Believe it or not it was Kane, My brother told me about the Hell in the cell between Taker and Mankind so I watched that night and tried to catch every raw since.
Poll coming.

I've been watching basically since the first mania, and Hogan dominated the title at this time, throughout the 80's so I chose him.

Survivor Series 1999 when the Big Show won the title
Hey you started watching wrestling around the same time i did. :)
Or technically, I first watched wrestling the smackdown highlights before SS. it was a 8 man elimination match:
Shane, Kane, The Rock and Steve Austin vs DX
And Triple H was the champion. What a surprise :wavesad:
I'd watch ever so often, but when i first regularly started watching...
Stone Cold Steve Austin
May as well mention Booker T was WCW Champion at the time, only to lose it to The Rock 3 weeks after I started watching.
yea, i started watching when "wrestling went downhill" so it's all my fault :)

I was a fan for ages but i only started watching full time when i got cable back in 2000 when Triple H had just retained his title at Wrestlemania and it was a few weeks before Backlash.

I only watched WCW when I first started watching wrestling regularly. The first Nitro I ever watched all the way through was the one where Goldberg beat Hogan for the title. I'm fairly certain Austin was WWF champion at the time.

Who was the champ when Paul Bearer turned on Taker and joined Mankind in the boiler room brawl?
I think it was either HBK, Sid, or Bret....
Impact!

i started watchin the old 2000,99,98,97,96 tapes from the local video stores so the first one i saw was the rock, but if your talkin live like raw and smackdown, it wouldve been austin
WWE(F): I believe the title was vacant at the time, as it was right before the Survivor Series when the title was up for grabs and The Rock won and joined the Corporation.
WCW: I think Goldberg was champion at the time

When I started watching it was January 2001, although I did watch an episode of SmackDown! in late 2000. In both editions, Kurt Angle was OUR WWE Champion. Oh it's true, it's true. .

Ultimate Warrior, beginning of 1991 (just before he lost it to Slaughter).
Probably Hogan since I was just a kid and don't recall.

The most I can remember is around Hogan's day. Hogan, Savage, Slaughter days. I dont' remember too much of it but I do remember it was with them. I started remembering around the Bret Hart time.

Stone Cold Steve Austin
Even though the first piece of wrestling I watched was the Austin/Tyson confrontation. I didnt start watching it regularly until later on in the year during the summer in 1998. By then Austin had the title.
Hogan back in 2002. Christ, wrestling makes time fly . . .

anyway I started watching WWF when Shawn Michaels was champion at the end of 1997, I loved the Shawn Michaels Vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin match at Wrestlemania, Mike Tyson
I started watching WCW the night Goldberg debuted and beat hugh morris

I watched WCW when I was younger, but I started to follow WWF since KOTR 99, so whoever was the champ then would be the one... I'd say Undertaker, Stone Cold or the Rock...

The first full show I watched was Armageddon 1999, and I remember it being Big Show vs Big Boss Man for the title. So it was Big Show.

This was a hard question for me...the question of when did I start watching wrestling is 1980's...but when did I start watching WWF was 1991 (When Ric showed up on WWF)...I was an NWA fan. So for me, the Champ at the time was Ric Flair...quite honestly I didn't watch WWF, but I guess when I got into wrestling (Time approx.) Hulk Hogan was the WWF Champ.
I miss the NWA. :(
I was a WCW fan when I first started (late 96), and I believe Hogan was the champion. But, since this is WWE, the earliest memory I have from WWE is going to a house show at MSG. The main event was Psycho Sid vs. Bret Hart in a cage match for the title. Bret won, and was obviously champion. So Bret.

Bret in the summer of 1997

I'd seen bits and bobs of Livewire and things like that (second earliest memory is Bang 3:16, earliest is inferno match)
But the first full RAW I saw was when Roch threw Austin and the Smoking Skull Belt off Roody Poo bridge on Candy Ass lane, so Stone Cold.
First PPV I saw was Over The Edge 1999 (RIP Owen) when Austin was screwed and Undertaker won.

I started watching regularly in December of 2001, just after Jericho became the first Undisputed Champ. So Jericho.
