposite. It took about 15 guys just to get to HHH......who is supposed to be the babyface again? Oh yeah the guy leading the gang attack against ONE GUY.
Orotn loses AGAIN, and to Ric Flair, which is kinda sad. They'll probably see this show as a good thing because the crowd was into HHH taking a beating at the end, but Orton still looks like a glorified mid carder to me.
Its funny because I was watching this show with some friends and all of them thought Orton loooked "like a fag" the way he poses and has that stupid ass smile on his face in between every sentence.
And I agree with Lara, those were some weak looking RKO's. He seems to be trying to make the move look more painful or something, but in doing so he's making it look really weak. He should watch some old DDP tapes on how to execute that move.
Rest of RAW was decent in terms of moving things along without actually going anywhere, if that makes any sense.
Was anyone else laughing at HBK's promo. I mean how funny is it to hear HBK talking about doing things for the fans and all that BS. If only he had said "I lost my smile" I would have been in heaven.
Did I mention it was dumb that Flair beat Orton?

Exactly, thats how it camne across to me, he needed Rosey's help to beat up HHH. That doesn't make me want to plunk down $50 to see him headline Wrestlemania.
Again, go back to Hogan, Austin, Rock, none of those guys would have needed all that help just to get their finisher on one guy.

Yeah it seems like he's trying to jump too high, but in doing so, you can see through the move. At least when you do it DDP style, or even how Orton was doing it as a heel, its quick, it looks impactful and it looks like a legit finisher. This way, not so much.

I think they are pushing Maven because of TE on SD. They need to make it seem like winning TE actually makes you a superstar instead of a jobber on Heat or a guy carrying Uncle Eric's bags or a guy we've never seen or heard form since the end of TE.

Didn't really get why they had him sitting there the rest of the night though.

» On Monday, October 25, 2004 at 6:41 PM EST
<HR>
- In what was said to be the highlight among TNA workers upon Scott Hall's backstage appearance at the Impact! tapings last week in Orlando, Jeff Jarrett held a talent meeting at ringside that got very interesting.
The meeting, which was said to be nothing special, basically saw Jarrett inform the workers about next week's double tapings with Impact! on Tuesday and the "Best Damn Sports Show Period" on Wednesday. Some TNA workers said Jarrett may have held the meeting to show Hall how much of an authority figure he is in TNA. Even if that was the case or not, Hall quickly showed everyone around him that he had no respect for Jarrett in the first place.
As Jarrett was speaking at the ringside area to the workers in the bleachers, Hall mocked him from behind many times. When Jarrett brought up how everyone needed to show up on time to the tapings, Hall began running in place. As Jarrett continued to speak, Hall climbed inside the ring and began doing several crotch chops behind an unsuspecting Jarrett. A few TNA workers were said to be fighting back laughter, but most did their best to keep a straight face.

LOL Scott Hall, drunk or not, that's hilarious. I wish it would have been on TV
LOL good stuff. :y:
I think the whole 'united faces' concept was pretty good, and finally there is some unity to go against Evolution. I do agree that Maven should not have been one of the three to form the group, as it should have been someone like Rhyno or Benjamin. Also RKO looks pretty weak after needing help, but you have to think of the marks that enjoy watching Orton get some payback after Flair and HHH screwed him over yet again. Pretty strong show this week, even with Steph in charge :|

aight aight. I watched Raw and if I was supposed to be impressed by it then I'm sad to report that I wasn't. I mena they tried to make Triple H look unbeatable and unstoppable before but this takes the cake. I mean you can have him kickin out of finishers, you can have him bury people but to have like 15 guys to take him down with Maven? :wtf:
The good guys unified concept was a good idea but what does it do for them? It shows that by themselves they can't stop Triple H but together they can. And the one thing I still can't understand is why Maven? :wtf: Out of them all he was the one that did not make sense bein in that ring. I mean have Shelton, Hurricane, tajiri, Rhyno, any of them but Maven. At least they coulda did a finisher on Triple H instead of just starin at him and watchin everyone else do theirs.
And ummm... Gene Snitsky over Regal. That part I did kinda mind but really got me was the quickness of it. You can't squash Regal like that!
Lita, Lita, Lita. Quit while you're still behind. Just quit. All I can think of right now.
Now I remember. Orton! You had the RKO down pretty good but Monday it was lookin like a piece of crap. I don't know what he is tryin to do to it be he needs to quit. I agree. Watch DDP deliver the Diamond Cutter. Man I hated watchin him deliver it that night. All the other nights I didn't mind... I rather liked it but last night I hated it.

I almost always agree with CyNick, but I just don't tonight. I thought tonight's RAW went really well.
So what if it took 15 guys to take down Triple H? I know it makes the babyfaces look weak, but the babyfaces look weak when they're jobbing to him one-by-one anyway. At least this way it's something different than feeding Trips a new flavor of the month. He's already run through Jericho, Benoit, and Orton individually, but the three of them united gives the RAW main event something it hasn't had: a group that could legitimately (in the fans' eyes) take apart Evolution.
Plus, you've got your RAW main event for Survivor Series all lined up. Orton, Benoit, Jericho, and Maven (I'd prefer Shelton, but...) vs. Evolution and Edge. Maybe throw in a stipulation that if the face team wins, the survivors all get title shots (similar to the "Bischoff favor" storyline from last year). Obviously, Maven gets eliminated, and they could screw Orton out of a win, but set up a Trips/Benoit/Jericho match for the Rumble.
I'm not crazy about them re-running the entire Eugene/Bischoff segment from Taboo Tuesday, but it sort of laid the groundwork for the whole "inmates running the asylum" storyline. If Bischoff can't even get his production crew to not run that humiliating video, what control does he have left? Hopefully, this leads to something big. That "big angle" that everyone has been looking for (and that LC made a thread about).
The Shelton/Jericho match was very good. Shelton looked like a legit champion and - even though he lost - Jericho came out looking very good. Plus, with Jericho out of the IC hunt, it put him in position for the Evolution confrontation. Plus, any time Christian is feuding for a title, you've got potential gold on your hands.
I wish Regal hadn't been jobbed out so fast to Snitsky, but it did an excellent job of making Snitsky look invincible. He took out Kane at Taboo Tuesday, and then he just picked apart somebody that JR is always talking about as one of the toughest competitors on the roster.
Plus, any show where we get commercials for "Halo 2" and "SmackDown vs. RAW" gets an A in my book.
This was one of the best RAWs in a long time, and for the first time in months, I can't wait for Monday to see what happens next.

I agree. In this situation, it's not a good idea to put orton on the same level as HHH. By making orton an underdog it's going to make the match, and the feud in general much more exciting. Of course its going to take a group of guys to take out HHH. He is the top heel in the company. I think it was great that it took all the faces to take him down, because the more powerful you make the heel look, the face who beats him is going to get even more over. And I think thats what they need to do to make orton a beleivable champ.

If you really think about it, it's all a part of a bigger plan to get Triple H even more over in his angle with Randy Orton.
First, they make guys like Jericho, Benoit, Maven, and Benjamin look weak because they're arguing iwith Triple H, like he's the damn general manager or some sort of a God. Why is he such a force to be reckoned with? Because he's the World Heavyweight Champion and the leader of Evolution? Yeah right. All it does is inadvertantly make Triple H and Evolution look even stronger by making these guys look lower than them.
The ending was simply a message: Evolution is dominant and it takes the whole fuckin' roster just to get a hit on them. That's pretty damn sad when Evolution only consists of three people, and the RAW roster consists of about 25, with many guys bigger or at least as threatening as Flair, Batista and Triple H.
In the end, the whole gang-beating thing was all about Randy Orton vs. Triple H. Stephanie booked that ending because it made everyone else's little angles and storylines (such as they are) look insignificant to the real deal, and the real deal is Orton vs. Triple H.

No matter what face beats him, no one will ever look stronger than Triple H on RAW.
Benoit beat him at Mania, and he's not doing shit now, and doesn't look any more credible than he did before.
Benjamin beat him twice, and he may be the Intercontinental Champion, but those wins really haven't done much for his career other than that initial boost, which he could've garnered in other ways.
I think it's pathetic when the only way to get a wrestler over on RAW is to have him beat Triple H. Really lowers the whole standard of the product.
