I'm new here, so be gentle LOL! I just think Raw needs another top heel other than Triple H/Evolution, and Benoit is so much better as a heel than a face. Also, It gives the faces someone other than Triple H/Evolution to face on high profile matches.
Orton's distracted for now, so maybe he could feud with Jericho? Havent seen that feud for a long time, would be interesting to add to that rivalry, and its also a lot more interesting to watch than HBK V HHH for the umpteenth time! There are way too many top faces on Raw at the moment anyway, the fans want to see a few babyfaces up against(and overcoming) the odds, and I think the odds are too even at the minute. What do you all think to a Benoit heel turn then?

Benoit being the crippler again would be awesome

He just needs to snap on someone. Randy or most likley Y2J. Just all of a sudden have him grab his arm and lock in the crossface till Y2J passes out, then walk off with no explanation. He could then feud with Y2J, which would produce some awesome matches.

I agree. Benoit has so much intensity. I would mark out huge if he suddenly kicked the shit out of Jericho.

Man that feud with Y2J back in 2000 was awesome. "Chris Benoit: Mr. Robotto"

Fairly good grammar. A unique thread (as opposed to a thread titled "I hate HHH." or it's equivalent "I HATEZORZ HHHzzzxzq{}~~`~") And you make some good points, so I'll give you a rep to start you out here.

As for your idea, you're right about Orton being held up. Unlike my counterparts here, I haven't quite given up on him yet. He'll be on top again soon (and I'll rub loose cannon's nose in it too!) But you're forgetting about Edge. He's being shown as a damn good wrestler who either gets screwed out of winning or never gets a chance to win in the first place. If you're talking about evening up the odds, I'd suggest you work with him. That's not to say that you idea about Benoit isn't completely undoable. In fact, it could be downright inspiring.

Imagine a new team of Benoit and Edge rising to the top after the downfall of Evolution. Both characters could work well together as an angry couple of badasses who aren't gonna get screwed out of anything anymore. Even when they're bested in the ring by a babyface like Jericho or Orton, one could come out and help the other retain their title (because they know they're better and losing would be like getting screwed out of the title and they're not gonna let that happen again...)

So that leaves some empty spaces on Raw. Particularly with HHH. Personally, I think Raw has enough star power without him to draw viewers. Give him to Smackdown after Evolution is over.

Actually, now that I think about it...he could move to smackdown and start a whole NEW evolution with three new wresters. It's like starting a good thing all over again. He'll be happy being in the limelight, and Raw can experiment with some new storylines. It'll be fun. I'll go tell Vince......

its great, heel benoit, crippling ppl everywhere would be awesome.

but alas....it wont happen on Raw...not whilst the triple H show is playing.
Look at the heels on raw at the moment.

You have:
Evolution
Conway and Grenier - tag team heels
Edge - more of a loner than a heel
Christian - been reduced to a comedy act.

i guess if you tunred benoit, he'd be similar to Edge's character...however, idoubt it will happen anytime soon...and if it does, i doubt he'll get the title whilst HHH is around

Bentoit makes a much better Face then a Heel.

What I would like to see is a Tweener turn, with leanings towards the Face side.

What I mean is that he can fight Heels and Faces and cripple them and stuff because he wants to show everybody why he is the best.

He should have also never left the World Title scene. I mean, he was practically screwed out of the title the day after Summerslam (He was kicking Orton's ass and Orton only won because of Evolution) so it makes no sense to have him not try to get it back.

I think Beniot should retire, he sucks way to much to do anything else. As for Orton, he too should retire for the same reason as beniot.

I'm curious as to why you say that?
why does Benoit suck?

Benoit/Jericho feud produced some massively good matches.

That Ladder match and the Submission match were both excellent.

Benoit can still go in the ring. He doesn't have to turn to flops or cartoonish antics with flips and crap to be known as a great, technical wrestler. He has the intensity and the skill to make it, it's just no one wants real wrestling anymore.

So, to finally answer the question at hand, no heel turn for Benoit.. yet. But I love the idea of Benoit just snapping.. just imagine, Benoit crippling Orton out of the blue and would have a reason for it, for the title loss. All that anger in him that was just waiting to come out... it would help out RKO and Benoit in the end.

Oh, and another Jericho/Benoit fued = RATINGS....

I was toying this up in my head just before, and I came read this thread and I thought this would be the best place to put it. But anyway, welcome to the boards.

I'm hoping that next week we see a different set for WWE RAW, and we see it become "RAW is Jericho" (and Sunday Night Heat gets modifyed to WWE Hightlight Reel for a night). Jericho comes out and announces a few matches here, and a few matches there. I'm thinking Chris Jericho vs. Triple H in a Submission Match with Evolution barred from ringside under penalty of suspension. Then we could see William Regal & Eugene vs. La Resistance in Flag/Brass Knuckles on a Pole Match (the flag in one corner, the knuckles in another). Maybe Gene Snitsky vs. Batista in a Lingerie Pillow Fight (just for kicks and giggles), and if either man doesn't like it, he can be suspended. Maven could take on Ric Flair, and Rosey can be booked to take on Simon Dean. Shelton Benjamin and Randy Orton can have the night off, or we can see Benjamin vs. Coach for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Anyway, the important three are Chris Jericho vs. Triple H, Batista vs. Gene Snitsky & a tag team match with Christian & Tyson Tomko vs. Chris Benoit & Edge.

In the tag team match, Edge and Christian appear to want ot tear each other to shreds, but instead they turn all their rage to Benoit. A three-on-one beatdown ensures, and we see Christian pin Benoit. Benoit gets taken away on a stretcher after a con-chair-to. Benjamin runs down to stop any further beatdowns and to check on his partner from last week, Chris Benoit.

Triple H tells Batista to lie-down for Snitsky. Triple H could even make a joke out of this if Jericho made it a Lingerie Pillow Fight. Batista refuses and Triple H reminds him of what role he plays. Trips doesn't want Snitsky coming after him. We see Batista go out there, but instead of lying down, Batista and Snitsky have a brawl which is broken up by Triple H & Ric Flair. Batista loses the match via countout.

Triple H doesn't have anytime to address Batista, however, since his match is next. Jericho and Triple H proceed to have a good match. Maybe even Maven, Benjamin, Eugene, Regal, Rhyno, Tajiri, The Hurricane, Rosey and/or Orton could run out on Chris Jericho's behalf? Maybe Christian, Coachman, Tyson Tomko, Gene Snitsky, Rob Conway, Sylvain Grenier, Simon Dean and/or Edge could run down to protect the champ (Evolution could have offered them a bit of cash). After a massive brawl ensures (or we don't see the run-ins, save for maybe Maven), we see ringside empty, or only occupied by Maven, with the other parites battling in the crowds or near the announce tables. Benoit walks to the ring which turns a few heads. Christian could even run when he sees Benoit.

Anyway, Maven looks happy to see The Rabid Wolverine, but when Maven turns his back, Benoit throws him into the ringsteps. Benoit then takes Jericho down hard and puts him in the Crippler Crossface. Jericho taps and the referee is forced to somehow make this a decision (maybe Triple H could put an inverted figure four on the other end of Jericho). We leave RAW with Jericho beating down Jericho, leading into the week with Benoit in charge of RAW. I could even see Benoit punishing Jericho by putting him in an ECW Rules Match with Rhyno, which Jericho loses.

Anyway, this whole scenario doesn't turn Benoit stone cold heel, but more of a guy pissed off at a face for setting him up. Benoit could think Jericho did that on purpose. Maybe while the beatdown was happening, Christian was yelling "Thank Jericho for this!". But basically we see Benoit & Jericho feud, with Shelton Benjamin trying to get on the same page, only for them both to demand his loyalty. Benoit & Rhyno vs. Benjamin & Jericho would be an interesting feud, IMO. Eventually down the line you can have Jericho earning up to putting Benoit in the match with the intention he would be injured.

What a surprise BDC you base your opinion on nothing once again, jackass.

Anyway, Benoit shouldn't turn heel anytime soon cos of his feud with Edge and the faces are controlling raw so it would be pointless if he turned heel straight after his team won the SS match wouldn't it? Maybe after he and edge feud, thats when he could turn. I'm going fo a maven heel turn soon though, i think on the final week of the month, when its Ortons turn, they should have some tag team match for the main event against evolution, then Maven costs the faces the match and joins with Evolution. You know i could really see that happening.

I'm not to sure about the Benoit heel turn yet but would love to see it after his current feud with Edge.

No, only people who know what they're talking about when it comes to wrestling like Benoit, stupid jackasses like you just hate for no reason.Throw as many insults from the comfort of your computer as you like, but Benoits gonna be around for a while so live with it.

I personally don't think Chris Benoit is a wrestling Jesus, and I would rather see Val Venis on my television instead. There is no denying Benoit is a great wrestler, but let's just face the fact not every person who watches wrestling has to like Benoit. Especially since he does have that stale factor around him. A push as a sadistic animal could really change that.

No, what would help Beniot is retiring or if he decided to be entertaining instead of simply claiming to be the best damn techincal wrestler in the world. That doesn't mean a god damn thing. Beniot sucks, and he had the worst title run ever. He sucks, and his matches suck, and he is the least entertaining perosn on the entire show. Plus he is all roided out.

I personally think Bentoit is currently the best booked wrestler on the roster..... match-wise and not story-line wise that is.

When he gets in there he goes right at the opponent and doesn't let up. I totally mark out seeing him just plain kicking ass (See: his match on Raw), and the crowd does to as they start to get majorly behind him. I'll admit that he doesn't get the biggest pop during his initial entrance but it picks up.

Thanks for the good feedback guys! I do like the idea of Benoit snapping, I think it's the only way a Benoit heel turn would work. Imagine weeks of build up where Benoit loses a few matches and you can see him getting more and more pissed off then suddenly he flips and cripples EVERYONE in the ring, not just the faces!
Yeah, I did forget Edge in my equation, I guess I just don't see him as a main eventer yet. I think Edge could pull off a decent feud with Benoit, but I have to admit I was drooling at the prospect of Benoit having a credible main event feud(not necessarily involving the title), and as I said, I don't consider Edge to be quite there yet.
As for BDC's comments about Benoit, I think we're all entitled to our opinions, but I would like to see more basis to the argument than just saying Benoit sucks.

The thing about this is, I really think Rhyno should be the loose cannon on the RAW roster. :-\

I liked Benoit in 2000 as the real intense heel. He was just an ice cold fighter who would beat anyone that stood in his way. After watching his DVD and looking back I did use to love those promos. Just the simple way he would say in an intense voice "You will submit and tap out! Cause I'm the greatest technical wrestler today!"

Yeah I remember actually liking those promos too. I liked his "prove me wrong" thing too.

During his promo on RAW where he said he didn't have a catchphrase I was thinking "Prove him wrong, he's 4 Real, because he's the best damn technical wrestler in the world today."

I really wish he would bring back the old "Prove me wrong!" line. In three words he basically challenges anyone and everyone on the roster, while also stating that he already knows the outcome is going ot be them tapping out. Great catchphrase right there.
