View Full Version : Rate The Wrestler - Day 139 - John Tenta

Mister Sinister

Hello everyone, Helmsphere here and I'm sorry for the late RTW, I was playing Resident Evil 4 and I couldn't stop till I feel asleep.

Anyways, Bruno Sammartino scored a 86, which is a good score, i don't know if Funky will let that score go without becoming crazed...

Anyways, today Wrestler is a great man, he is a man with a huge heart and like me, is suffering from some form of Cancer, he is the man who has wrestled under many names, which is why i said John Tenta, since he has had so many gimmicks.

So without farther ado...Here is The Shark, Avalanche, Golga, and Earthquake!

8.7. I know he's going to be overrated. We all love John, but there's just no way he should get as high a score as he will.

9, for being one of the best heels of the early 90's.

Earthquake should have beat Hogan at Summerslam (90??) and he was the best heel of the 90's

And Golga was the man, anyone who loves Cartman is alright in my book

Get well soon John Tenta!!

Ok please... John Tenta has a heart of gold, and nobody's got anything bad to say about him as a person. But come on, these scores are ridiculous. He was fat and really couldn't do shit wrestling wise. he gets a 4 from me. i'd give him higher but I need to even this out

4.7, I like him but I cannot justify giving him a higher score, especially after what Bruno just scored :nono:

especially after what Bruno just scored :nono:
and what Flair scored.

I should be mad about Sammartino's score (especially since I forgot to vote, myself), but I'm not surprised. Earthquake gets 8.8 from me. He could work the crowd, man. And that finisher... GOOD GAWD!

By no means was he ever the best in ring competitor but he was a great heel and could really work the crowd.

His also a very nice bloke. Ive lerked round his wrestlecrap forum before and he seems like a cool guy.

I hope he overcomes this cancer.

That's sad that Raven, Flair, The Undertaker and even Jake Roberts scored more than Bruno did. In actuality, they'd be lucky to wrestle on the same canvas that he did.

Back to my 9 - here's why. Tenta could always get heat from the crowd, both facing and heeling. He also cut decent promos, sold good, and had a great grasp of old-style psychology. He also busted his nuts to get into the business to begin with, and rather than think that he deserved respect (like most of the guys today do) he earned it. A really tough guy - and definitely a team player, as he always did what was asked of him.

Some of you people are just plain assholes. This RTW is not just about ring-talent. So don't bullshit. It is the full rating of the 360 of wrestling. Charisma,Mic Skills,Wrestling Ability, and the intangibles.

John "f'n" Tenta gets a 9.5 from me just because he still keeps in touch with the fans, and it doesn't get any better than that!

Also, you bastards need to rent some old wrestling tapes from a shitty movie rental place or something YEESH!

[rep me] for saying [/yeesh]
