I tried watching it both on Thanksgiving and the week after. It sucked balls, well the parts I saw before getting bored/annoyed and turning it off. Also, I always seem to catch it when that Tough Enough crap is on, and that isn't entertaining.

Yeah, I taped it last night, watched it this afternoon and lost interest when the Bashams came out so I turned it off.

Smackdown may be shizot, but I still watch it. I work from 4-9 on Thursdays, and there just happenes to be a little portable TV there. I turn Smackdown on there, watch it for an hour, close up, go home, watch the rest at home, eat some cheeseburgers and drink ice tea. Walking, its about an 8 minute walk from home to my work. I'm like a loyal fun, so even if it does suck I still watch it. :)

I've been a loyal fan for 18 years. I cannot stomach Smackdown most days.

JBL is God.

The only redeeming quality of smackdown is JBL. The guys a fucking riot. God knows you can't count on the cruiserweight division for entertainment. The fact that Spike became champ before ultimo is blasphemy.

I haven't seen Smackdown in months due to having a class the time it was on. At the beginning of the year I would tape it... but then I stopped to bother.

Now that the class is over though I'll probably get back into it. Out of habit..... and then be wondering how the hell things could go even more downhill from last I saw...

This year is pretty much the first time I've ever willingly missed SmackDOWN! when I had a chance to watch it, and that was only recently.

Frankly, I think I could do a better job booking. Honestly.

I mean, when JBL has become one of the more enjoyable characters on your show, you know you're really screwed.

I heard Puder and Holly got in a shouting fight after their part since Puder made him laugh.

JBL is the only thing slightly entertaining on Smackdown these days

You heard that, eh? Who told you?

Smackdown is no doubt a quagmire of depravity. :n:

Too many main event tag matches. I don't want to see Eddie in a tag match. I don't care, Eddie, Booker T, and Angle can rotate every week wrestling one on one. Plus, more Funaki. And not Funaki jobbing.

The grand tradition of genericising the main even with a tag or 6-man tag.

Meh, they dont have enough top guys to be giving away singles matches for free.

I think both shows should go back to more tag matches as the main events.

I love JBL, but he isn't drawing more or less with the belt. The character of JBL is great and while the title kind of puts the finishing touches on his ego, it isn't required. If you put the title on guys like Rob Van Dam and Booker T, let them run with it for a while, it might be a totally different situation. People like Undertaker, Austin, Rock, and sure why not JBL, don't need the title in order to put an ass or two in the seats. I say turn RVD heel and give him the title...very similar to ECW's TV title run...that was pure entertainment...*fantasy about a year and a half reign of RVD as Champ*

The other problem with SmackDown is the Cuiserweight Division blows...the most entertaining person in the entire division is Shannon Moore...think about that for a second.

The Tag Division is a joke, the Dudley's can't draw on being the Dudley's anumore...and make shift teams dont cut it.

John Cena is doing the best he can right now, but for god's sake, Jesus and Carlito aren't at Cena's level either in the ring, on the stick, or overness.

Angle's little stable is goin against...Big Show? Come on! Paul hasn't been a draw since late 99 or early 00 (and even those times it wasn't a big draw either). Plus I don't get Angle's stable to begin with...it's like a left over from when Angle was GM...it dosn't make sense having these guys fallow him around anymore...Team Angle was great because both had amature experience and it was done out of admiration, I don't have a clue why the New Team Angle fallows Kurt around...

SmackDown = Poo

They need to bring back Mordecai.

And Gangrel.

And maybe have them form a tag team. I don't know. Call them "Gods and Vampires".

Then have them feud with Taker.

Seriously, the best thing about Undertaker were are the supernatural angles. How can you have the Taker on the show and stick him with feuds that he could have done while he was still Biker Taker? I mean, what's the point, really?

How on God's green earth would bringing back Mordecai and Gangrel help SmackDown? Neither man has ever brought in a dime to the WWE...why would they stick them in a Main Event fued with the Undertaker? That makes no sense.

And don't bitch that Taker isn't using lightning bolts anymore...he is the deadman, not Thor. Think of all the fueds he has had over the years where there was no lightning...a casket match every now and again, but really until 98 he never used lightning or supernatural powers (other then the magic gift of no-selling moves).

We are talking about the same show that somehow turned Bradshaw into a main eventer. I don't think that Gangrel and Mordecai are much more of a stretch. It was speculation, anyway, but they were the only things I could think up that were close to Taker's kind of angle.

Also, I didn't say lightning. I said supernatural. I meant angles like the feud with the early Mankind, Kane, the Ministry ... you know, things that are more along the lines of Undertaker's MO.

It's not hard to understand how they managed that..they dont have many options on smackdown..the show is entirely shit. So they just chose..."ummmm bradshaw, he's been around for a while, so why the fuck not."
It's not like people really give a damn about him..if they go to the shows, they may as wel give him some heat.

Yes, please do.

Less wrestling a week for me to watch=more time to actually do things I should be doing.

The last few weeks have been a struggle for me. Now I don't want it to seem like I'm complaining (because I'm not), but seeig Eddie Guerrero & Booker T vs. The Basham Brothers on SmackDown! was when something in my head clicked. I remember thinking "Wow, The Bashams are actually doing something, in a few weeks/months they could be tag champs.", that was followed up by another part of my head going "Who cares?".

I know it sounds really weird, but wrestling fans are starting to care less and less about the SmackDown! scene. Who's fault is it? I cannot say. It isn't the talent, because they've been great, and nothing less than great. I believe it is the lack of that epic feel that made 2000 feel so important. It seemed then that wrestling were these men's lives, and not just weekly jobs. I'm not saying the brand split should end, but I really think two-brand exclusive major shows would help the current scene. To me it feels like the writing team aren't worried about onelow rating a week and that their major concern is getting their money, without actully trying to improve the product. One week after another chugs by and nothing changes.

So many little things could be done, but I think w are all aware of them. I just hope the WWE starts pushing itself to new limits, instead of just saying "This is good enough.".

I'll stay faithful and watch every SmackDown! I can, but I can really fee the show's aura becomming more like an independant show than a major wrestling promotions'. I really hope Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho and maybe Kane heads over to SmackDown! in the near future to give it a boost.

I know what you mean. I missed Smackdown, and barely gave enough of a shit that I finally decided I'd check out the results...Tonight.

For the most part, it really isn't the talent. However, it's still making it hard to be worth a damn. Heidenreich sobbing, Tough enough, a main event scene revolving around JBL and Taker (who barely does anything in the WWE anymore anyway), vanilla'd cruiserweights, etc.

The BAshams are actually pretty good in ring. However, they've never really had a personality. It's odd to use the word "vanilla" to refer to a pair who entered with an S&M gimmick, but *SNORE*. Even when I want to care, I can't manage to muster the energy. Even Cena's being watered down, force fed lines, and really turned into a tired imitation of his own gimmick hallf the time. I keep thinking they screwed up and aired the Dark Matches by accident or something.
