Help with media player

I downloaded this clip of a Robbie Fowler goal (think it's a .avi file) which is supposed to run in media player. The sound plays but the video doesn't show. I dunno shit about video files, help appreciated.

Two words: Video Codec

Try www.divx.com since that seems to be the most common

Another one is the xVid codec but I don't remember the site right now
