I'm backing up my DVD and have came across a problem, most DVD you buy to burn stuff onto is about 4.7 GB, well almost all the movies, i'm trying to back up, go over this, is there any way to compress them or a program that does it for you or something?

DVD shrink will do it. The only problem is you will

a.)Have to rip out all of the extras
b.)Probably rip out most of the menu's
c.)Rip out a lot of the 5.1 audio
d.)Compress the movie slightly reducing quality.

Get a dual layer writer and you will be able to do the whole movie.

See I've been shrinking whole discs with DVD Shrink and not had any problems with the main movie, and only a slight reduction in quality on the extras.

Clone DVD used with Any DVD is the best easiest method around.
Clone dvd to shrink and burn, Any DVD to unlock protected disks.

Clone dvd to shrink and burn, Any DVD to unlock protected disks.

dvd shrink does both

*dvd shrink uses nero to do the burning...
