It seems like Batista has been getting alot of love lately. People is calling him a very good wrestler with amazing charisma. I personally think Batista is overrated. I think without having matches with Benoit,HBK,HHH,Jericho, etc. on a weekly basis he would fall hard. If Batista was on Smackdown, I don't think people would praise him as much. Batista is one lucky guy because he's nothing without Raw.

I think Batista would be succesful on Smackdown, there's plenty of superstars that he could practicly kill and destroy on Smackdown. I can think of many smackdown wrestlers that could beat Batista. Here's the possibles:
1. Undertaker.
2. Big Show.
3. Kurt Angle.
4. John Cena.

I'm not sure about Eddie as he's been losing to Rey Mysterio recently, though Rey is good, I think Batista could beat him.

If Batista was on SD! he could be the next Brock Lesnar, but on Raw he is held down because of, guess who... :shifty:

He definately gets help from being in the ring with Benoit and Jerihco every other week, but he has improved a great deal in the last year or so. So, cerdit where its due.

I think he'd get over on either brand. But for now, he at least has to finish the issue with HHH, and get the title from him at Mania.

I know there was the talk of having Orton and Cena come out of Mania as their brands champions, and then switching shows. I think it would be a decent idea to have Batista win the title and then switch with Cena. That way you can do Cena-Orton on RAW (people seem to want to see that one) and Batista could set up soemthing with Brock on SD. Or go the other way, and put Brock on RAW and Orton on SD. Serves the same purpose.

Just imagine at the Royal Rumble, if Batista enters which he will, there is a staredown between Batista and someone like Kane/Big Show

Kane and Batista put on a 5 star match in comparison to the Snitfest last night on RAW a while back. I think Batista can go in the ring, its just a question of whether the WWE wants to pull the trigger or not.

Batista has benefitted A LOT form Evolution. They deserve the most credit for Dave Batista's improvement.

As much as I am fond of Benoit's skills, there is no way he could carry dead weight to a good match. He'd need to be able to play both parts, and that just isn't possible. Benoit gets the best out of people, true, but saying he's (and others) are the only thing holding Batista up is a bit exaggerated, IMO. Dave's standing on his own two feet here, and I for one am proud of him (despite not knowing the man personally).

On SmackDown! Batista would be a big draw, IMO. If there's ever nothing in the works for the Leviathan on RAW, I'd ship him to SmackDown!, and use him in a big storyline. Batista beating The Undertaker at WrestleMania? I'd love to see it. Batista vs. Kurt Angle? It would be new, and I'd love to see it. Batista catching Rey Mysterio and flinging him around? Eddie Guerrero and Batista getting some time to work up a storm? They're all knew, and Batista would be free to dominate without consequence.

It's a bit pointless to say that Batista "needs" Jericho, Benoit, HBK, etc. Who cares?

I DO however want to comment on one thing: Batista's potential as a face....and why he MIGHT be able to succeed where guys like Orton, Cena, Guerrero, Kane (in the past), Angle, etc. have (to varying degrees) FAILED as faces.

-Batista's character doesn't seem like it will change a whole lot if he makes the turn (fingers crossed). In a sense, Batista's lack of mic skills may actually help him in this case.

When you take a look at guys like Orton, Cena, Guerrero, and Angle, they kind of lost that "edge" when they made their face turns. Granted - they still got/get decent cheers, but they were nowhere near as effective as their heelish selves.

What made guys like Austin, and The Rock soooo popular when they first became top faces, was they acted VERY similar to their heelish selves.

Think back to Austin in 98', and The Rock between WM-15 and WM-2000.

On the other hand, I'm almost a bit scared in seeing Batista turn face. Knowing the WWE, they may try and deliberately make him 'suck up' to the fans (or make him a pussy like they did with Kane in 2000).

If Batista turns face, they need to make him SQUASH his opponents in convincing fashion for a few months or so (like his match with Rhyno for instance).

I don't think he's gonna turn face anyway though.

That's my biggest fear with Batista as well. He should keep his "who gives a damn" attitude. I know some people hate comparing new wrestlers to old ones, but Austin was always getting ovations, and he never said once that he loved the fans.

That is why Orton's face turn sucked. He was so cocky, arrogant, and didn't want our cheers, and we LOVED him for it. But then he gets beat down, loses the title, and now he's trying to get cheers from us? I was sort of hoping somewhere deep down in heart, that Orton would win the Elimination Chamber, then get cocky and turn semi-heel and start up a feud with The Rock heading into WrestleMania. Maybe have Orton go as far as facing the Royal Rumble winner and The Rock on the same night, and then have him beat The Rock, then lose the title to Batista?

Most of the people we love as heels aren't as good when they turn face, and they lose a lot of their edge, but I guess it is hard to change the way we think of a person, without changing their personality. For Orton and Batista it should have been/should be easy, though, simply because they were/will be feuding with Triple H. What is the point of The Game establishing himself as the ultra-heel of RAW, only to not use that to their advantage when they have a feud with another lesser heel?
