I'm not taking anything away from the charity set up, or the speach he gave at the espy awards.

They talk about what a great man he was.

He retired from NC due to years of acedmic fraud, grade fixing, multiple ncaa violations and even aligations (I don't think they were ever proved) of game fixing and drug abuse.

Do we always forget a persons negative things once they die?

I don't know, once somebody dies I pretty much give them a "free pass" on the pety shit. Even if that shit is true, it's not like he killed a man or something.

I was watching the game on ESPN and they were saying the V foundation has raised over 40 MILLION dollars for cancer research!! If it wasn't for him dying of cancer, that money would not be there, so i think that negates what bad he did do (if it's even true).

Dickie V painted him out to be a great guy in his book. I remember something about all the scandal and stuff, but I forget what he said about it. But as long as Dickie V think's he's alright, he's alright.

So, because he died of cancer, if he never got Cancer think there would be this foundation in his memory?

and the money would be somewhere, most people who donate, will donate somewhere.

That being said, I think the work of his foundation is great and I credit the people who work for it, help promote it and donate to it.

But I have trouble w/ him being a "great guy" based on the ncaa issues.

Didn't they try and take away his national championship or something like that?

Every major powerhouse in college is corrupt, they just don't get caught.
