On the fifth episode of Saturday Night's Main Event, which aired February 15, 1986, King Kong Bundy defeated some slug named Steve Gatorwolf. Does anyone know why a jobber was on Saturday Night's Main Event, or why they picked this one, or why he was never heard of again? Were there ever any plans for this guy to be big? Thanks for your help.

Vince wanted a real Native American Wrestler. Gatorwolf was his guy, except Gatorwolf wasn't ready when Vince had huge plans for him. Gatorwolf sucked in the ring and had no ability. He was suppossed to be big, but never turned out like Vince thought he would. Eventually he became a jobber.

Oh and the Bundy thing was probably just to get Bundy ready for Hogan at Mania 3. Bundy had to look dominant so he probably sqashed Steve.

To further Loosey's answer, he was a complete nit-wit. Couldn't remember to do a little fucking dance after the matches half the time, was a terrible in ring performer, and really would sell or deliever moves worth a dime...yet Vince in all his big man wisdom thought that this man could be HUGE becuase he was 300 pounds. Nice call Vince.
...If anyone cares Steve Gatorwolf now runs the American Wrestling Federation...
