I'm not sure the order, but I know we play the Packers again, which is the hardest game. Then I think we have Seattle which will be tough too (but they are both at home). Then I think Detroit and Chicago still too.

Dec 5 @ Chicago 1:00pm
Dec 12 Seattle 1:00pm
Dec 19 @ Detroit 1:00pm
Dec 24 Green Bay 3:00pm
Jan 2 @ Washington 1:00pm
All five of those games should be wins, with Seattle not doing as well as they should be doing, and Chicago/Detroit/Washington are all pretty rubbish, the Green Bay one will be the big one, obviously.
Maybe Detroit or Chicago can upset the Packers and do us a favor. :o
BCWWF

The key is that the two big tougher games are both at home too, Green Bay and Detroit.
It's kind of hard to call the Vikings medeocre when they were within one score of beating the Colts despite not having Randy Moss. I'm not saying they are a Super Bowl team this year, but with Moss healthy you can make a good argument that they are the second best team in the NFC (behind the Eagles)

If we lose two of those games, I'm not sure if we'd even have the 6th seed. Do you realize who the teams are that are competing for the final wildcard spot right now? It will most likely be St. Louis, the same team that lost to the Dolphins. Come on, stop trying to make up reasons why the Vikings miss the playoffs, because there is not a chance that they do. That isn't being hometown, that is just not being stupid. That isn't directed at the Miz so much however, because I know you are just being the good old Miz.

I am just going to address this one more time, and then ignore it when it comes up in the future.
The Vikings were as good as their record last season, simply put. They just happened to win six, then lose a bunch right in a row. They were probably better then the Packers last year, but regardelss they weren't good enough to do anything in the playoffs. Of course it was disapointing being a Vikings fan, but I am over it now because our team is still rebuilding and now in the next season or two we will have a legit chance at a Super Bowl.
Then, if you want to post a picture of something that actually would have an affect on Vikings fans, post a picture of Gary Anderson missing his first field goal of the year in the NFC Championship, to win the game in 1998. That year the Vikings actually were good, 15-1, and the one FG Gary misses all year is the one to win the game. We eventually lose to an Atlanta team that had no right being in the Superbowl and got slaughtered by Denver. Post of a picture of that, and I will get going.

Any team that loses the games the Vikings lose does not deserve to get into the playoffs.
BCWWF - the Vikings might be better in terms of talent than the Pack but the fact that Tice can not coach means that they won't ever win those games. Whenever the Vikings need a coach to pick up the team or give the team direction, or prepare the team; Tice goes AWOL.
I'm used to this though. I am used to the Vikings breaking my heart. Fucking Darren Nelson dropping the ball in the endzone. The Hershal Walker trade. (Note with the pick the Vikings would have had the Cowboys picked some guy called Emmitt Smith). Gary Anderson...:(

Look at all the stupid drive killing penalties last week. Again, that is the sign of a sloppy team that is poorly coached.
The thing about the Vikings is that the start fast and then other teams work out what they are doing and Tice doesn't have the brains in order to work out what teams are doing to stop the Vikings and so they always go on this slide. Teams work out that the Vikes D is suspect and just pick it apart. It pains me to see a Vikes D this bad. I don't remember the Purple People Eaters but I do remember that front line of Doleman, Millard, Henry Thomas and Al Noga. Joey Browner, Carl Lee in the secondary. Seriously these guys must be spinning in their footballing graves at the shit that Tice turns out every week.
I am working out how they are going to fuck it up this week. I think that they will go one of two ways. Either the concede points on the Packers first 4 drives, plus a couple of 3 and out drives in between so they are in a hold straight off the bat.
OR
Randy Moss will go AWOL.
Or both.

They are just lulling us into a false sense of security into thinking that they have finally sorted their heads out.

Is it resolution or revolution? I only watch wrestling when it looks like a good show or if it's free, and New Years Revolution is neither of those... besides the mainevent. And it'll probably be a disapointment anyway, well if Jericho doesn't win then it's automatically a disapointment.

Getting?
I had a feeling we were going to lose though. What's bad is even with what, 6 turnovers and many mistakes we were still in the game. Even with two "non fumbles" (both led to 7 points, FTR), we were still within striking distance. Even with two "questionable" calls on Ahmad Caroll on the same drive (one which gave the Vikes a first down when they would have had to punted and, yes, led to 7 points), it was a close game.
Wow, I think I dislike every single team in the NFC playoffs now. Might be the first time that has happened ever after the first round. :-\
What Moss did did not surprise me. I have come to expect things like that. Hey, if a guy walks off the field early and doesn't want to stay with his team during bad times, I expect him to taunt the crowd and cuss at them saying "Look at the mother fucking score board" in the first quarter. :|

OMG I know Moss isn't a model player, but ESPN cuts its stories so poorly.
"All the media talked about all week was Randy, Randy, Randy"
They completely cut out the part of the rest of the interview. They make stories out of things that aren't bad. Cris Carter was on the radio saying that when you play, you are trained to not notice whats going on in the media. Basically what he was saying is that the media makes stories and acts like they are affecting things that they actually aren't. For example the media is making the big deal about the TD celebration tonight...do they expect me to believe that his TD celebration is angering his teammates? OF COURSE NOT! The only people angered by that are the commentators who are upset because its a reality check that they have no influence.
And Outlaw, sorry son but the Packers were never in the game

14 points is not in the game? Go back to school kid, the Vikings were winning by more than that the last time but ended up losing.

The Vikings seem to be at the best when you discount them.
The thing about them is that when you expect them to fuck up they come through and yet when you expect them to win they don't show up.
I can see them beating the Eagles and then fucking up against the Lambs.
Moss is a headcase but he's our headcase so we don't care.
The Walker trade looked good at the time. Seriously the Vikings were never going to win the Superbowl with D.J.Dozier, Alfred Anderson (anyone remember when he fumbled 2 kickoffs in a row against the Giants :( Giants score, kick off, Anderson fumbles. Giants score. Kick off Anderson fumbles. Giants score. Seriously 21 points in like 30 seconds.) Rick Fenney and Darrin Nelson in the backfield. As it was the team fell apart. Millard blew out his knee and was never the same again.
The Walker trade was bad but was it worse than the Ricky Williams trade? Who knows where how the Eli Manning deal will pan out in the end etc etc. Hindsight is 20/20

Lol.
Really the Vikings breakdown this season wasn't nearly as bad as the year before. They broke down this season because Moss went out this season, last season it was for no reason. Then this season even with Moss out they were really close, like one field goal away from winning in most of those games, and they were against respectable teams (Green Bay, Indianapolis). So if Moss was healthy all season I think the Vikings probably would have gone 11-5 or 12-4. They rarely got completely blown out this season.
The Outlaw
01-11-2005, 09:00 PM
I didn't mean they broke down. I meant they had a lot of close games. :$
10/16 of the regular season games were won by less than 10 points.
11/17 including the playoffs. I would say there is some middle ground.
Moonax
01-12-2005, 04:47 AM
You misunderstand my point.
Viking performances over the last 20 or so years in the playoffs have either been brilliant or awful. The close games they have lost have been because they played badly. It was a figurative allusion.
The Outlaw
01-12-2005, 11:46 AM
Thank you for clarifying. :)
Didn't know you were talking about in the playoffs. But, from my memory, whent they lose they always lose big, when they win it's a little more close.

It's either 49ers 1987 or Giants 2000.
This is less based in reality than how I as a Vikings fan feel they perform. Last week was 1987, next week might be 2000. It feels like it is either or.
