I just heard that La Resistance won the Tag Titles at a house show in Canada. Some guy on a message board I post at said he just got back from the show and La Resistance beat Regal and Coach :wtf: Meltzer should have it up on his site. Gonna go see.

A few noteworthy things at today's show. First, they did an actual title switch. La resistance won the tag belts from regal, who was forced to have coach as his partner but never did tag him in.

and LC, what is the point in marking for spoilers, if you're going to have (basically) what the spoiler is in the title itself.

To be honest, I think "La Resistance" has really run its course as a tag team.

I don't mind the 'pairing' of Grenier and Conway, but I think they should either

A) Get a new gimmick

B) Break off, and get new gimmicks as singles wrestlers.


Grenier seems like a fairly charismatic guy. It would be interesting to see him as a singles competitor...with an altered gimmick.

They could have waited until Raw this week and had Regal looking for a new partner and then being lumbered with Coach.

I understand that Nick Dinsmore is injured therefore cannot hold up a title right now but title changes at house shows when not completely necessary are a bit stupid.

They made the right choice with where to put the titles at least :)

Nope, Smart move to do a Title Switch at a hose show. WHY? Becuase it makes a houseshow look like it means something. People are going to see on Raw that the Title was switched on a Non-TV show over the weekend and say to themselves "Hey, I didn't think Titles could switch on NON-TV shows, let's get tickets to the next show here. Something like that may happen."

Of course that's why they did it. That's why Christian took the IC belt from Booker at a house show a while back. THat's why Bradshaw "gave" Eddie's mom a "heart attack" at a house show. B/c no matter the ratings situation, it's TICKET SALES that drive this organization.

But they'd better have a reason. I"m getting sick of "just because" running as the dominant logic around here. For example, why La Resistance? Why not Christian/Tomko? Or some other heelish tag yeam I can't think of right now.

And yes, seeing as how LR doesn't even TALK anymore, let alone bash America, unless they hook up with Ahab the Arab, I don't see why they're still parading around with the "France is Great" crap. Dupree dropped it, and he's doin' O.K. Let the other two live a little.

Screw the tag division. Basically it's:

La Resistance are the champs.

One of two things happens:

a) Team wins them for a brief time before the titles go back to La Resistance.

b) Thrown together team wins titles, but splits up and in the process drops titles to La Resistance.

I LOVE the idea of a World Tag Team Championship change at a house show. I saw it a report and had to read back several times. A few more of these and we're on the way to house shows SELLING! BTW, just a random bit of trivia, this is Sylvain Grenier's fourth World Tag Team Championship reign.

Anyway, I too have to ask, why put the titles on La Resistance again? Can you image the reaction if Christian and Tyson Tomko walked down to the ring with the World Tag Team Championship? It would be like Christian's third unseen title win (I think).

Anyway, good for La Resistance, and I hope they do something pretty good with the World Tag Team Championship (they could have a great match against Jericho and Benoit one night).

Just out of curiosity, I think Sylvain Grenier would be great with a mixture between the "French" and "Narcissist" gimmicks. I can even see him turning face eventually, but not before getting a solid push with a heel diva at his side. Or you could send him to SmackDown!, give both him and Rene that gimmick, and have them re-team. Maybe give them seperate valets? Have them play more different characters than last time, though.

I would love to see Sylvain Grenier and Johnny Devine team for some reason, but I can't see Devine joining the WWE (with him not being too happy about their stabbing angle).

How would a face La Resistance work? I can see it, but as long as they get mic time. Maybe have them become fast-snapping faces that are nice until they witness an act of racism or some out of line comment about their choice of respresentation? I doubt it would play out well, though.

Yeah, a smart financial move by the WWE there. In the past few weeks on RAW and Smackdown they've been showing highlights of house shows during the week. Well this week when it's on they'll show a brief highlight of the tag title change and the fans will start coming to house shows. IMO, sometimes it's nicer to go to a house show than a televised event because you can interact with the superstars more. But if you're all about the wrestling it may not be of the same standard as televised shows.

La Res should just be really obnoxious pro-French snobs that are NOT anti-American... they just parade their superiority around. They can even go around and say they're the best cooks, fighters, and lovers.

Yeah, that's VERY similiar to what I wanted to see. They don't need to be anti-American, because they're French, which makes them better than everyone automatically.

Maybe have American wrestlers trying to score with the RAW Divas, then have Rob (he's not French, but he's got the "French Physique" that is carried by Grenier and Duperee) and Sylvain come up and make the other guy(s) look like crap, and then La Res score with the Diva.

I can easily see La Res with Christy Hemme as a valet.
