In what has to be good news for WWE, the New Year's Revolution PPV scored a preliminary buyrate of 270,000. That is one of the largest numbers WWE has done for a single-brand PPV in recent memory and proves the Elimination Chamber is still a draw. Being that it was a one-match show, all of those 270,000 buys come from people who believe $34.95 was a fair price for the main-event.

Havent seen this posted yet.. me being one that bought NYR, thats basically what it was a one match show..

270,000? Wow, thats quite a lot.

Of course, this means Triple H is going to think they were buying it to see him regain the belt, so he'll thinks he is a popular champion, so he will have it for ages again.

Well let's just say they'd better deliver a bette rundercard next time, simply because it really let the PPV down. The main event was great, and it is good to see it sell well, but they really shouldn't have Triple H win the next one, or have it be a one match show.

Don't PPV buyrates tend to pick up in the New Year anyway?

so 270,000 paid for a bunch of crap and an elimination chamber match....now if only WWE would of let that of been a great ppv then it might be something to be happy about.

Canadian destroyer? Just looks like a weird powerbomb besides highlighting the fact that its very obvious the opponent has control of 90% of the move. Kinda reminds me of the stratusfaction and the way people overlook the opponent lifting her onto the ropes. :|

That doesn't change the fact the Flipping Piledriver is awesome. :D

I do wish Petey would hit a version wher ehe does a lot of the move (I think he could pull it off, it just wouldn't be as flashy).

I bet the next single brand pay per view buyrates go in the shitter because everyone who purchased New Years Revolution most likely felt ripped the FUCK off and won't buy again. Sadly though the next single brand PPV is a Smack Down one. So when buys suck I bet the WWE will not take into account the fans who turned away after being shafted at the last PPV.

You may ahev a point there. As long as they have some good built-up mid-card matches AS WELL as the rumoured Barbed Wire Cage Match, I think they'll do alright.
