Respect that, but I compare TNA right now to the Washington Wizards 2 or 3 yrs ago.
If you guys remember, a couple of years back the Washington Wizards has some great young talent and were doing pretty decent. But the problem was that nobody came to see the games. They didn't generate fan interest and thus no profit.
Then what happens?
Jordan comes back, not even close to what he used to be as far as skills go, and they are drawing sell out crowds all the time. Now the Wizards did get a little better with him, and I think motivation of the younger players to play with Jordan had a lot to do with that, but Jordan wasn't some superstar or anything.
But people saw how entertaining Jordan was before, so that generated into the fans feeling more confident about what they were getting with Jordan.
With TNA, fans know Nash, Hall, Piper etc... They have been entertained by them before, so they are more loyal to them because of that. This hopefully will generate into fans paying to see them. Guys liek Williams, Brown, Shane, Skipper, Daniels are great and all, but most fans have no clue who they are and wouldn't spend a dime on something they are not sure about.
Think of your own purchasing behavior. Say you have toothpaste or a shoe company, or a drink that you always buy or buy from. Now say something new comes out that looks cool and looks good, but which are you more leaning towards buying? The same kind of product you have been buying for years in which you know exactly what you're getting or the new product in which you have no idea how it will turn out and one that has some risks involved.
That last paragraph was the marketing major in me BTW :) Sorry,
Oh and what I posted is only good for short term. In the long run, they will have to make some stars out of their younger talent and keep going.

"Hi, we're TNA. We have a limitless pool of talent on our hands but all we can do is bring in a bunch of old guys to hold them down, and we brought in one of the biggest backstage politicians in the history of the business to help the Chosen Daddy's Boy go over the one viable title contender in the company that people have actually heard of. Forget about the X Division we've built half hte company around, hell forget about building up a decent company that could be the future of the industry given the current state of WWE, all we want to do is recreate the dying days of WCW."
Somebody carve them a tombstone already. They'll need it soon enough.

^^Did you read my post or not?
Decent company" That company is losing money every day. I don't know, but when if I was losing money, I change things up a little.
People can give a flying shit about just about all of TNA's roster. Those guys won't bring in the casual fan. But Hall, Nash, Savage, Piper, Hogan, DDP, you bet they will.
If they don't play politics and bury all the TNA guys, then it's all good. What guys like Hall and Nash etc... do is giev guys like Styles, Williams, Shane, Skipper, AMW, and all those other Indy guys exposure to the casual fan. Trust me, you need the veterans.

There is a reason why ROH or XPW (does that even exist still) or whatever doesn't have a National TV Deal.

I just hope they don't blow their load all at once. All of a sudden you have a flurry of name talent coming in,... Hall, Nash, Piper, Savage and rumors DDP joining as well. Hogan was apprently backstage as well. There are always rumors of Sting and now rumors of all the released WWE guys.
TNA cannot forget about guys like Abyss, Styles (Most IMPORTANT Player on the roster), Monty Brown (who the TNA crowd loves), Raven (If they job Raven out I will KILL SOMEONE), Hardy(who is 50/50 with the crowd), Killings (needs a good feud)
They need a good TV deal on Monday Night. I think they could take Raw in a heartbeat.

Yeah, I said I wasn't purchasing Victory Road PPV on Sunday but I saw it for free anyways, since I was at my aunts on the weekend and she get illegal sattelite.
Missed the first two matches but I'll tell you the best match was, AJ styles vs Petey Williams was a sweet match; I loved it.
Also seeing the Outsiders was awesome and Macho Man back, which was reminiscent of his return in WCW awhile back where it just showed his feet walking, then he came in the ring with a two by four in a battle royal. If history plays out Macho Man isn't comming back to TNA, as he never showed up in WCW after that big comeback he made in WCW.
Back on topic, great news DDP is back in TNA.
Something about PDD joining TNA but LC edited my post for whatever reason

Billy Gunn & Sting debut and lead up a "TNA Resistance against "The Outsiders" while the Steiner Brothers join The Outsiders and win the NWA Tag Team Championship.
Sorry, I couldn't resist the opportunity. ;)
But seriously that looks like a good edition. Maybe we will see more on Kid Kash vs. Jimmy Snuka (I'm hoping for a Coconut Match at Turning Point) and the whole Outsiders situation. I would like to see the TNA roster distrust Macho Man as well.
I agree with LC 100% on the old stars in TNA situation. I think as long as the old stars don't gain full dominance over the company. As long as they keep the wins fairly even, and keep creative control in the hands of the bookers, we should be good. :y:
