View Full Version : Who should be called up?

Who (if anyone) should be called up to the WWE roster from OVW, right now, in your opinion? Include people who you really think the WWE should hire (and would be willing to work for them).

I think right now the tag team division should be top priority for the WWE, and I can't think if a better way than to have Johnny Nitro & Danny Inferno from OVW get called up to SmackDown!. Give them a tag team name, give them matching attire patterns, have Melina accompany them to the ring, and give them a theme with lyrics. Maybe have them "Carlito" the Tag Team Titles, and have them take them from 619-RVD the week after they win them, then have a rematch at Armageddon in a Fatal Fourway Tag Team Match, where the first team to pin wins. Have Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak and Rene Dupree & Kenzo Suzuki enter as well.

I think Kurt Angle should bring in an official referee to side with his guys soon, as well. There's a new referee in OVW under the name of Goose Mahoney. For some reason he reminds me of Kurt Angle. Maybe they can call him Matt Angle and have him show up as Kurt Angle's brother or nephew?

Aaron Stevens has six years experience, so he could be good on RAW or SmackDown!. This guy really looks like Edge, so maybe they can call him Aaron Copeland or something? He also has the body to be a partner to Simon Dean, or he could simply serve as Steven Richards' partner. Another idea is to have him come out at Armageddon and accept Kurt Angle's hometown challenge, since Angle feels so confident about beating The Big Show (they have a #1 Contender's Match) after Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak have beat him down, that he can wrestle twice in one night. Angle then loses to Stevens, and has him join Kurt's stable as a mid-card heel, and as a way to refocus Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak, since they lost a tag title match earlier at Armageddon. Aaron then calls himself "The Idol" to go along with the "The Three "I"s" thing going on, and can announce himself as being form whichever town SmackDown!'s in, as a way to "bring glory to their pathetic town".

Back to the tag team division. I wouldn't mind seeing Joey Matthews and Johnny Spade brought in as a tag team under Doug Basham as part of a new "Revolution".

So who (if anyone) do you want to see brought up to the RAW or SmackDown! brands?

I personally think the WWE should bring in a few of TNA's superstars, just to take away from their product. TNA are trying to get the WWE's attention, and have done so, and most responses by the WWE to this would result in TNA also getting attention from fans. A situation I can see hurting TNA in the short-term is WWE signing a few of their wrestlers.

Team Canada would make good signees to the WWE. Scott D'Amore, Petey Williams, Eric Young, Bobby Roode and Johnny Devine (I don't know if he would go to the WWE since they used an angle similiar to his real life experience). They can defy the brand logic, and show up on RAW and SmackDown! frequently. Then they can have Chris Jericho join them, beforing heading over to SmackDown!.

Chris Sabin is another guy who could do well in the WWE. He fits in really well witht he cruiserweight division, and with the lack of direction the division has right now, SmackDown! would be better off because of it.

Alex Shelley, Monty Brown, Abyss, Mikey Batts, Jerrelle Clark, Christopher Daniels and Michael Shane would all make good WWE superstars, IMO, but out of all of them, I can see maybe one or two in the WWE.

Would Matt Morgan be experienced enough yet? Just last year they pulled the plug on him before he got too far in, so maybe they should at least wait until he has four years experience?

He's definately good, a lot of potential, too, and with Tough Enough on, now would be the ideal time to push him, but I'm wondering if he's still improving or not.

I think no matter who they "bring up" it will flop. Fans don't care about any new stars. Anybody they bring up will have to have a winning record of .500 for at least a year before anybody starts caring. Bringing people in out of no where is bad because the fans just don't care about them.

IN all honesty , I dont think WWE should bring anyone in. Look at there roster and look at whom they actually use. WWE has many talented wrestlers that are rarely ever seen on there show. After the 10 cuts that the WWE just made I beleive they should strongly focus on the talen they have. Bringing in new guys will just push down the talent they already have. We already no that they are receiving one new guy from the tough enough series (I hope to God its Puder).

I've said this several times in other threads, but for the most-part I think you are right in saying that the current talent is not used to maximum potential. I would LOVE it if the WWE did something extremely unexpected and had either a third brand replace WWE Experience, and then making Heat, Velocity and what would be the third brand's WWE "B" show (Thunder, maybe?). This would allow a third of both brands to be freed up, and more guys to be called up to fill the lower cards on any of the third brands. With new talent like Carlito Caribbean Cool, Batista, John Cena, Randy Orton, Doug Basham, Danny Basham, Muhammad Hassan, Khasrow Daivari, Heidenreich, Gene Snitsky, Matt Hardy, Kane, the Tough Enough 4 Winner, Maven, Orlando Jordan, Garrison Cade, Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak to establish as a new wrestling generation headed into a new era, 9 hours of programming a week could really allow these guys to get their share. People like Val Venis, Steven Richards, Nunzio, Funaki, Scotty 2 Hotty, Shannon Moore, Hardcore Holly & Orlando Jordan to benefit as well.

Another of my ideas is to have RAW and SmackDown! basically get replaced entirely (title wise) with say WWE Nitro and WWE Heat presented by WWE RAW, as well as WWE Velocity and WWE Thunder being the flagship shows for the SmackDown! brand. All four of these shows are two hours, so we can get new talent, as well as exposing all the others. This would allow build-ups of approximately eight hours each month. This could argueably be enough for each brand to have either a brand exlusive PPV, or a dual-brand PPV every month.

IMO, even though it sucked that half the women's division got fired, it could be a minor blessing in disguise. If Shaniqua has upped her game and cooled her attitude problem call her up, and if she's still part of the company (I think she is) then call up Alexis Laree. Also, I gotta agree with Aussie and Alienoid, it's gotta be Matt Morgan, to be honest before Carlito was included in SS, I thought Matt was gonna get the call and join Angle's stable. So, Shaniqua, Aleixs and Morgan

Well Shaniqua's out because he's been released now, but I agree with you in saying Alexis Laree. There are also some other women in OVW that the WWE can use as well.

I've seen Petey Williams and Bobby Roode wrestle and they're both great. They could work well in the WWE.

I would LOVE to see them join SmackDown! as the heels that don't care what anyone thinks. A Kurt Angle, Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak vs. Petey Williams, Bobby Roode & Eric Young feud would rule all kinds of ass. If they add Charlie Haas/Billy Kidman and Johnny Devine/Scott D'Amore in there, that feud would be on my wet dream list.
