I have listened to their CD, The Silence in Black and White, through about 4 times now. I still cannot name a single song of theirs that sticks out in my mind. Even the worst of bands manage to accidentally create a good song out of what is otherwise a musical abortion, but not Hawthorne Heights. Not a single song on this generic, pre-packaged piece of shit grabs me by any means as "interesting".

It's like they looked at the screamo genre, and said, "Okay, we'll try and sound like a conglomeration of Thursday, The Used, Finch, and Funeral For A Friend, and then what we'll do, is remove all good vocal ideas, interesting guitar work, intricate basslines and rocking drum beats. Throw in some Alexisonfire-esque needy screams and we have a hit".

Jesus, they're awful.

This CD is where fun comes to die.

I agree, though I would never be able to listen to the album once, let alone 4 times.

A friend of mine bought a CD that came with a sample disc of other bands. Hawthorne Height's "Ohio is for Lovers" was on it. We were in the state of Ohio. We thought it was quite ironic, because we are from Virginia and our state motto is "Virginia is for lovers."

I don't like them. I don't like emo music at all. I just thought I would share that story.

I try to give bands as much a chance as possible, and since Hawthorne have been receiving big reviews lately I was desperately searching for something/ANYTHING that might tip me off as to why they're so popular.

No dice, though.

People here act like they're musical gods. I think they' re shit and shouldn't be on victory records.

I like a song or two from Hawthorne Heights. They have to be well seperated in a mix of 100 or so songs though. Nothing too close together, defintely can't listen to the whole cd straight through.
