I saw it (the trailer), and since I'm a big fan of basketball movies, I will definitely see it, probably opening weekend.

Yeah I think it looks really good. I was a big fan of Friday Night Lights and I assume it will be very similar

It looks like the stupidest, most cliche shit I have ever seen in my entire life. It looks like it is a joke.

"You take away basketball so you can challenge them academically?"

What is Nonpoint?

If you watch one of the commericals for the movie their version of "In they air tonight" is played it's a wicked song and I have been playing it most of the weekend

In The Air Tonight should not be touched by anyone but Phil Collins.

I think the movie will be better than what people give it credit to be. Yeah, I assume these kids give pu on their studies and decide that playing basketball is good enough for them, and Coach Carter takes it away form them and forces them to buckle down and do something more secure.

I am interested in this film, and I think it will do exactly what it is supposed to do, and it will have people leave the cinema split, much like those in the actual movie, as to if what Coach Carter did was right or not. That's if anyone sees it. :-\

I think I am going to the sneak preview tonight.

What is a sneak preview? Its the full movie right?

Anyway, I read up on it and the actual story took place only a few years ago, so its pretty up to date. This Coach Carter guy is like a celebrity though, he was also a coach of one of those Slam Ball teams and he was with Samuel L. at a Lakers game a few weeks back.

Saw it...I thought it was really good. Maybe it was just selective retention but I didn't think it was as cliche as it sounded. At first it seems like its going to be the new urban version of Hoosiers, new coach comes in, players leave, come back bla bla bla but no, there are all kinds of plot twists and stuff. It was real good if you ask me. I liked Friday Night Lights a lot, and I think if you like that you'd like this.

I dunno how they expect me to believe that the guy who played Spanish in Old School is supposed to be a gangster

Is he the guy who looks like Shaun Livingson?

Its funny because the main characters in the movie, to me at least, all had striking resemblances to NBA players. There was Kobe, Shaun Livingson, Elton Brand, Marion, and Derek Fisher. Somebody else see if you notice.

Another reason I won't see it is because Ashanti is in it

Why do all signers think they can act? Pathetic

Buzzkill

She has never acted before, how do you know she can't act?

John la Rock

Why is she even acting in the first place? Singers should stick with signing as well as actors should stick with acting

Its really a lot better then people are giving it predicting. Its a true story so

SPOILER

the team of shits going undefeated for so long isn't far fetched, because that is actually what happened. But then its not like they win it all, they lose to their rivals in the state tourny right away, so its not like the worst to first story.
