Several sites have started reporting that Billy Gunn has now signed a contrac with TNA. This comes as no surprise since Billy Gunn was just recently released from the WWE for reasons both financial and personal. TNA obviously sees around these problems, or plans to help Billy out. With Impact! taped frequently in Orlando, Florida (Billy's hometown), it is expected he could potentially debut at any time, although he is not expect to right away. It is confirmed that the WWE owns the rights to the name "Billy Gunn", so it's likely we'll see Billy call himself somehting else in TNA.
I hope Billy debuts at Victory Road, helping 3 Live Kru capture the tag team championships (or costing them the match). As for a name, he might end up calling himself "BG Gunn", or something of the like (much like BG James). I hope we eventually see a BG James & BG Gunn (The Outlaws could be a name for these two, since the WWE owns the rights to the New Age Outlaw name) vs. Ron Killings & Konnan (3 Live Kru) feud.

hehe, told ya. If TNA was smart they bring him in at the PPV. Half the fans have no idea Billy Gunn got released.

I think WWE would bitch if he were to use Gunn in the name at all. Since depending on what they want to do, and situationally, etc... that might violate their trademark on it.
I guess it all depends.
They should probably just refer to him as Billy, ala Billy & Chuck.

Or Billy Pistol.
Seriously, though, this is good news all around. And yeah, credit your source, like LC said.

Yeah, but I can see the WWE getting upset about that too. Maybe something like "Shotgun Billy"? :wtf:
Billy Shells? Billy Rounds? RBG? Or maybe they'll combine his real name, WWE name and play with his WWE surname, and call him "Auto-Mo-Billy". :shifty:

yea, Kayfabe nailed it. Just go with Billy. or Billy G. I have a ? though cause I'm not sure. Does the WWE have a trademark on "The Outlaws." Cause they were "The New Age Outlaws." I'm wondering if they could get away with calling themselves "The Outlaws."

I like the idea of Billy G. The Outlaws would be up in the air, I think. On one hand it does sort of reference to their WWE days, but in another it's sort of somehting that theey could get away with. They'll probably call them something oto do with the south-west or something. New Mexican Outlaws, Shoot & Boot/Boot & Shoot, The Phoenix Knights, North America's Most Wanted, BB Guns & Billy G & Brian J are all horrible name I just came up with off the top of my head. If TNA thought about what direction they're taking with Billy & Brian, then I'm sure they'll think of a half-decent name.

I don't know if there's a trademark on "Outlaws". I mean, near the end of WCW, Larry Zybysko and a bunch of other old timers were calling themselves the "Old Age Outlaws". (Though, now that I think about it, I think the WWF did raise a stink about their name.)
I wouldn't worry too much about Billy's name, either. I mean, he has been The One, Billy Gunn, Billy, Mr. Ass, and Assman. I'm sure they'll come up with something out of that potential pool. (Maybe B. A. Billy.)

I would guess the vast majority of TNA fans are internet people, and they would know he's gone from WWE. Judging by their attendance and TV numbers, I think all they have are internet fans.
But it owuld be still good to bring him in.

I think it'd be a cool move if TNA scooped up Rico and Chuck as well, and stuck them back with Billy for a while anyway. Makes for an instant feud with 3LK, leading to some cool six-man tags and such.
At some point, Billy and James split from their respective groups, and re-form NAO.
Just a thought that would make for a complete storyline, something not seen all that much nowadays.
Yeah really, almost anything can help shape up TNA. Billy Gunn is no Rock or Austin, but he can improve the roster in terms of established guys. I could see him coming in to help 3 Live Kru as previously mentioned, or maybe team up with Johnny Swinger or something.

Or Mr Willy Butt. It sort of plays of Billy Gunn AND Mr Ass in a way.

If the Ultimate Warrior can call himself the Warrior, the NAO can call themselves the Outlaws

Instead of B. A Billy, how about B. A. Gunn?
B. G James and B. A. Gunn: The Modern Day Outlaws.

Good idea. I can see them definately using an initial in Billy's TNA name somehow. I love the name "The Modern Day Outlaws". :y:

Could he no be called Billy Gun (minus 1 n?) Like Taz - Tazz, Rhyno - Rhino, Bubba Ray Dudley - Buh Buh Ray Dudley. Can you not just change the spelling?
Billy Gun and BG James - The Modern Day Outlaws.... I like it :y:

Cant wait for The Outlaws to get back together. They were my favorite tag team and I think it would be great to see them together in TNA. As soon as I read that he was released I knew that TNA would pick him up. That would be perfect for them.

I would personally just go with "The Outlaws." If you remember, that's how JR always referred to them after a while. People just know them as "the Outlaws." Kind of like how we call "The Ministry of Darkness," "The Ministry."

True, but Warrior is a different case....he legally changed his name, as in his real life first name to...The Warrior.

Wait, with all this assumption of an Outlaws reunion, maybe we should all consider a possible SWERVE! with Vince Russo in the driver's seat (if he's actually booking hte PPV). Maybe Orlando, Florida's hometown hero Billy Gunn can run down to the ring wearing a custom made "Outlaw" with shirt with the state of Florida on it, during the NWA Tag Title Match. The ref is down, Bobby Roode/Eric Young is in position for the Fame Asser, but Gunn skips right past Roode/Young and hits it on BG James!. Gunn then take soff his American "Outlaw" shirt revealing a white shirt with a red maple leaf on it with "Conformist". Billy Gunn then betrays his hometown, and former partner and becomes the only American in Team Canada.

oh god no. That would be like the worst move you can do with him. You got to give the fans what they want with TNA and they don't want to see Billy Gunn as a heel, who is a singles guy. They want to see the Outlaws and I bet they will pay to come see the Outlaws. You got to put him with James.

Well, that was quick. One thing though the people who are expecting him to be at the PPV, I don't think it's very likely that he'll turn up tonight. He will turn up on Impact one week. I'm kinda amazed that Spanky can be called Spanky in TNA. I thought that name was used by the WWE. But, what do I know? Did he use that name in ROH? Or wherever he was from before WWE? ANd THE Outlaws could be good. Or The Old Age Outlaws. :?:

Spanky's been using that all his career, I think. The WWE called him Brian Kendrick, then started using his name, Spanky.

They would be angry at first, but who knows, maybe it could have been a plan by Billy Gunn all along to destroy Team Canada? :shifty:
I wouldn't mind seeing that happen, as Billy Gunn as a heel would be interesting, especially in his hometown constantly. I'd rather see him get a singles push as a face, though.
I'd rather see Gunn join as a face, then turn heel later on down the road.

nWo 4 Life mentioned an NAO reunion in the released thread with A-Train and Test. Personally, I thought it was going to happen too, but my computer wouldn't let me reply for some reason.
Anyway, you guys may not remember, but for about a month after Mr. Ass was "Censored" by RTC, he was referred to as Billy G, before The One Billy Gunn became his official moniker.
So there may be some complications with him being referred to as BA Billy G.
But be that as it may, TNA would be stupid to NOT do an Outlaws reunion, even a short lived one, like WWE did with a new DX at the 2001 SurvSer (Gunn, Chyna, Dogg and K-Kwik).

Well, hopefully he'll do good things in TNA. He was very underused the last two years.
