Nah, each game needs a thread and the old ones will naturally die off.

Anyway, yeah... will be great.

Having Dillon will make a huge difference, and hopefully have seymour back.

The way the Pats played today and the way the steelers looked yesterday, would anyone be shocked if the Pats are favored?

Heck, the game today was 1.5 and before kickoff was a pick... WTF, talk about not giving the Pats resepect.

I'd assume the line will open, Steelers by 3, which is the "given" for a home team in the playoffs... but wouldn't be shocked to see it swing to the Pats by mid-week.

I just really want the back-to-back superbowls, plus 3 in 4 years will give them the "Dynasty" title.

Yeah I'd bet an arm that Doug Brien isn't the Jets kicked next year.

The Jets would have gotten hammered. At least The Steelers will give them a game. A losing effort, but a game nonetheless.

And Peyton just showed, the regular season means NOTHING!

Tom Brady= undefeated in the playoffs.

What makes you think that Pittsburgh can play the Patriots so much better than the Jets could, given the fact that Pittsburgh escaped only by the fact that the Doug Brien can't put the ball through the posts?

There is too much parody in the NFL these days, you can't really speculate something like that and be sure about it.

The Steelers will beat them just like the Colts where going to today aswell

Everyone who says Dillon is just one guy, and didn't have an effect on the 1st game is a retard. Patriots had 5 yards rushing, 5 fucking yards. That is ridiculous. I think Dillon will be getting a little bit more then 5 rushing yards. That will allow the Patriots to be more balanced, so then the Steelers won't be able to drop everyone back and play pass every single down. People forget, Steelers dominated the Patriots but Patriots still only lost by 14.

Steelers struggled with the Jets this week, Patriots handled the Jets both times they played them. You think Big Ben doesn't have his 1st playoff game in the back of his head? He played fucking terrible, throwing the ball over guys heads and everything. I think I saw him make one above average play all game.

We'll see what happens, but I am pretty confident here.

Triple A
01-16-2005, 10:57 PM
The Patriots only "handled" the Jets in the second game. Jets had the first game won (fumbled inside the 10, McCariens dropped a TD pass at the end of the game), and they only lost by 6.

They destroyed the Jets in the second game though, I will give them that. BUT NOT BOTH TIMES STFU.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
01-16-2005, 11:03 PM
I said they handled them, which they did both times.

I didn't say they blew them out both times, they just won both times. Jets didn't have the game won the 1st time, and then blow it. They had a chance at winning the game but they didn't.

Nervous Ferret
01-16-2005, 11:03 PM
Zteelers didn't struggle against the jets. The Jets outlpayed them and should have won. Despite they haven't scored on offensive td against the steelers in 12 quarters.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
01-16-2005, 11:05 PM
Yeah thats true, the defense didn't struggle. The Steelers offense didn't look too good though. Patriots have a better defense then the Jets, and they have a better offense aswell. It will be a close one, but I think the Patriots will pull it out.

I would put my money on the Patriots, I missed the regular season game so i'll watch this one, if for nothing but to watch Roethlisberger get molested :(

Gonzo
01-16-2005, 11:34 PM
If Roethlisberger plays anything like he did against the Jets and the Patriots play anything like they did against Peyton and the Colts, then you can see New England in the Bowl. I kind of want NE to win the Superbowl again.

And Peyton just showed, the regular season means NOTHING!

Tom Brady= undefeated in the playoffs.
Actually the regular season does mean something. See, if the Colts and/or Patriots sucked in the regular season, they would not be in the playoffs. So I'm pretty sure those wins meant something.

Well...uhh...yeah...so is Ben? Less games but yeah. What's your point? That he's a proven winner? We already knew that.

CBS has an interesting quote from someone in Indy, after the regular season loss they said "We just lost a home game".

Had Indy won, the game probably would have been in Indy. Heck, Indy would have had a 1st round bye.

When's the last time the Visiting team was favored in an AFC or NFC championship game? Can't believe it's 2.5.... and you normallt get 3pts for being home, so that's a 5.5point swing.

Radd, yes, the Pats lost in the regular season, but they didn't have Dillon, that's a huge factor.

I'm hoping for Seymour back, that would be huge.

Should be a good game, the Steelers WR are bigger and more physical then Indy, but Big Ben has looked like crap the last few weeks.

So, who's a steeler fan? Someone looking for an Avatar bet? :D

First off, the Jets only scored 3 points against Pittsburghs defence. the other 14 came off a interception and a punt return.

Second the last time they played, when New England had a healthy defence Steelers ran for over 200 yards to win. So yes the Steelers can very well play the Pats and WIN again.

IM still going with Pittsburgh vs. Eagles in the Superbowl

No question the Steelers can win.

The Pats D wasn't healthy, Law had a bad hamstring and I'm pretty sure thats the game he broke his foot and I think Poole was already out.

The most important missing thing from that game was Corey Dillon.

If I was Pittsburg I'd be pissed. your 15-1, you already beat NE, and your the #1 seed and the Pats are favored 2.5 or 3pts depending on where you look.

Normally the home team gets 3pts just for being home, so it's like a 6pt swing.

I was pissed 'cause I have to work today. Then I found out I have to work 10-6, which does kinda suck, but I'll be home right in time for the game. Gonna miss the Eagles/Falcons, but oh welllll this game's gonna be more exciting anyway. Can't wait :loveeeee:

It makes me wonder how much of the first half was due to rookie jitters and how much was pure skill by the Pats. It's probably a pretty even combination of the two, or maybe leaning a bit more towards the skill thing. Even though Pittsburgh has been scoring, they haven't been dominant by any means.

1) Wasn't padding the score, the Steelers still had a chance and the game was going on. a game of onside kicks and long passes, it wasn't over at that point.

2) I'm not bored yet, even though it's my team, I know what you mean. I want to see this win for the 3/4 and 2 in a row, to solidify them as a dynasty, also if Brady wins the MVP a 3rd time, you can start his hall of fame speach.

So, anyone hear Cower hang Ben out to dry in the press confrence.

said something like "We can't win when he throws 3 int's"

Which is true, but how about admit the fact he played with a bad thumb and did the best he could.

Yeah, last week it was "getting used to a glove cause they didn't fit"

What was yesterday? playing with it on the sidelines, pouring freezing water on it? The guy what hurt, but clearly the coach still felt it was a better option then the other QB's.

That's on the coach, you have a guy you know is injured and his throw are off, you as a coach need to pull him...

Almost backfired though, someone nearly took the ball from Brady. That would have been a sight. Guy takes it full stride all the way for a TD.

I did that on NCAA 2005 once on an option. My boy I used to play high school ball with did that in a college game not too long ago out in Cali.

No doubt, they are a dynasty regardless. Brady and his "hey I got picked in the 6th round and was going to have Rattay picked over me and now I have two rings and two MVPS." :'(

01-25-2005, 02:02 AM
Cower should have had a better game plan. No way the Steelers are going to win if Big Ben needs to win it for them by throwing. Shit not even Payton Manning could do that. When the Patriots beat the Colts in the 1st game of the season, reason it was so close was because of the running game of the Colts. Once the Patriots got their run defense straight it was a wrap. Same case for the Steelers

VonErich Lives

So, Big Ben broke some toes in his foot. They're saying it was on a run late in the 2nd qtr.

Funny thing is, no one can seem to find a play where something like that might have happened.

There's already "rumors" that he may have kicked something in the lockeroom at half time.

No facts to those rumor but it wouldn't shock me.

Also, it came out that the night before the game Brady was in his hotel room w/ 103 temp and an IV in his arm for fluids.

Jesus Shuttlesworth

this is true, but even if you just jam your toe you have some type of imediate reaction. A wince or quick hop or something. Then again, it was so friggen cold, he may not have felt it.
