I dont know if this was even mentioned in The Grudge thread but I figured I would start something here.

Well it seems that The Grudge made over 40 Million (so it said on a website) during its first time out the gates. Well it has been said that since this movie did great on opening weekend that a sequel to the movie is now in the planning. Should these people wait a while and see what the following weeks bring in. The previews for it looked good but I heard that it sucked horribly. Shouldnt they wait to see if the crowd actually wants a sequel? I think about that and then I remember the very horrible Jeepers Creepers 2....WHY GOD WHY

The Grudge is okay. Not great by any stretch of the imagination, but for a horror movie its okay.

lol, they don't care about the crowd. They care about the $$$.

Christ, House of the Dead 2 has been greenlit. HOUSE OF THE DEAD.

lol, they don't care about the crowd. They care about the $$$. The movie just about quadrupled its $10 million budget which surprised everyone. Sequel was the first thing on their mind once they saw those numbers.

Christ, even a critically panned not well received movie like House of the Dead which didn't even do well (I'm not sure about overseas takes) has had a sequel greenlit. HOUSE OF THE DEAD.

The Same applies to House Of 1,000 Corpses and it's Sequel, The Devil's Rejects....

Jesus...Did you say House Of The Dead 2? That's going to be even more crap...

I actually liked House of 1000 Corpses but that's probably because I think Rob Zombie is the man. It was actually a well made, if stereotypical horror film.

They really should wait cause on opening weekend many movies do good. Some suck it up a lot but some do good and just cause it did good openin weekend doesn't mean they should go off makin a sequel. Chances are if they do then it will suck horribly.

I know what you're saying but House of 1000 Corpses was also fored to be edited down big time by the MPAA, plus it was shopped around to different studios until Lions Gate picked it up, and released it in March when it is clearly a "Halloween season" flick. It only did decent box office numbers.

I'm not saying the sequel will be better or worse or anything, I do not know. But I am psyched for it.

The Grudge is based off Ju-On

Ju-On 2 was out in Japan before the Grudge came out here. The Grudge 2 would simply be based of Ju-On 2, so it's not like they're making a new script from scratch.

Grudge 2 is by far one of the worst fucking horror movies I've seen... This movie is utter trash. DO NOT WASTE YOUR FUCKING MONEY!

Ju On 3 was already out or announced too, IIRC. And from what I've read, The Grudge 2 is a radically different movie from Ju-On 2.

Not that I'd waste my time on this shit.

A group of movie theater employees and friends of movie theater employees (FOMTEs) watched it last night. We got so bored that midway through the movie myself and my manager started naming off things Asian people like. Among them:

Sailor Moon
Having their movies remade
Godzilla
Neon lights
School girl panties
Tentacle porn
Karaoke
Pokemon
Seizures
Having eels in their ass
Unnecessary technology
Pantsing school girls
Ejecting odd things from their vagina
Refering to white people as "round eye"

This went on for 45 minutes.

Yeah, obviously I was way fucking off on that post.

Seriously.
A. This movie isn't scary.
B. It's not interesting.
C. It can't even follow it's own fucking rules... There is no reason for half the shit in this movie. Things don't make sense, and they don't even try to make them make sense.

Seriously. I can't get over how horrible this movie was. I could piss a better script.

Good to hear I'm not missing anything.

When you piss a better script, let me know. I'll probably watch that before the Grudge 2...

Opening credits, followed up by a screen that says "The End" would have been a better script.

Not scary, I had no idea what was going on and I couldn't tell a few characters apart.

the best part of the movie was when an old china man was playing peek-a-boo with no one.

But yeah, hated the first, don't plan on seeing this one. JuOn was ok, kinda confusing I thought.
