DISCUSSION - When should EDGE win the World Title? (Other rasslin' thoughts as well)

I don't know about you guys, but I REALLY think that Edge is an awesome heel. His current personna sort of reminds me of the 97' version of Bret Hart. I also think his mic skills as a heel are quite good as well.

Basically - I REALLY think that Edge is a LOCK to win the World title within the next year (and very likely, even earlier than that). I'd even go as far as saying that Edge is arguably the most intriguing character on RAW right now (for the past 2-3 weeks).

So with all this in mind, when would YOU book Edge to win the world title?


Triple H attempting to break Ric Flair's World title record

Not sure if this can classify as a "fact" or not, but a lot of people seem to think that Triple H, with his backstage pull etc., will try and book himself to break Ric Flair's World title record.

I don't know enough to comment on whether that's true or not......but for the sake of this post, lets assume that it IS.


Since Triple H has already won the title like 8 or 9 times (I can't remember), then why not have him win the rest of his titles on SMACKDOWN?


Sometime after Wrestlemania next year, I'm thinking that Edge can take over as "top heel" on RAW, while Triple H heads over to Smackdown and helps get Cena, Guerrero, etc. get to the "next level" (Triple H will probably end up having longer title reigns than those guys, but I'm pretty sure that he'll do a few jobs to them as well.......like he did with Benoit..........even if it didn't amount to much :?: ). Regardless of what happens, Triple H is the ONE guy who can put Cena and Guerrero (arguably the two biggest faces in the company) to that "next level".

Christian as "Captain Charisma"

I didn't watch RAW this past Monday, but it looks like Christian came out as "Captain Charisma" or something. I'm not sure how it played out on TV, but a thought came to my mind.

What if Christian just used the "Captain Charisma" gimmick for the next little while.........and turned face in the process?

Christian has that sort of "goofiness" about him to make the gimmick potentially funny. Christian has rarely been a face in the WWE. Maybe they could give it a try?

The other thing to factor in, is that Christian isn't really "going anywhere" with his current program. Christian seems to have "hit a wall" in the mid-cards......and I highly doubt that the company has any current intention to push him beyond this level.

While I personally DO like Christian's personna, I also think that the "Captain Charisma" gimmick may help refresh his character a bit. It would definitely be something different.

As Captain Charisma, Christian can also ditch Tomko (who can then either be released, or work full-time for Trish). If Christian becomes "Captain Charisma", then I'd turn Hurricane heel (and possibly even have him ditch the "Hurricane" gimmick).

On another thought - I think it would be somewhat funny if Captain Charisma (heel) had a feud with The Hurricane (face). It would be a decent side storyline I guess.

Problem is I can't see Edge in a serious title picture on RAW until much later in 2005 cause I'm guessing Orton or Batista are gonna have lengthy title runs after WM. So either the fans are gonna get bored with Edge, or he's gonna be pushed to win the title off one of them in the distant future.

Of course if HHH is still preserving his spot as top heel on RAW then HE will probably get the World Title again, and Edge will be stuck in midcard hell.

Another possibility for Edge is to go to Smackdown (if HHH doesn't, cause he probably won't cause he'll stay on RAW so it is the superior show). Edge could be traded back to Smackdown, and Edge could whine there about how he was held down on RAW, and how Smackdown is his new opportunity to succeed. I imagine Edge could win the WWE Title more easily on Smackdown if Angle is champion cause he's a lot more willing to JOB than Hunter is.

I'm guessing Edge will get the Title sometime in late 2005 maybe around Survivor Series. Maybe a clean pin over Jericho or Orton

I don't mind the idea of Christian & Hurricane having a feud over who's the best superhero. Then somewhere we have a "Loser Leaves Town" match, where the losing participant can no longer go by his superhero persona. It has limitless possibilities. You don't need to have Christian go the full-hero, though. Just have him start a feud with Hurricane over the IC Title or something, then have it carry into the World Tag Team Division (with Tyson Tomko & Rosey). Have Christian than mention in a promo that Capatin Charisma made a much better hero than The Hurricane, which prompts Eric Bischoff to sign Captain Charisma vs. The Hurricane for nearest PPV.

As for Edge, I think it would be great if Edge stole the World Heavyweight Championship this coming RAW. Have Eric cut a promo, then have him say Trish Stratus is still the WWE Women's Champion in heelish fashion, because Lita didn't earn her title shot, since the last time they met, Lita got herself DQ'd (he conviently overlooks the tag pinfall Lita got on Trish, which it turns out is due to Trish performing favours for Bischoff). Then have Eric delay Edge vs. Orton to New Year's Revolution. Eric Bischoff then starts to lean towards giving the World Heavyweight Championship to Chris Benoit, when all of a sudden Edge Spears Eric. Edge then takes the World Heavyweight Title and begins talking to it softly.

Edge can then play the Gollum of the RAW Heavyweight Division, or something to the like. Eventually Edge gets his shot when he pins someone CLEANLY for the title.
