Well, maybe it's just me, but is this a really good idea? Do you stop a policeman in the middle of a shootout to tell him he's doing a great job?

So they're going back to Iraq (Presumably Baghdad) to tell the troops how much they're appreciated by creating more work and more asses to watch? Fuck's sake, isn't this a message they could just call in?

I understand the concept of entertaining the troops, but is it really a bright idea at this point?

I dunno. It doesn't seem that much more risky than the typical USO tours, and I don't think that the risk is any worse than when Smackdown was in Baghdad the year previous.

Yeah... I'd agree.

Plus, ya never know. Hardcore might spout off and tell some random Iraqi he hasn't paid his dues, then get kidnapped and held for ransom or something.

"And in tonight's headline, WWE wrestler Bob "Hardcore" Holly was kidnapped while on a tour of Iraq, where the show was entertaining US troops. Here to comment on his friend and co-worker's disappearance is French Wrestler Rene Dupree."

"What 'as 'appened 'ere is a tragedy. Bob 'as always been a stand up guy, and for something like this to 'appen to 'im is just... just... I can't lie, nobody really gives a fuck."

I suppose the troops do need moral.

Though, how many troops will they take away from patrolling Iraq and whatnot, in order to hold this event?

I also am wondering if the troops were given an oppertunity to decide whether or not THEY would like to hold the event. If then, they voted and decided that the majority would like to hold such a special event, it would be alright.

But if they are just being told, "the WWE are coming... so go make some preparations." then I wouldn't want them to be obliged and forced into accomodating the WWE, while they are already risking their lives fighting the war.

If this is what the troops all want, then it will be a great event for them. But if it is something thrown at them and is looked upon by most of the soldiers as a bad idea that is not worth the risk then why add that much more pressure ontop of the soldiers?

The idea is probally not a bright one but the intentions are in the right direction, provided if this is really what the troops want. However, there are so many things that could go wrong.

It would be nice if the American government didn't feel the need to occupy another country and kill hundreds of thousand innocent people for the sole purpose of making money, but since they do feel that is necessary, its nice of the WWE to go out fo their way to entertain the troops (who are innocent parties in an illegal war).

OF course the WWE gets a lot of good pub for doing it, but I genuinley think Vince does it because he cares about the troops.

So I say its a good thing.

It's good and stuff, but they do it what seems like a lot.... I dunno. I'm really anti-war and stuff, and this seems to encourage it even more.
