Anybody else see it? It was just on channel 4. Basically it was an in depth look at British Backyard wrestling.
The most suprising thing I found about it was that I still have no respect for Backyarders. I thought that a documentary told from their point of view would show at least a few posative aspects to it, but the kids that do it just seemed total morons.
Some interesting stats from it:
The average age of a Backyarder is 15.
The oldest Backyarder in the UK is 19.
The Biggest Backyard wrestling event of the year is Welshfest which is attended by a staggering 10 people!
The average backyard event costs £30 of paper round money to set up (cost of weapons etc)
There is apparently, nothing shameful about having a fed with only 2 people in it.
On the plus side they showed some footage of a proper training school and some of the students were amazing! They had them running up walls and backflipping off! Crazy!
Only a matter of time before those backyard wrestlers are in the WWE...

LOL
Wasn't this special on a month ago or something? I remember someone posting a big series of angry smilies in response to it or something like that. Might have been King Jericho, but I know it was one of the members who's an actual real wrestler in the UK.

Backyard wrestling = garbage.
Horsing around on your trampoline and seeing if you can do a moonsault = priceless.

Yeah, the oldest is 19 because they all weed themselves out of the gene pool before 20. That's nt a bad thing...That's...a GOOD thing...

I'm not sure which is worse... Stupid backyard wrestlers, or stupid parents who blame backyard wrestling on Vince McMachon instead of looking in the mirror and realizing that if they gave a damn about their own kids then backyard wrestling wouldn't be an issue because the parent would of sat down with the kid and told them that the people on TV know what they're doing!

The parents are worse.
The "wrestlers" are really stupid kids. They likely have trouble dressing on their own. They can't help being too stupid to understand the inherrent risks in crippling each other.
The parents, however, should be expected to know more than a 15 year old who thinks a good time is making his friend bleed by powerbombng him off a roof into barbed wire.
