There is some virus that takes over your AIM profile and says "HAHAHAHAHA I Cant believe I found (Screennames) picture HERE" When you click on it it takes you to some website that tells you that you have got this spyware on your computer and that you can remove it by clicking a link. What the virus actually does is sets the message above as your AIM profile and it keeps resetting it if you change it. I clicked the removal link and my computer came up with a warning so I didnt do it. I ran ad-aware and got rid of all the spyware on my comp.

Does anyone know what this is or how to get rid of it perminantly?

try www.housecall.com

I think that's the site where you can run a free virus scanner off your comp.

If that doesn't work then go to Norton's web page and see if they have a fix for it.

The spyware had to create some kind of file to be able to still change it when you change it back.

Try doing a file search for some key words that this virus put into your computer. A Virus Scanner may not find a virus, or may find a virus and still not fix the problem.

I got that Trojan virus and the fix tool couldn't find the virus. The virus wouldn't let me go to ANY search engines. Yahoo, Alta Vista, Google, you name it. So I did a file search for "Google"... and I found an INI or INS file or whatever so I opened it with note pad. Then I did the "find on this page" trick to find the word google, deleted it... and tried to go to Google.com

Believe it or not, it finally let me go to Google.com. So i deleted the script that the virus created and I was find. You probably have to find the script and after you do... you can either delete it. Or you can change what it makes the profiles say and send it to people to be a prick.

I've seen that.

Run spyware removal software.

That link takes care of it. I got rid of mine by just deleting a bunch of shit in my AIM folder, but that is better. Just in case anyone else has this problem.
