Somebody's Gotta Die

TOP 53 WWE Wrestlers - RAW + SmackDown! (ratings based mostly on talent, staleness and performance lately):

1. Kurt Angle - still one of the best workers in the business... Can get a good match out of just about anyone... Really over and entertaining...

2. Eddie Guerrero - excellent worker... Amazing charisma... Can work excellent matches with Big Show or JBL...

3. Chris Benoit - one of those old-school guys you need out there to remind you of the old days... Works amazing matches... Not too over though...

4. Triple H - you may hate him and get tired of his overexposure, but he can work great matches when in the spotlight main event... He's been way too exposed, but has pretty good charisma and knows how to work...

5. Chris Jericho - lately, he hasn't impressed me too much... However, he is still an excellent worker and I'd like to see him invovled in an interesting angle for the title with someone other than HHH...

6. Randy Orton - has went from a mediocre midcarder to a great main event wrestler... His charisma is amazing and he is very, very over... He doesn't carry the matches, but when in the ring with someone pretty good, the results are usually good...

7. Rey Mysterio - one of the most exciting cruiserweights out there... I'd like to see him involved in a long-term feud with Billy Kidman because both have been underexposed and can put on stellar matches, especially with one another...

8. Edge - has really lacked since his injury... However, his heel turn looks pretty fresh and we'll see what kind of interesting feuds can develop... He has been involved in some classics...

9. John Cena - isn't the greatest in-ring star out there, but his charisma is remarkable and if he's in there with an Angle, Guerrero, Mysterio, RVD, UnderTaker, Booker T, Charlie Haas, etc., the match will be great...

10. Christian - his charisma is exciting and he's one of the funniest guys in the business... He could indeed main event one day in my opinion... I enjoyed his feud with Benjamin, it showcased the two best midcarders in my opinion...

11. Rob Van Dam - if he is given a Hardcore match or something that fits his fighting style, he can put on an incredible showcase... His in-ring game has been stale lately, but he is still over though and if he turns heel, I would love to see some great feuds...

12. Shelton Benjamin - great talent... Could main event one day if he improves his charisma... Lots of potential...

13. The UnderTaker - bonafide star... Works great matches out of the Big Show or JBL and he even made decent work out of Heidenreich... Legend...

14. Booker T - has lost his edge, but I would love to see him take the title at Armageddon... If he gets more over as a face and if he is given more time, he could truly make one last great run before retirement...

15. Charlie Haas - amazing in-ring talent... I don't care for this business with Dawn Marie and Miss Jackie, but at least he's on SmackDown! that way... He deserves a U.S. title run soon...

16. Tajiri - such an exciting cruiserweight that brings a dynamic style to the WWE... Works great matches out of lots of people...

17. Chavo Guerrero - has lost his edge since his injury and hasn't been too over... Another run with Eddie in the future might be huge for the SmackDown! tag-team division... Great cruiserweight talent...

18. Rhyno - Doesn't carry matches but he can be pretty over if given the right feud... He is a dynamic heavyweight who is exciting when working matches that suit his style... Rhyno-RVD in a Hardcore match surely wouldn't disappoint...

19. The Hurricane - His gimmick has gotten really stale, but he's still one of the top cruiserweights in the company... Can work pretty exciting matches with other cruiserweights...

20. Billy Kidman - Hasn't been having 5-star classics lately, but I know he can get a lot better if he is given the right feud with the right style... One of the top cruiserweights...

21. D-Von Dudley - Very underrated tag-team talent... Can work excellent matches and has a good wrestling arsenal... D-Von is a big risk-taker...

22. John Bradshaw Layfield - People may argue, but he's gotten a lot better lately and has really gotten over with the crowd... I'd like to see him lose the title at Armageddon, but he is still a pretty decent midcard/top talent heel to have on the roster...

23. Paul London - He can have amazing cruiserweight matches if given the opportunity... Good cruiserweight... Very exciting style...

24. Batista - He will get better as time goes on... He certainly can't carry matches but he's a good heel talent to have on the roster... I love his character development...

25. Val Venis - Most underrated and underexposed worker on the roster... He can put on classics if given the chance in the right scenario... I'm just grateful he wasn't released so I don't mind to have him on the roster....

26. Bubba Dudley - Great tag talent... Dudleys have gotten VERY stale with their underexposure lately, but they are dynamic risk-takers that certainly suit SmackDown!'s tag-team development...

27. Matt Hardy - He's been gone for a while, but when he comes back, we'll see how he works... Pretty huge midcard talent to have on the roster and the Hardy-Rey Mysterio feud will truly be remembered for some extraordinary matches...

28. Mark Jindrak - Good talent... Has an amazing dropkick... I like him in a tag-team scenario with Luther because he does not need to carry matches... He will evolve with time, glad to see he didn't make the release cut...

29. Hardcore Holly - Still a great midcarder... Really good worker who understands how to carry a wrestling match... Very stale and low charisma, but he has been with the company for a really long time...

30. Nunzio - Very hard worker and a dynamic cruiserweight... We'll see how he evolves on his own without Johnny Stamboli...

31. Rob Conway - Good worker... Good tag-team wrestler as well... Exciting technical wrestling style... Good to have on the RAW roster...

32. Steven Richards - Very hard worker who has gotten in incredible shape... He has pretty good matches but his overexposure on HEAT has gotten really stale... haha...

33. René Duprée - Great tag-team wrestler and I like him teaming with Suzuki giving them both airtime and less pressure to carry their singles matches... Has gotten a lot better since coming to SmackDown!

34. Orlando Jordan - Really good star... I don't understand his relation to JBL... Once JBL drops the title, I'd like to see Orlando turn face and have a nice feud with JBL... It would be alright I guess, gives Orlando some time to develop charisma as a face...

35. Doug Basham - Really hard tag-team worker and has a pretty hard-hitting exciting style... Quite talented... I like the Bashams and I'd like to see them involved in the tag scene on SmackDown!

36. Maven - Isn't an amazing talent, but he has gotten pretty over and I like to see him as a low RAW midcarder that will develop with time...

37. Spike Dudley - Pretty talented guy... I like to see something different with this heel run, but his matches haven't been amazing lately...

38. Carlito Carribean Cool - Haven't seen too much of him, but he put on a great selling performance to steal Cena's title his opening night and I see hope for Colon...

39. Big Show - Nothing great by all means, but he is a good big man to have on the roster and he can have pretty decent matches if given talented opponents... Face run shouldn't last too long...

40. Luther Reigns - Pretty hard-hitting wrestling and I like him teaming with Jindrak... He will definitely develop and he has a good look that suits the roster...

41. Tyson Tomko - Hasn't had too many matches, but he's been alright... He will get better over time... I like him with Christian because it makes him look a lot better when teamed with such an entertaining performer...

42. Akio - Great cruiserweight, but never given any matches... Basically a jobber on Velocity... Glad to see he hasn't been cut... We'll see what happens with him...

43. Funaki - I don't know where he's been, but I know he is a great worker and a really funny guy and I'm glad to see he hasn't been cut...

44. Shannon Moore - Surprised he hasn't made the cut... Decent cruiserweight worker... He has good matches when in the right scenario but he isn't too over and is pretty stale without Hardy...

45. Kenzo Suzuki - Hasn't looked particularly amazing in his recent performances, however I like him teaming with Duprée and he has potential to get over... Decent midcard or tag guy to have out there, I guess...

46. Sylvian Grenier - I don't mind La Resistance at all, but they've gotten stale... Grenier has potential and he is a good tag guy to have out there... This is the right gimmick for him though, I suppose...

47. Danny Basham - Strong tag worker... Doug Basham is far superior, however he looks pretty good out there and I don't mind the Bashams...

48. Eugene - He had potential to make an amazing debut and develop a phenominal technical style he showed in OVW, however he has been made a comedy act for now... I know he's a good worker though and he is over so what can I say, his ranking will increase with time...

49. Rosey - He isn't that bad, but he was much more effective in a heel tag-team, as opposed to some ridiculous superhero... He's very stale, but I'm surprised he wasn't cut... I wouldn't have cried...

50. Gene Snitsky - This guy is so funny it's bad, but what can I say... I don't mind his role on RAW right now and I'd like to see how he develops with time... I actually don't mind him too much because he makes me laugh...

51. Heidenreich - He bothers me and I don't find him entertaining, especially not as a main eventer... But I don't mind him as a heel with Heyman on the roster as a midcard guy... He could get better, but Heyman would be huge for the announce team....

52. Scotty 2 Hotty - Wow, this guy has sucked and been stale since returning... He can't really work good matches unless it's against Dean Malenko... I'm surprised he hasn't been released, however he has indeed been with the company for a long time... Well, Billy Gunn was released...

53. Viscera - I don't know why he's back... He's pretty garbage... Whatever, I don't mind the one last run of King Mabel... I mark out for him...

NOT INCLUDED DUE TO INACTIVITY OR LACK OF EXPOSURE:

Shawn Michaels - we'll see how good he is when he comes back...

TOP 10 WWE Divas + Wrestlers - RAW + SmackDown!:

1. Victoria - best woman worker for now since Stratus has stopped carrying matches...

2. Trish Stratus - still one of the top women talents out there... Good to see her as a heel, some fresheness...

3. Molly Holly - Strong worker...

4. Lita - Wow, if Lita's #4, they really released too many females...

5. Torrie Wilson - She's okay... Good looking, decent matches sometimes...

6. Dawn Marie - She can work some kind of woman gimmick match pretty well... She's pretty over...

7. Stacy Kiebler - Strong charisma and fan support, but poor in-ring worker...

8. Miss Jackie - Pretty poor in the ring... Miss Jackie vs. Dawn Marie just isn't as exciting as Vince thinks...

9. Christy Hemme - Ugh...

10. Hiroko? - Uh huh...

NOT INCLUDED DUE TO REECENT RELEASE:

Gail Kim (Why?)
Jazz (Bad Move!)
Nidia (Meh...)
Shaniqua (Meh...)

When did they release Garrison Cade?

Good list.

He hasn't been released, but he's been very inactive... I'm thinking he might be working matches in OVW or they are trying to find something new for him, but they could have easily released him and kept Johnny Stamboli and Rico. Garrison would obviously be cheaper for McMahon, but he isn't getting over anytime soon.

Right now Nova is a piss break because he doesn't wrestle or do anything.

Anyhow, nice work on making something no one will read.

lol, HBK is like top 3, fuck that, he's the top worker on the Raw Roster and you didn't even put him on your list cause he's been out for 2 months. Come on.

he put Matt Hardy on the list yet not Kane or HBK when Matt Hardy has been out for longer? i dont get that...

MVP
11-24-2004, 02:45 PM
JBL and Batista should be higher.

Also HBK, Kane, and Cade should be included on the list.

Other than those, not bad.

John la Rock
11-24-2004, 04:33 PM
Randy Orton should be # 1

Nova's segments have been some of the funniest moments on raw the last few weeks. You're probably just really fat, and know he's right about not being able to see your penis.

In the ring, he will probably be very good. But his segments have been far from entertaining. We'll see how his character plays out. I don't see it lasting for the long run...

Nova is just an acrobat. He's not a wrestler. If you consider Nova the model wrestler then there is something seriously wrong with you.

There is nothing acrobatic about a Stunner, legdrop and a DDT delivered at the same time by one guy. That's just insane innovation.

No, that's just overkill.

I've not watched or paid any attention to wrestling for a while, but I fail to see Lance Storms name on that list.

<font color=goldenrod>He retired from active wrestling in April or May I do believe. I'm not sure, but I <i>think</i> his last appearance on Raw was when he was shown backstage/ran out to brawl during the Draft Lottery episode of Raw (8 days after WrestleMania). After that, I think he was just regulated to Heat and decided to hang 'em up because of injury.

He's still employed to the WWE as one of the trainers in OVW.</font>

Yeah, shame about Lance Storm. He was a good worker who deserved more of a push.

On the subject of Nova, his Simon Dean segments are beginning to lose my interest. I mean, the first segment was A+. But it's started to grow stale on me, I don't really give a fuck anymore. Another thing, they always seemd a little forced and... :-\ . It's just not doing it for me anymore. I'm bored of them, and the gimmick is already old, yet he's not even stepped into the ring yet.

We'll see how this Simon Dean thing plays out... I would have loved if Lance Storm was still wrestling because Storm/Regal was a memorable tag-team and the WWE needs good tag-teams right now...
