just found i got the time wrong, its on at midday here in oz...WOO HOO!!!!
PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ let Booker win the title. I can't think of anyone more deserving to have their virgin title run in the WWE. and if he doesnt win it now (unless he wins thje rumble or gets a rematch) he'll never win it :'(
SO PLEASE give him the title!!!
to put it another way:
I will have a :D if Booker T gets the :y: from JBL. For doing this, I will  Vince McMahon until his next :wtf: moment. If booker looses, first i'll have a :'( and will shout :nono: and be . if this happens, :foc: Vince. I will never  for your product again and will always be :-\ about it.
So come on, give me a  booker and put a :) on my face.
hehehe, that was so
Booker T has done nothing special to deserve the WWE title. I think WWE is planning on putting the belt on Big Show next month anyway.

That's true, but I think it would be a good retirement gift for someone who although hasn't "revolutionalised" the business, has contributed more than most people. It would also be better for storylines if JBL could never appear on SmackDown! again, and had to "buy" RAW or start a new promotion.

sadly it's true. But he does deserve 1 title reign before he retires.

How does he "deserve" a title run? Just because he's been in the business a long time doesn't mean he deserves anything.

I think Booker should have a title reign (Heavyweight title) even if it just is for one month. He got cut short on Raw due to HHH, and by beating JBL he could be a decent champ on Smackdown. I personally dont think he could be like a superior title holder by holding it more than 3 months or having a run like JBL did, but he could be a decent champ. I do like Booker, I think he should have the title instead of JBL, but something tells me that hes not quite world heavyweight championship material...you know? Although he does deserve it :)

its fucked, its fucked, its completely fucked!
Booker T's time is gone. I mean, even though he's a face now, it wouldn't look good to put the WWE Title on a guy who just lost a Best of 5 series with Smackdown's (arguably) top face.
Booker T's time to win the title was at WrestleMania XIX vs. Triple H. He needed to win it then, as it would've been a huge moment and he was more than over enough to carry the belt for at least a couple months. But he jobbed, and he will never win the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship.
Sorry.

I'm with MVP. He didnt do anything special. His promos aren't anything special. His in ring performance is becoming very sloppy. He lost the best of 5 series pretty much straight after he won the US title. He's lost practicaly all credibility. His peak has long gone.
JBL has some funny promos, like the "Hey Josh, Hows the family? *tunes out* You know what Josh?". He plays his gimmick well. You shouldnt blame JBL for the "lack of ratings" over and over again, blame it on the guy who told John Cena to make a rap about Michael Cole being gay instead of a rap about being champ again.

ok, i have heard that a tell-tale sign of a wrestler (or person) on steriods is that there tummy pops out like they have a beer gut.
Looking at Kurt Angle at SS, that was exacty how he looked. My assumption, either:
Kurt is on roids or,
tummy popping out is not actually the case.
Question, alrtho we know SFA, does any1 think kurt could be on steroids?

Of course, this IS ignoring the fact that he was a FIVE TIME Heavyweight champion in WCW...
Booker T does deserve it -- and here's why. He came over with the WCW crowd and was completely and totally misused and mishandled. He came over as a 5-time champ, and was jobbed to everyone short of Gilberg. He didn't complain once, showing his attitude as a "team" player that earned him respect in WCW.
He's never even really been given a legitimate chance to shine. NO ONE here can tell me Booker T's ring work is sloppier than JBL's, and NO ONE here can tell me he less credibility than JBL did when he first won the title.
It would have been nice for Booker T to have the title, if only for a month. Would have been a nice going away present. I mean, let's face it. JBL is a placeholder, nothing more. Booker T could have been a placeholder for a month until Big Show destroyed him for the title. Then Booker could retire as a rare specimen - a new star that had held both the WCW and WWE top titles.
But, eh. As I said in another thread, I would have purchased the encore webcast if Booker had won. It was the only match I was interested in, and I was only interested because Booker was involved. They didn't let Booker win, so I'll continue to not watch WWE programming because it's boring as all hell. I would have even watched SMACKDOWN (shudders) if Booker had won, but he didn't, so I won't.
Not that WWE cares. Vince hasn't cared a lick about a fan in ages. He's going by the old adage - "if you're ratings are failing, just pretend that you know what the fans want and do whatever the hell you want."

It wouldn't have meant much if he won the title or not. Smackdown was BY far the bigger show at the time.
