Yeah it's Sammartino, his first title reign was was about 7 years 7 months, and his second reign was about 3 years and 5 months.

Sammartino's got a decade on most of the other champions.

what

that means that two wrestlers held the title for a combined seventeen or so years. I thought the WWF started in the mid 80's. that doesn't make sense at all.

I think they where around before then. They just became national/international in the 80's.Before then it was territories and stuff.

The WWE went mainstream in the 80s. The WW(W)F came in at the latest in the 60s. The first champion was Buddy Rogers in 1963.

The company, however, has been around, from what I understand, since the early-mid 1900s, when it was a boxing company.

It was indeed started in the early 1900s by Jess McMahon

Why am I not suprised that Triple H is on there? Lets just hope he never decides to make it to number 1. The last thing we need is a 7 year Triple H title reign.

I dont know what's worse, a 7 year reign by triple h, or what he's doing now. keeping them in moderate spurts, losing, and then winning it right back. i bet when it's all said and done if you take all of his title reigns and add it up together it will be over 7.
