Well that's a suprise.

Well, looks like TNA's gonna get another druggie/dunkie... And maybe one of those balls you throw at a velcro board... :shifty:

I was thinking that.

WWE always seem to do something just before release to screw up the games.
I don't think it's intentional. :shifty:

Minus Undertaker, Kane and Big Show.... the A-Train was the best BIG Man on the roster.

I think Billy Gunn could tear it up in the ring if he caught onto the 'indy' way of wrestling and was not confined to WWE restrictions. I believe in the long run this will be good for Billy if he can go elsewhere and showacase his skills. Maybe a run in TNA with BG James would really help out the tag team division if AMW leaves for the WWE.

Wow, that's a surprise. The WWE seemed to be pretty high on both men. In defense of A-Train, he was not that bad of a wrestler. He just need to wrestle with a frikkin's shirt on... that acre of back hair was just disgusting to watch.

Hmmm... so if Billy Gunn moves on to TNA, do you think we'll se a New Age Outlaws reunion some time in the future?

[edit: whoops, Mr. JL beat me to that New Age Outlaw thing. Sorry about that.]

New New Age Outlaws?

If A-Train had stayed on Smackdown, he'd probably be the one facing JBL for the WWE title at Survivor Series.

Plus, they shaved Big Show's head and Eric Bischoff has a new short haircut (and new color). WWE is out to get us.

Anyway, back on point, I think this will benefit Billy Gunn greatly. I know I'm pretty cruel to the guy sometimes in the Velocity report, but a TNA run might do him some good. He's a decent athlete, and the spot-heavy (and less selling) TNA style is closer to what he's good at. I don't know if they'd try a 4 Live Kru or what (maybe bring Gunn in with Jarrett's posse?).

A-Train might be able to get some work in Japan. They like American hosses over there, and he's not terrible. He'll obviously not reach Vader- or Stan Hansen-like success over there, but he could make some good money and keep active until the next time Vince is on a nostalgia kick.

Shame about Billy, I've always supported him even when others said he completely sucked, he still had more talent than half the WWE roster.

Glad to see the back (no pun intended) of A-Train though.

A-Train had some direction on Smackdown and then they traded him to Raw and I can't remember much happening with him since.

For you TNA fans, don't get your hopes up if you think they're gone forever, next thing you know, they're on TNA next couple of weeks!!!

I didn't find A-Train all that bad, A-Train was actually a great wrestler. The hair on his back is part of his wrestling image, as a matter of fact, I think A-Train is a huge fan of King Kong Bundy ('cause Bundy had hair on his back too).

I could care less about Billy Gunn though. He wasn't around WWE much anyways.

That match was ok too!
not brilliant, but entertaining.

I think with A-train, he served his purpose.

Similar to BIlly Gunn. Billy really had to leave, he's been in the WWE too long, and has not done anything of significance since loosing to Jamie Noble

I'm glad to see A-Train and Gunn gone. Test is a little bit of a shame, I always thought he could be a lot more than he was, but I can't say I'll miss him.

Fox
11-01-2004, 09:49 PM
Pretty sad, really. All three of these guys had some pretty good potential that was never realized to its fullest extent. Lets look at their highest points in the WWE:

Billy Gunn: King of the Ring, feud with The Rock, NAO, Intercontinental Champion

A-Train: Feud with Chris Benoit... Intercontinental Champion

Test: Stephanie/Triple H marriage, vs. Shane McMahon at SummerSlam 99 (probably his best in-ring showing), Intercontinental Champion

I really thought Test had something special about him. He was the best tall man in the business, and seemed to me like a much younger Kevin Nash with twice the speed, but half the charisma. They could've done a lot more with Test than they did, and he's really the only one I'm going to miss.

Mayo
11-01-2004, 09:53 PM
Everything went downhill for Test after the "marriage" to Steph was broken up by HHH, as his face push with Stacy didn't go over well enough and nobody cared about him as a heel after. Billy Gunn was getting kind of old and has lost a step in the ring already, but he was still somewhat entertaining. A-Train was probably the best of all three of these guys as his back hair would get him instant heat every night, although he would never make it past the midcards. As long as the WWE keeps bringing in some good new talent, I don't mind the loss of these guys too much.

Damn, this is some bad news. All three of those guys are inactive, but I think A-Train & Billy Gunn are able to return soon. I think Billy Gunn is likely to end up in TNA (since it is near his home), and I can see him being a major player there. I can see Gunn interfereing in the Ladder Match, and either taking the title for himself, or beating down Hall, Nash, Hardy and/or Jarret. In coming weeks you could build the tension between BG and BG James, but then have James side with Gunn, and turn on Killings and Konnan (or have them sort of become a "4 Live Kru").

A-Train was fairly talented, and it's a shame to see him go. He might end up in TNA as the partner of Abyss or something. Jim Mitchell would make a great manager for this guy.

Test is injured, but it wouldn't surprise me if the WWE re-hired him when he is able to return. If not, TNA would be a great place for this guy. It will be interesting to see if Stacy tried to help her boyfriend out in any way, or if she's on protest now he's gone.

Please tell me when any of them even GOTTEN that chance.

For Test & A-Train, I agree 100%. I also agree with you on the standpoint that Billy Gunn never really got a good opportunity. Some people will try and convince you that the WWE did push him, though.

I disagree with this, however, simply because people put The Big Show in the same boat, yet a strong push to the top (with just giving him one win over Brock Lesnar, and putting Paul Heyman in his corner), and he was a full-time main event superstar. I believe if Gunn had been given a role like JBL now, he could have run with the ball as well.

They should have kept A-Train on Smackdown, just to keep mid-card interesting. I think if Test went over to Smackdown he could have done alright. Just like they should have done with Steiner.
