anyone use/familiar w/ it?

does it work of a hub like a wireless network or is it off satalite ie: a cell phone.

What I want to do is be able to print from a Palm Pilot to a Printer, but they won't be near each other, multiple miles away...

Is that what bluetooth allows? like a cell phone distance?

I support Bluetooth devices at my current job. 10 meters is in ideal conditions. In a real house/appartment settings, don't even try over 3-5 meters.

Bluetooth is only good for wireless mouse/keyboard/headset, and is basically just to eliminate wires between devices, like your printer and your computer.

It' also useful for tranfer of data between PDAs and stuff. Maybe they'll improve it in future. Somehow the Nintendo DS lets you play wirelessly form 100 yards (like 90 metres) in ideal conditions, or so I heard.

The DS uses wireless networking technology I think, rather than bluetooth.
