The First Velocity of the year... 01/03/04!

A-Train .vs. Funaki
Winner: A-Train by pinfall
*I am liking Velocity already! A-Train is on Velocity, where he should be. Don't get me wrong, this guy is good in the ring but he's up with stiff competition of superstars (cruiserweights) who can just tear it up in the ring, and those superstars should be the ones showcased on Smack Down, but the WWE is the land of the giants and that will simply never change.

Basham Brothers .vs. Jose & Joel Maximo
Winners: the Basham Brothers by pinfall
*I've seen Jose & Joel in the indy scene and TNA and they've had some great matchups. Although, this match wasn't the greatest. Danny Basham doesn't really impress me, but Doug on the other hand seems to have all the tools to make it. They are really green as a tag team though and their whole gimmick is just weird. Shaniqua is the next Chyna in my eyes, except a female winning a mans title has already been done, so there won't be another female wrestler to do the same. Also, its hard to even consider Doug & Danny aka Damaja, as brothers when they had a bitter rivalry in OVW. I saw a match of theirs and it was pretty good and I hope they renew this rivalry in the WWE.

Jamie Noble .vs. Brandon Groom
Winner: Jamie Noble via submission
*Jamie Noble showed me yet again why he is such a great wrestler. He's been a great wrestler, and he even has a gimmick that matches well with his look. I've never seen this Brandon Groom guy before but he looked alright in the ring. He was kind of bland.

Shannon Moore & Orlando Jordan .vs. Akio & Sakoda
Winners: Shannon Moore & Orlando Jordan by pinfall
*Shannon Moore was definitly the main man in this match. Orlando Jordan actually seems to be progressing very well, contrary to the way I felt of him when he made his debut. Akio is simply phenomenally crisp in the ring for a high flyer. I'd look for this guy to be the cruiserweight champ before 2004 is all said and done. Sakoda on the other hand, hasn't impressed me a whole lot. He looks awkward in the ring and doesn't seem to gel with the other superstars.

***Match of the Night: Shannon Moore & Orlando Jordan .vs. Akio & Sakoda
***Spot of the Night: Akio's corner kick moonsault/dropkick move (Any one have the correct name for this?)

I was impressed with this weeks Velocity. May not have been as great as previous shows but its certainly interesting, for me at least, to see the next generation of stars develop. My only wish is that the WWE would stop reairing matches from Smack Down so then we could see 1 or 2 more matches. Depending on the feedback I get, will depend if I do this for this weeks Velocity.

I'm out... any comments? thoughts? or flames perhaps?

Then you'll probably be in for a treat this week. It's pretty damn sweet.

Sweet, I will be waiting anxiously. Velocity's actually the only wrestling show I've seen since the new year.

SAT's are in WWE? What did I miss.

They were just on Velocity doing the J.O.B. to the WWE Tag Team Champs the Basham Brothers. This doesn't mean that they are now in the WWE, sometimes the WWE just has indy workers compete against WWE talent on their less focused shows such as Velocity & Heat.
