I just saw this movie.

I was watching some documentary on the Battle of Gaugamela on Discovery the other day and got into it so I decided to check out the movie. It had so much extra stuff that I obviously didnt know they would get into.

I thought it was good and I know they hired a historian to help with the movie but I am wondering how accurate it is.

I am probably going to buy a book on the history of Alexander just to see the difference.

I thought it was a good movie and would recommend it to anyone

I have heard nothing positive about this so far, so hearing your review gives me a bit of hope.

I am interested in seeing it, especially cuz Val Kilmer is the man. But 3 hours of crap is sort of preventing me from going. If it was shorter and still being called awful I would prolly ignore the reviews and see it.

I liked Troy, it wasn't anything great but I was pretty entertained. So I was looking forward to this.

I dunno, hopefully I'll catch it. So much out right now I want to see it's ridiculous.

Still haven't seen The Incredibles!

I dont care what most reviewers say because they dont always agree with what I like. Ebert and his pal rarely say that the movies I like are good and then when I see them I love them. I will probably see this movie just for the fact that I love the history type movies like this, Gladiator, Braveheart, anything that is like it.

Except I read exactly ZERO reviews of this movie and I walked out halfway through. So that doesn't work.

An epic movie with the narrator explaining all the parts that should have been shown in the movies is shite. If I had no knowledge of European History when I saw the movie I would have thought Alexander conquered the world after the single battle in Persia.

I went to watch the movie on Wednesday, 'cause I'm a sucker for mythology/historic war type things. Sadly, the movie jumped around from events to events throughout the movie.. they totally skipped out on a few parts and the movie was a disappointment. I watched this thing on the History channel on Alexander the Great, and it was a 3 hour show.. and that was even better than the movie.

they make Alex look way to gay in it. He may have been homosexual, but at that time in Greece it was there culture to like guys and girls.

It will, eventually. Don't disclude oversees grosses or DVD sales. But yeah, so far it is underperforming....quite largely...at the box office.

Yes. I'm not saying it will DEFINITLY make it all back, but I won't be surprised if it does. It very well can. Troy didn't do too well here either, but did boffo business worldwide. And the DVD has yet to come. Don't underestimate those people in Antarctica.
