Was pretty good. Only had like two parts that made me laugh out loud though. The intro with all the canceled shows and the Pinnochio shit. The hamburger comic was pretty funny too.

Peter: "Everybody, I got bad news. We've been cancelled."
Lois: "Oh, no! Peter, how could they do that?"
Peter: "Well unfortunately Lois there's just no more room on the schedule. We've just got to accept the fact that FOX has to make room for terrific shows like: Dark Angel, Titus, Undeclared, Action, That 80's Show, Wonder Falls, Fastlane, Andy Richter Controls the Universe, Skin, Girls Club, Cracking Up, The Pitts, Firefly, Get Real, Freaky Links, Wanda At Large, Costello, The Lone Gunmen, A Minute With Stan Hooper, Normal, Ohio, Pasadena, Harsh Realm, Keen Eddie, The Street, American Embassy, Cedric The Entertainer, The Tick, Luis, and Greg the Bunny."
Lois: "Is there no hope?"
Peter: "Well I suppose if ALL those shows go down the tubes we might have a shot."

I thought it was hilarious. It needed to come back with a bang, and that it did for sure. I was nearly crying after watching the "Passion of the Christ 2" trailer. Wow, they still have the fire.

It had it's moments like always.

American Dad had the funniest moment of the two shows though. Where all the people in the screen labelled "Mexico" go to the screen marked "America" becausethe CIA dudes took their eyes off it. Where's JBL when you need him?

It was great, not the best, but what a way to come back. I loved the opening most of all, just rubbing it in Fox's face and the Jugghead comic and Ollie scene were funny.

American Dad has promise, especially since the pilot was very meh and this was more entertaining.

What kinda kept it down was the fact that they went with the whole Mel Gibson is a Nazi routine.

South Park already covered it pretty well.

It had its moments but it is nowhere near the best Family Guy episode. They could've done better.

They never lost a step since being taken off. I, like others, LOVED the opening---although I did think that "Andy Richter Controls The Universe" showed some promise.

A large part of Family Guy's Humor to me, is the quickness of the animation. Take the "Honeymooners" reference, for example: After the catchphrase, they just stand there for 3 or 4 seconds, then WHAM! Then he looks at the camera for 2 seconds then walks away. I love how they tend to keep you guessing in a gag. Loved the G.I.JOE reference, as well as Ollie's "short and to the point" statement.

American Dad was about the same as the SuperBowl pilot. Some of the jokes were pretty funny, but I'm not sure if I can get into any of the characters like I can in Family Guy.

At least I think so.

Family guy was nothing but old gags and a shameless star wars plug, but Dad was gold.

When they were out on the fishing boat:

Co-workers: Hey Stan, looks like somebody is avoiding going home.

Stan: Yeah, tonight is the anniversary of this big fight me and the wife had.

Co-workers: Oh? What about?

Stan: Oh, I forgot our anniversary.

(Co-workers just stare at him.)

(Stan continues fishing, oblivious.)

(Co-workers still staring.)

(Stan sips his beer.)

(Still staring.)

Stan: AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

That and the Alien's line, after he knocks out the 2 teenagers:

I'm sorry, but do you know how many more millions of people watch NASCAR races than "Family Guy" episodes?

I'm not a fan of either, but auto racing has a huge following compared to the small (but loyal) cult of FG fans. Of course they're going to play what gets them higher ratings. Murdoch may be an idiot, but not because of this. This is actually good business.

American Dad was ROFL though. I guess the golden turd episode is going to be like the chicken fights on Family Guy?

I'm personally getting tired of the Star Wars references. The past three or so episodes had them.

Otherwise, it wasn't bad in my opinion.

Hopefully they'll start pulling out new gags instead of relying on previous ones. For example, the chicken fight a few weeks ago.

It's still a great show, but it seems like they're trying way too hard to force the insanity and randomness. Before, it all kind of flowed together into one giant, 25 minute ball of story and crazy shit. Now it's more cut and dry. Not to mention Stewie's character has been dumbed down to a slow-talking, sarcastic one-liner.

Everything just seems so contrived.

It was a new one I guess where Homer pretends to be the husband of one of Marge's sisters so she can adopt a baby. They fly to China to adopt a little Chinese baby in the end and it was all pretty funny. Im guessing now we have another baby on the show.

No one is griping for it to be Family Guy to go away again. We are all just saying that this episode really wasnt as good as some of the others. Shows always have there bad times.

it seems the pacing of family guy has been a little too quick. The earlier seasons seemed to be paced better and flow more smoothly.

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20050620/tv_nm/familyguy_dc

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane is preparing his long-awaited direct-to-DVD movie based on the exploits of his cartoon clan for a Sept. 27 release.

"It's been an enormous undertaking to juggle this with doing 35 new episodes of the show, but we think it turned out great," MacFarlane said of the film, his first full-length feature, and the first direct-to-video ever made off a television franchise.

The 83-minute, unrated "Family Guy Presents Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story" ($29.98) is based on the animated series MacFarlane created for Fox Television in the late 1990s. The irreverent series, aimed at adults rather than kids, went on the air in early 1999 and was canceled in 2003, only to be resurrected last month after an overwhelming demand for the show on DVD.

The first DVD set sold more than 2.5 million units, the second-highest sales tally of any TV-DVD release behind the first season of "Chappelle's Show," and two subsequent packages lifted the "Family Guy" franchise's total sales to about 4.5 million units.

That prompted Fox to take the unprecedented step of bringing back the show. The new season debuted in May and has since featured a bevy of guest voices, including
Drew Barrymore,
Jessica Biel, Jennifer Tilly and Adam West.

"Family Guy Presents Stewie Griffin" is something of a thank you to the show's fans who bought so many DVDs, MacFarlane said. "Fox had such a great amount of success with the previous DVD releases that I think they felt there was a built-in, surefire market for a 'Family Guy' DVD," he said. "It's also a lot easier to put out a DVD release than it is a theatrical film while you're doing a television series."

The movie finds Stewie, the maniacal baby genius, having a near-death experience that prompts him to change his ways. Instead of seeking to dominate the world, he sets out on a road trip to find his real father.

Guest vocal talent includes Barrymore and Ron Livingston, as well as three cast members of "Beverly Hills, 90210" -- Jason Priestley,
Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling -- "in a special gag," MacFarlane said.

The DVD will include several special features, including deleted scenes, still galleries, animatics and a commentary from MacFarlane.

"We also sandwiched special features around the movie," he said. "It begins with an animated movie premiere, with the family arriving to watch it, and then there's an after-party at the end."

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is planning the biggest marketing campaign ever for a TV-spawned release, according to division worldwide president Mike Dunn. Plans include national print and TV advertising as well as a viral marketing campaign targeting college students at bars, clubs and fraternity parties; special screenings will be held for college students.

You seen this? Apparently there's some upset about the segment in the recent Family Guy episode 'The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire' where Peter and his Barbershop group break the news to a dying man that he has AIDS (not HIV, but full blown AIDs). Make what you want of the article, I think it's all been misinterpreted...

The man is also depicted as young and sporting a goatee, possibly subtly suggesting that he is gay.

That's why the same character is used in an episode where Peter says he loves playing practical jokes - 'I'm sorry, you're wife is a vegetable...'. Wife? You hear that? Wife - i.e. not gay. When you assume you make an ass of you!

Anyway, have a read....

It should be socially unacceptable to see this kind of garbage passing for entertainment in 2005.”

i think seth mcafarline has too much to do between fam. guy and american dad...family guy doesnt seem as well thought out and written as it was....possibly due to a lack of concentration on his part

It's a carry on from an episode in season 2. The first fight was much longer and more spontaneous
