Wel, Helmsphere here, again, still wondering where Funky Fly is, i haven't seen in him in almost a week now...

Moving forward, yesterday Wrestler, Paul London, scored a above average but not good enough, 81, While he may be mega talented, he has really failed to taste sucess, which kept him from a higher score, Anyways, Today's Wrestler is former UFC Champion, WWE Intercontinental Champion, King OF The Ring Winner, and the first ever NWA-TNA World Heavyweight Champion, He is the world's Most Dangerous Man, Ken Shamrock!

FINALLY. http://tpww.net/forums/images/smilies/love.gif

Now, even though he is the 'wrestler' who got me hooked into wrestling, I have to give him a 9.5, and not the 10 which my heart wants to give him, because you can't really put him up there with the likes of Bret, The Rock, or HBK. Not because he wasn't good enough, but because he wasn't pushed to their level, only up to upper-midcard.

To go off-subject for a moment, you guys know all about the 'Rate The Moment' topic here, well, if I can use that for a moment, I think there's nothing more I'll like to see in the WWE, than Kurt Angle cutting a egotistical promo, then having that guitar riff, Kurt Angle looking around, Shamrock sliding into the ring. suplexing Angle and snap on the Ankle Lock. That would be THE moment to me.

He wasn't anything special. Decent talent, but I didn't much care for him. His gimmick got old quick. He wasn't bad in the ring, but nothing he did ever made me stand up and take notice. I don't even think he was the best transitional guy from UFC to Wrestling either, Ron Waterman is an incredible former UFC Champ turned Pro Wrestler...better then Shamrock in my eyes. Oh well. I enjoy him enough to not have a bad taste about him, but nothing to make him go in my top favorites list...hence the slightly above average 6.

To those who give him a six... you realize that Kevin Nash got a 61 in this thing, right? Ken Shamrock is at least a tad better than Kevin Nash, I'd say.

lol Ron Waterman better then Shamrock. When did Ron win the Tag, IC, and Hardcore belt in the WWF? When did Ron wrestle a championship match, and a dam good one, for the WWF on a PPV? When was Ron Waterman one of the most over babyfaces durng the most popular time in the WWE? Shamrock could of been champion easily and definately was over with the crowd as both babyface and heel. Shamrock was a perfect ir for the IC Title and was one of those guys that when you needed a face to step up and challenge the biggest heel, he was perfect for that. Shamrock was great in the ring and good on the mic. When he hooked that ankle lock, people stood up and cheered. I don't know how 6's come into play here

a very strong 9.

Was a good heel and a good face, could of improved on the mic, but he had this who mental flip thing in the middle of his matches that I really bought into. He wrestling skills were always improving and he was really something different as he had the legit UFC background.

I'd give him a 9 had he not left all of the sudden.

Well....

In the United States, Ric Flair is a legend, who is known by millions.

In Japan....Hayabusa was the same exact thing. So why not?

Jeff Hardy....Ball Mahoney...well, Jeff should be higher in my mind, but they are sorta similar, so I dunno.

Disco and Hurricane...Well for fuck sakes, It's Disco Inferno! (/lara emily mode)

For the record Ken Shamrock never held the Hardcore title :shifty: . And if you are going to argue the point that if the WWF gives someone a title they clearly are talented, Jeff Hardy has won the IC, Tag, Euro, Hardcore, and Light-Heavyweight Titles in the WWF, does that make him more talented then Christopher Daniels who has only jobbed on Jakked for the WWF?

Oh oh oh...and while we get to talk the talk, my personal favorite wrestler of all time (Billy Gunn) has won the IC Title, AND the Tag Title, AND the King of the Ring...all that Shamrock has done, except he also has a run as the Hardcore Champion...now outside of me how many people would say that Billy Gunn is better then Sting, because as well all know Sting never wrestled for the WWF...

Just becuase Ron Waterman never got a chance to make his impact on WWF T.V. doesn't mean he wasn't a phenominal wrestler. In my eyes, and from matches I have seen from him he does a better job then Ken Shamrock. You can be mega over without having a drop of in ring skill, if you want proof look at Ultimate Warrior...you can have a good gimmick and it doesn't mean your a good wrestler, if you want proof look at Hulk Hogan...you can have a major title during a period of great company success and it doesn't mean your great, if you want proof look at Goldberg.

Ken Shamrock in my eyes isn't anything more then a slightly above average wrestler...which is why I gave him a slightly above average (which in theory is a 5) score of 6.

Greetings to all. As some of you older TPWWites know, I fly to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada every year for Christmas and it turns out this year that the computer was fucked up by a virus, cutting me off from my mod duties. Anyway, I'm just stopping in briefly to rate Shamrock, Sticky this thread and let you know that I'll be back full time on January 8th. I'm sorry for not mentioning my flight in the wrestling forum, and I wish you all a <s>crappy</s> happy new year.

Yeah, you can be mega over without having any ring skill, but that's wrestling. We're not just rating ring skill in here, well maybe you are, but nobody else is. It's a combination of skills and obviously Waterman was missing things. Until you make it to the big stage, you are nothing in my eyes. Waterman never made it and there's a reason he didn't. Phenomenal wrestler he was, but what has he ever done where the casual fan is going to say, "yeah, I remember him." Nothing

I wasn't there to vote for Kevin Nash, if I was I would have given him a 4 or 5 depending on my mood at the time...

I am starting to get a bad vibe from these things, I mean the ratings are so clearly skewed. There is no universal truth to any of it, fact of that is shown clearly by Hardcore Holly is ranked lower then the Gobbly Gooker. This entire thing is so subjective, and when you couple that with the fact that not the same people vote in every round, it makes for some discrepancies. Doink the Clown is higher ranked then John Cena...

This is why ranking things on the internet with people is so hard, matches are even worse. Do you know how many times I see people claiming 5 Star matches...with no build up, just some matches on Velocity with Paul London gets a 5 star rating...ridulous.

The fact remains that Ken Shamrock's impact on this sport is at about a 6 out of 10. Did he make it to the WWF? Yes. Did he win some titles? Yes. Did he have a few good matches (though to my memory not a single 5 star match)? Yes. Could he be replaced by most any Tom, Joe or Merry wrestler? In my eyes yes.

And like it or not, Kevin Nash was a draw. Case closed.

So why is it that Hayabusa is so highly ranked? Is he over here in America? I would wager not. And I guess I am not a "casual fan" so I don't vote like a "casual fan"...I vote for how I seem them. And I would be very interested to know what your thinking the "reason" is that Waterman didn't make it to the WWF is...

And while we're on the topic of poeple saying "Yeah, I remember him", Tully Blanchard is in a 3 way tie for the number one spot...most people here I bet have never seen him wrestle a full match, does that mean he is undeserving of being so highly thought of?

And let's run up and down the street and see how many people know Hardcore Holly (Our last place guy) and Ken Shamrock, I am willing to bet that Hardcore Holly out-does Ken...people's knowledge of their skills is only one aspect, mic work is another, also take into acount personal flavor, and natural charisma...on all of these things I view Ken Shamrock as a 6...so that is where the number comes from...I can only vote how I see him, and he is uninspiring...Ron Waterman actually has given me good matches (again in my eyes, so I vote from that perspective).

I agree with you with Hayabusa. I wasn't here to rank him and I wouldn't of ranked him so high. He had wrestling skills, that's it. I don't know why Waterman never made it, ask Vince, JR, or whomever calls up talent. And with Tully, yeah some of this may be "Well other people are rating him high, so I'll rate him high," but I don't know for sure.

And some of this is biased, like with Holly. But there's just no way Shamrock is below average, cause in my book a 60 is failing.

Well Loosey, you have nothing to worry about because with mine and KingofOldSchool's rank of 6, he is still pulling in soem very high numbers and I am sure will end up in the 80s...so in the end, we all win since I got my point out there, and you get to have Ken Shamrock be a well above failing score. :y:
