Well they are starting to happen so I thought I would make a thread.
I just want to say right now that I wouldn't be surprised if Utah faltered against Pitt. If I am not mistaken Utahs coach has already said he is switching to Florida next season and they are just supposed to kill Pitt. I am just saying I wouldn't be surprised if they came in not fully prepared mentally.

My predictions:
Orange: OU
Rose: Texas
Sugar: Auburn
Fiesta: Utah
How come Cal was ranked so high and were supposed to be BCS bound, and now they are playing some random Bowl vs Texas Tech? Couldn't a legit bowl pick them up?

They werent ranked high enough in the BCS to get into a major bowl.
Check your the topic you made before haha..You will get all the info you need

I assume that you are talking about Cal? I didn't say why aren't they playing in a BCS bowl, I said why aren't they playing in a legit bowl? I mean come on, Texas Tech, were they even top 25? Why couldn't they put Cal against Boise St, Wisconsin, Louisville, Miami, Georgia, Tennessee, I mean somebody good. If they were supposed to be so good and ranked like #4 in the polls, they shouldn't be in a bowl against Texas Tech, who couldn't have finished better than 5th in the Big XII South.

Texas Tech finished top 25
I know you what you mean, but what is a "big" bowl other then the BSC really? I mean, most of them are pretty much the same. They all just have tie ins, like Pac 10 vs Big 12 etc. Plus, they pick teams that travel well and shit like that. All about the cash

I actually was looking at the list and details of each bowl, and I guess the one that they are in pays a lot of money. Like each school gets 2 million, which is a lot. Still though, Texas Tech

Lol at Cal making me look like a complete moron, they lost to Texas Tech today in case you didn't know. I guess it makes sense, overconfidence or something.

Also, The Outlaw we are kind of enimies today, with Minnesota playing Alabama and all...even though I don't really like Minnesota and hold little to no affiliation with it. Their football following is so shitty, they are going to have 2,000-3,000 fans while Bama is expected to bring like 40,000 or something. Lol

SON OF A BITCH
What's up with ruling ours a fumble when it wasn't and then turning around and ruling an actual fumble "ground caused" when it obviously wasn't. I could see them missing ours because it was tough to tell but the MN fumble was OBVIOUS when the guy is diving and the ball is out and the ref is right in front of him.
I guess I'm used to getting ripped this year though. :(

JK, I didn't watch the game, but I listened to it on the radio from the hockey rink I work at. The second half sounded boring as shit though. Regardless, you should get a maroon M avatar now

Minnesota ran all over Bama regardless..I didn't think that was going to happen since 'Bama didn't have one rusher go for over 100 againest them all season.
Miami beat Florida pretty handly. Hester is fucking gross man, anyone see him run back that blocked FG?
Also Boston College whooped up on UNC..soon to be ACC conference foes.

Well yeah they did run all over us, but they scored two touchdowns. One was a 1 yard fumble recovery which was Pennington's fault. The other was a result of those two fumble calls. Pennington almost made me forget he was a 4th string QB until it came down to crunch time and the game was on the line, where he showed his true ways.
Bah, I guess I'm not so mad considering our circumstances. I'm just tired of saying we still have next year. :-\

The Gophers couldn't pass the ball for the whole second half due to injuries, and Barber and Mulroney are the first two RB's this season to rush for 100 yards against the Tide, and they both did it in one game. I dunno, next season for both teams.
I'm glad Texas won, and how about Iowa beating LSU on the last play? That was pretty sweet, I don't like LSU. The Pitt/Utah one was kinda lame though.
The Outlaw
01-02-2005, 09:48 PM
That Iowa play was crazy. I dont know what the LSU safety was thinking? They were in zone and had he been where he was supposed to, he would have had the interception.
I actually think if they wouldnt have gotten that penalty, LSU would have won due to them being kind of caught off guard with them snapping it quickly because of the clock.
Great game though.

yeah, I haven't watched much this year, gonna watch this one... (or try, till I fall asleep).
I'm a Pete Carrol fan... there's talk if he wins another National Championship that SF might try and get him, which is probably the only Pro Job he would take.

WTF is this shit??
I put money on OU just because my boy wanted USC.. I'd have taken either..
The BSC is utter shit.. Auburn doesn't even get a piece like USC did last year..
It should go:
#1 plays #3
#2 plays #4
Winners of those TWO games play for the championship.. The BCS is why I prefer the NFL..

I am suprised. USC barely got through the wack Pac10 conference but then they dominate in the National Championship againest the Big 12 Champs..damn
That fumbled punt completely killed the momentum for OU. What a dumbass move by that guy, now OU is just rolling over and dieing out there. Getting embrassed out there. Even though the Big 12 is way stronger then the Pac10, it just shows you gotta show up and play. USC showed up tonight. OU didn't

OU fans will say it was because of Ashlee that they all left in the third quarter.
If we'd tried, we could have put up 70 against OU.
Maybe we should have played Auburn. Even on zero days rest, they probably would have put up a better fight. I know Jason Campbell would through a ball into quintuple coverage (I called interception as soon as I saw it during the ten minutes of the game I got to watch because we stopped at a friend's house before heading out to dinner). And that fumbled punt return was both the dumbest in game sports move of the century and the play that changed the game.
OU: Overrated University. Well, this isn't how they normally play, but you can't make any excuses in a game like this. I just hope my hardcore OU fan buddy, Matt, didn't hang himself... I have a lot of heckling to do to him for the upcoming year.
55-19. Geez, it was 55-10, too. Would have stayed that way if we didn't have some mercy and put in our 395th string. So much for the Heisman curse... so much for the match of the ever on paper... we destroyed them. This was worse than what Utah did to Pitt, because at least Pitt hung around for a half, which is more than you could say for the Sooner fans.
I hope Leinart comes back. I'd love to three-Pete. Even if he doesn't, I have faith in Josh-David Booty, especially if Norm Chow sticks around. That guy is awesome. And he's pretty big too if you ever meet him in real life.
Back to back. Wire to wire.

I don't like USC for some reason, and I was going for OU and was a big Auburn supporter, but I really don't think there is a better team in the country then USC this season. Auburn would have lost too.

I actually would have liked a USC/Auburn game too. In 2002 and 2003, we opened our season against the Tigers and beat them. Of course, they're WAY better this year, but still, it would have been pretty cool to close the season against them, playing them three years in a row. :)

Heh, I'm glad it was a blow out, there was a defensive player on OU that said he wasn't impressed with USC's offense like 2 weeks before. I'm sure you're impressed now bitch!
Corkscrewed
01-06-2005, 12:15 AM
LOL! Yup, that was defensive end Larry Birdine, who said Leinart was overrated. He said that Bush had been the difference maker for the Trojans until late, and basically dissed the Trojans.
So naturally, Matt goes and tosses 5 TD's, breaking the Orange Bowl record. :D
This was so awesome I went ahead and made a sig banner for it. :D Trojan fans can use it if they want (just PM me to let me know or something...)

Weren't you guys still passing in the fourth? Just asking.
LOL @ Ashlee getting booed though. Hilarious.

01-06-2005, 03:39 AM
Yeah, but not really trying. 70 might have been an exaggeration, but I think we could have scored a lot. That last field goal in the first half could have been a TD if we really tried, and on that possession, you could really tell that they were being lackadasical, knowing that they could still hit a FG if they didn't score, and that they didn't really have to hit a TD. :)
Anyway, I caught the halftime show today (I taped it) and that was hilarious. I loved how there were the boos, and then they got dampened by the production crew, kinda like when the WWE tones down crowd reaction for superstars that they don't want be as popular as they really are. And then the quick commercial exit.
Besides, Ashlee sounded like a frog or something really sick last night. She's definitely better off lip synching.
For our sake.

maybe now Ashlee Simpson's career can come to a screeching halt.
But besides all that I'm sick of this stupid BCS. I mean nobody else has such an idiotic way of determing who plays the big game. And this sort of crap already happened before and I guess they aren't ready to learn from their mistakes yet.
Well at least USC slaughtered the overrated OU. Maybe next season the championship game won't be so one-sided.

My top 3 bowl games of this year:
1. Rose Bowl (Texas with the game winning FG to win by 1 after a back and forth game as well as a clinic put on by Vince Young)
2. Capital One Bowl (The only reason the hail mary answered didn't crack the top was because the Rose Bowl was amazing throughout)
3. Liberty Bowl (c'mon... a total shootout... who wouldn't like that? and Boise St. finally got exposed for its overratedness)

Everybody complains about the BCS National Championship, but nobody can decide who Auburn should have beat out. The only solution would be a playoff, but then the controversy would be who is the #4? Utah? Texas? Cal? Boise State? I mean come on, any way you do it theres going to be controversy.
Jesus Shuttlesworth
01-06-2005, 09:15 PM
Yea, but it would be better to have a controversy over who should have gotten the 4th spot, instead of who should be number 1 at the end of the season. There is going to be controversy, but it wouldn't be as bad.
All the reasons to not have a playoff are hilarious, and so stupid.
BCWWF

I believed in Auburn all year, but after the Orange Bowl I am confident that USC is the best team in the nation and Auburn wouldn't have had much more success then Oklahoma. Yes the SEC is good, but its not like the Big 12 is bad, Texas was 11-1, then A & M, Tech, and OSU are all bowl teams
SuperSlim
01-06-2005, 10:23 PM
wait a minute wait a minute.
Auburn would have given USC quite a run. The thing about the championship game was that OU didn't show up to play. Well they did on their first drive of the game and scored but after that they pretty much did nothin. So USC really didn't get that much of a challenge in that game. Auburn would have given it to them.
But one thing Ithat I really find retarded is that Utah is more than likely gonna be rated below OU in the next season.
The Outlaw

3. Liberty Bowl (c'mon... a total shootout... who wouldn't like that? and Boise St. finally got exposed for its overratedness)
Are you kidding me? Louisville was one interception away from exposing the BCS to be even more BS and being undefeated. Boise State kept right with them.
Are you retarded?

How can people say USC would kill Auburn? You really don't know. Nobody thought USC was gonna blow out OU and it happened. Its all about match ups, and actaully playing the game. You can't really predict when theres that much talent on both teams.
BCWWF
01-08-2005, 04:53 PM
I didn't say that they would get killed, I just said that I don't think they could have won. USC was the number one team all year and I think beating OU like that proved it. Of course thats just an opinion, depending on the game situations Auburn could have come out and won 50-0. I am just saying that I think USC would have won regardless of who they played.
Also, it looks like for 2006 they are adding a fifth BCS Bowl game and are in meetings now to decide the details. Personally I think it would be kind of a mistake if they add more conference champions. I say they should keep the six BCS conferences they have and then have four wild cards. I just don't think that MAC and WAC and C-USA or any of those could produce a top 10 team each year. If there were five bowls this season then Cal and Boise both would have made it.
Its just kind of funny how each year there is a complaint about the BCS but its different each year. Last year it wasn't accurate because USC and LSU were considered by the writers to be the top two. This year, the BCS and the writers agreed, but now a team pretty unanimously third is making complaints. Its not going to be perfect until there is a playoff (even then there will still be plenty of controversy, purely because of the nature of it all), but really in my opinion the BCS system worked pretty well in terms of a national championship. It didn't do so well in some of the other games, Cal should have been in it over Pitt and V-Tech, but I think if they add a fifth bowl that would all solve itself.
