Rate the Movie Day 34: Star Wars 'A New Hope'

Like anyone is surprised but the Godfather did quite well finishing second overall with a 97 and in the process knocking Clockwork Orange out of the top 10.

Today I want to do Star Wars, Honestly I don't think this will get into the Top 10 because films with cult like followings tend to be a love/hate relationship with viewers. There's no middle ground people either Love this of Hate it, should be interesting.

I don't think many of you realize the importance the first Star Wars had on the entire moviemaking process. It was one of the first scifi movies to have a believable setting (as in, it looked like people were actually living there, instead of stuff being all laundered-white and pristine), completely changed the way directors looked at special effects (before Lucas came back and made it all look like a video game), and offered classic storytelling. Plus, it's just a fun movie to watch.
