Maybe it's the fans.
Seriously, people do all kinds of complaining about how BAD the WWE is, but did you hear the fans in Canada tonight???? Those people were pumped! They appreciate the product, much more than Americans are, and they in turn have much fun with it. I'll say it again. Maybe it's not the product. Maybe it's the fans. Maybe the product isn't bad (okay, it is at times). Maybe it's just the Americans fans have become too critical. Yeah, I'll admit the product can be bad - though not as often as some of you claim - but the Canadians still have fun with it while the Americans sit here and bitch. Canadian fans are AWESOME. American fans are ingrates.

It's both, but Canadian fans are some of the best in the world, so what did you expect?

Canadian fans appreciate hard workers and talented performers. Why do you think Angle and HHH get HUGE pops everytime they come to Canada? Because we appreciate great talent.
We couldn't give two shits about Snitsky, Maven, or any other retarded jobber who we are forced to cheer for

Actually HHH really only gets popped here when facing someone we dont like. He was up against bland Orton. He'll get his pops.
But other then that, I agree.
Anyways, the fans in Canada make the show that jmuch more interesting all the time.

Both the fans and the product are what make it what it is. If the fans dont like what they see when there in the crowd then they let everyone else know. Just watch the Lesnar Vs Goldberg match or the Richards Vs Tomko match. The fans told everyone what they thought of those matches.
Good fans do make a good match but its also what goes in it. Right now WWE has had some bad stuff on the tv. But its just something we all have to live with. It will be soon that TNA finally gets big enough and WWE will back in war mode again and hopefully we can expect some great entertainment to come.

I remember it. I was there.

You're right. Some of the stuff has been terrible. But the difference between American fans and Canadian fans, is that Canadian fans can still have fun. They can go to the matches, and have a good time, while most Americans go there and bitch.

I hope so. I have my doubts though.

Oh definitely. There are definitely times when the product is lacking. But the Canadians can take it and make the most of it. You guys can still have fun, and most Americans can't. Know what I mean? :y:

lol the wave is awesome. I was cracking up so much during JBL/Taker at SS. Also tonight in Kane/Snitsky.
No, it's not the fans, because it is always the job of the show to give the fans what they want. The customer is always right.

It's not all Americans that are critical. Now I'm not trying to call someone out, but being on these boards, one of the most critical people I've read is Canadian, and goes by the name CyNick. I've seen him criticize everything. And I'm American, but I still love the product. I try not to criticize too much except the most obvious of things.

I have to disagree
HHH is extremely over in Canada. He'd get a huge pop even if he interrupted Canada's favorite son Chris Jericho

I doubt it. He's associated with the Kliq and DX. Take a look at how everyone..HBK, Nash and Hall..cant get positive reactions up here. HHH would get the same deal if he wasn't always up against someone we particularly dont realy like anyways.
He may be more liked then those guys combined, but I doubt he'd get any pops but the odd cheer here and there over like a jericho or Benoit..

Personally I'm more of an ECW fan, from now until I die I will always be an ECW Mutant. ECW fans apprieciated the product as well, but we also let you know when we thought something sucked. Hence, I'll pull for guys like Kurt, Brock, Eddie, Jericho, Beniot, Richards, Styles, or Lance Storm (there are hundreds of others for that matter, Punk, Low Ki, Ultimo, ect) over anyone else. However, facts are facts, the WWE hasn't created an interesting product in quite a few months outside of the main event slots, hell they've struggled with the main event slot programming for that matter.

No, I'm pretty sure it's the product. It's not like we have some sort of weird obligation to the product, they're supposed to entertain us, that's THEIR job. We're not supposed to work to BE entertained.

Look.
It is a matter of both.
The fans- Canada does have the best fans out there. I will say that much. But we also know what we want and what we do not want. And lately what the WWE has been shovin down our throats isn't what we want. And if it isn't something that we like then we aren't gonna idly sit by and pretend nothing is goin on. We are going to voice it. If we hate it then we hate it. If we are tired of it then we are tired of it. And I did see teh wave goin on in that Kane/Snitsky match. That was a highlight for me. :D But anyway, look at WM XX. Lesnar vs. Goldberg, the fans really didn't like that match cause there was nothing goin on in that match. Angle vs. Eddie or Benoit vs. HHH vs. HBK and the fans were alive. Why? because it was good stuff.
The product - The product has become a lil stale. Well quite stale. It's like they are running out of ideas so they will either rehash somethin that was already done like a year or two ago or they will just shove someone down your throats over and over. Like Orton for example. Back then he was cool. When he made his face turn he was cool. He was liked. Then he kept showin up. More and more and more. And soon the fans begin to lose interest because we can take so much of a good thing before the good thing isn't that good anymore. That happened to Orton.
Maybe we are a little demanding, maybe we want too much, but IMO, it is both the product and the fans. Not just the product, or the fans separetly.

I remember when I was at No Way Out in 2003. Jericho was in the opening match against Jeff Hardy and got the biggest pop of the night. Then we booed everything in the HHH/Steiner match, no matter who was on offense. Good times.

yeah I was at the Royal Rumble for the first Steiner/HHH match. Steiner was getting booed and HHH was getting nothing. Everyone was rooting for Flair...
It just made me appreciate the Benoit/Angle creamfest more

I hope they never do, because it's funny has hell to see HBK get booed. Also the "YOU SCRWED BRET" chant is one of the best chants ever.
Should they get over? Probably, but for entertainment purposes I hope they never get over it.

Wow, I don't even remember a Jericho/Hardy feud. How long did it last and what was the purpose, or was it thrown together the week before or the Heat the night of?

I think it was supposed to be Jericho v Test because that was the whole deal when Jericho hit Stacy with a chair just before the ppv. Something happened with Test, so they just threw Jeff in there for the ppv.
But with Canadian fans, it can't be said that they appreciate the product more. If anything, they give a big F U to the WWE. Most shows I've watched from there, majority of the fans cheer the heels and boo people like Eugene and Zach Gowen. So thats basically them saying "we're not going to be dictated on who to cheer for, and not buy into their gimmick", thats a big F U to WWE right there.

You cant really ask the fans to get over what happened to Bret, as it is obvious the wwe are still not over Bret. They try everything they can to get that chant, or to somehow refer to it. We cant be expected to get over it if the company wont.
Just look at Bischoff last night for example taking us back to mania12. Or the king and ross harping on about the screwjob.
The WWE doesn't mind getting reactions for anything. I'm sure HBK prefers that chant over the "faggot" chants we used to give him.
i am still drooling over christian's pop yesterday

It's not the fans. For people to really like something, they have to care about it. A lot of people don't care about the WWE, and that is why we seem so negative a lot of the time. We've all chosen guys we care about, whether they be Christian, Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Muhammad Hassan, Randy orton, Batista, Eddie Guerrero or whoever. Instead we get people like JBL and Triple H. I like both guys, but if they announced their retirement tomorrow, not many people will lose any sleep.
The WWE screw us around by focusing on the main event, and pack it with people we don't care about, or people we did care about until the WWE removed them from us. This isn't our fault. Sure we could be more electric at shows, and really get the wrestlers into what they're doing, but the thing is, we'd rather voice the things that the WWE is doing to remove us from their product.
See TNA. A lot of people have fans that care about them. The whole X-Division is filled with people we care about, and that is what makes the crowd so hot when they do their stuff.
Sure people could be really hot for a match and "save" it, but I think people who generally don't take interest in that portion of an event should just watch in silence until it is over. Why? Because they don't care. Kane vs. Gene Snitsky, you don't care, you don't participate. The WWE will get the message when guys like Christian get standing ovations. When we crae baout the majority of people being used, the few we don't we lend sympathy to, since we care about pretty much everyone on the roster. Gene Snitsky vs. Kane would have a much hotter crowd if we got to see matches like Jericho vs. Benoit every week.
Give us something we can get excited about, and we will praise it, and then if they sneak it something that doesn't, if it is presented along with pure awesome stuff we can accept it in a similiar way. Give us The Undertaker vs. Heidenreich and Snitsky vs. Kane on every show, and we aren't going to disguise we are upset.

One thing that always bugged me: since Canadian fans cheer more for hard workers and good technical wrestling, why the hell does Hulk Hogan get such big pops there (and in Japan, for that matter)?

But I made this thread on Monday night, after seeing/hearing how excited the fans were in Canada. Was every thing great on RAW this week? No, I'm afraid not, but the fans in Canada were still pumped about the show and they still enjoyed it. They didn't just sit on their hands like we do in the states.

You're probably right there, but I think most people that go to shows actually enjoy what they see. A more electric crowd would make the shows enjoyable, though.
I'd watch RAW and all its replays if they had "I Screwed Chyna!" screamed out during them everytime. ;)
