Well, as no suprise, The Gobbledy Gooker didn't get anywhere close to the Top 10, infact, the only top 10 he will ever be on, is in the Wrestlecrap hall of fame...great site btw, but, check it out, every week...Anyways...I pulled a Funky, by playing X-Men Legends for several hours, which was why I was late, but hey, Funky shouldn't mind since I'm taking over a day early...Anywayz, the Gooker, just narrowly beat out...the current WWE Champion John Bradshaw Leyfield by one point, which, will put him in...93rd Place...yeah, what a archivment for the Gooker, sadly our favorite, Pay Your Due, French Abusing, Stifffest, known as Hardcore Holly, still remains in last...

Anywayz, Since I'm picking up the Rise and Fall of ECW, this weekend, we will have a all ECW Weekend....Featuring all ECW World Heavyweight Champions...which of course, will be followed up by Funky Fly's Day 100...Which if he has to wait any longer...well you can figure that out...

Anywayz, today's Wrestler is the Cigerette Smoking, Beer Drinking, Cane Swinging....Sandman, The man known as the Hardcore Icon....Will he brawl his way into a shocking Top 10 Apperance, we will find out...

I have no strong feeling one way or another, which is why I gave him a 5...right smack dab in the fucking middle. I found his match with Raven (barbwire) to be slightly over hyped...he never quite cut it for me as far as being called an icon either. BUT the fucker could should take a beating. Not that taking a beating qualifies you to be a wrestler, just that I have resepct for a guy willing to do that to his body for my entertainment. Plus I truly think he is the only guy who can take 23 minutes to get in the ring and nobody seems to object to it. He was charismatic and could down a beer like a champ...just not wrestling champ worthy I guess. Five stands in my book as being just entertaining to watch, but not to truly enjoy.

Thanks, HS. I just got back in from a Thanksgiving party that went on way too long. Even now, half the people there went to another party. And don't worry, KayfabeMan, Hector Guerrero will get his day in RTW minus the whole Gooker fiasco.

Ring ability: 6.5
Overness: 8.5
Work rate: 10 (come one, with all the crazy shit he did to himself?)
Politics: 10
Mic skill: 7.5
Overall rank: 8.5 Holy shit, that is way too generous. My score is 7.

We're getting really close to Day 100, and I'm just about ready to bust a nut waiting for it so I can unveil my big surprise. Make sure you're there, Same Bat Time, Same Bat Channel (I always wanted to go out using that line).

8.5, yes his wrestling skills generally were the shits. but i've seen the guy actually do none hardcore matches and to be fair he wasn't that bad.

Yes he was 99% gimmick and 1% talent on TV, but i still love the guy.

Plus when he came to London to do a show he used a cane i bought in his match against Steve Corino

I'm only going with 6 instead of five because he knew how to use absolutely no talent to get himself over. He had no skills, but had the everyman's gimmick, and played it to where the ECW marks bought that he was the best ever.

Overall though, he sucks and has nothing that would make him stand out. Just a mess inside and outside of the ring - and as someone who has shared a lockerroom with him before, let me just say that he's more trouble than he's worth.

5. He wasnt that great like everyone said. I liked his gimmick though and when he would drink the beer and smash it over his head. I do that everytime I take a test at school only I do it with a Brisk :naughty:

I'm probably wrong, but I think I have a small idea of what 100 is gonna be now

Horrible in ring skills, but was one of the most over people in ECW, and had the greatest entrance ever. Also, met the guy in real life, and he's pretty much an angry drunk guy ;)

My friend asked him for his autograph once, and Sandman said sure. Except Sandman didn't stop walking. INstead he's like "HERE! HOLD THIS!" And he's shoving a cup of beer at my friend, who not knowing what the hell is goign on, spills some in the process... At this point Sandman cusses more and more.... He did get the autograph though....

Also, I recommend Steve Corino (Who is a hell of a nice guy in real life, as I've met him and all.)

I say 6.5.

He was an entertaining performer and was one of the cornerstones of one of my favorite promotions ever. He'd be higher if he was an above-average worker.

May I suggest, Helms and Funky, that you add a "Bottom 10" leaderboard?

his skills sucked in the ring but hardcore-wise he was just about as tough as they came.

Ring Talent: 5 (Remember, I don't give below 5's)
Workrate: 10 (For all the Crazy Bumps he did)
Overness: 9 (He was mega over in ECW...too bad he didn't catch on in WCW)
Memories: 10 (I don't have the time for all theses)
Archivments: 10 (ECW Tag Champion, 4 Time ECW Champion)
Potential: 6 (He's pretty much done with now)
Mic Skills: 6.5 (Blah)
Look: 8.5 (He looked exactly like he was claimed to be....A Beer Drinking, Cigerette Smoking, Cane Swininging....Fatass)
Finisher: 7.5 (Love The name, White Russian Legsweep, and get's a little added for using the Cane with it)
Personal Bias: 8.5 (I'm a ECW Mark, and well I loved his entrance, he may not of been a good wrestler, but still gave everything he had and put his body thru hell for us)

Overall: 8.1

You know...that's a good idea...I just had a discussion about a friend, who has the Benoit DVD (I still haven't gotten it) and we talked about how, Scorpio was well ahead of his time in WCW....Well, I was going to do Mikey Whipwreck tomorrow, well later tonight, but I think we're do 2 Cold Scorpio....

Also....It will be Mike Awesome and Justin Credible after him....then Funky's Day 100 Suprise

Funky Fly

Yeah, I haven't even told HS who the Day 100 wrestler is. All I'll say is that he's very deserving of his spot and that he is NOT my special surprise. ;)

Awesome. Haha, I just finished watching his match with Benoit, (just picked up the Benoit DVD the other day) and I loved it. And I thought about the Rate The Wrestler and wondered whether or not he had been rated yet.
