Buy or Sell- Benoit regaining the WWE title in the forseeable future.

The first half of 2004 represented the apex of Benoit's professional wrestling career. After winning the title at WM, the WWE pushed Benoit to the moon, and for the first time in his career he was seen as a legitimate mainevent draw.

However, since losing the title at SS, Benoit hasn't been in the main event too much. Two weeks ago on Raw Benoit did a CLEAN job to Batista. So, do you buy or sell Benoit ever regaining the title, or was his major title reign just a one-time deal and not likely to happen again?

I don't think it will happen again anytime soon, but he could hold the title once more before the year is out, However I think the WWE will play this year as the Triple H-Batista Year.

I don't think I'd buy that, not at this moment in time.

He can still be a great asset to them and there is so much more that could have been done with him as champ.

He was really only pushed as a main eventer for a couple of months, but in that time he did well. Unfortunately the company was never totally behind him, so its hard to praise or criticize his run.

I think his title win was more of a lifetime achievement award, and in reality he was only put in that position so HHH could have a series of great main event matches.

My gut feeling is that he wont win the World Title again. There's an outside chance that he could get it back if Batista were to completely fail as champ, and they decide they need a quick fix, and go to Benoit, who they know will have nothing but great matches, and the fans will accept as a top guy.

The problem is that he'll never be a top draw because as I said, the company isn't behind him, so the while the fans respect him, they wont go out fo their way to pay to see him like they did for a Rock, Hogan or Austin.

I honestly would mark out if Chris Benoit (by some miracle) wins the Royal Rumble for the second year running and defeats Randy Orton in the WrestleMania main event for the title.

Benoit is the guy the WWE knows is good, and can do jobs but can also get the title back. I would't expect Benoit to get another push towards the title scene until we have a strong heel World Heavyweight Champion other than Triple H.

I don't think Benoit is anywhere near the title right now. I think he's even further down the ladder than Jericho hence his defeat last week on Raw. Look at it this way, Trips HAD to drop the title to him at WMXX, the biggest WM of all-time, and probably resents him for it. I see Benoit/Jericho vs Hassan/Daivari at Wrestlemania on the cards.

I saw nothing wrong with Batista beating Benoit a few weeks ago.

With Batista turning face and probably getting the title, theres an open top heel spot waiting for Benoit.

I can see Benoit and Batista having a good series in the summer, hopefully he could regain the title.

The crippler probably won't get the World Title back anytime soon. With Evolution's break up, he's been completely de-pushed right out of the title scene, and right now he has no angle to go off of. I hope he gets traded back to Smackdown where he can go for the WWE Title and give that some credibility.

Benoit is the greatest wrestler of all time, yet they give it to a guy who is packed with roids (debatable), has a big nose, has average charisma, is ageing, has a bad calf and a body which is not what it was 5 or so years ago, and who is only at the top because he's fucking a dirty, skanky whore (thats what Jericho says at least! :D )

Benoit is awesome as champ, AS LONG as he has clean finishes and is in the FUCKING MAIN EVENT, not just ensuring that Kane will be jobbed once again
