View Full Version : I've been a NFL fan since 88.
I was 10.
My point is...
Man this is so hard for me to say.
The New England Patriots are the best team i've seen since i've been a fan of the NFL. Better then Dallas, San Fran, Greenbay, and Denver.
I've never seen a team go from one week holding the best offense in the league and maybe ever to 3 points. Then putting 41 points on the Best defense in the league. When you have that kind of range. Your simply the best in my opinion. Your coach is a certified genious. Your qb is a poster child for winning titles. Your defense is hard nosed never give up never say die always make the big plays defense. You have atleast 8-9 future hall of famers on the team when its all said and done. The Patriots are simply put ... The best i've ever seen.
Which makes it all the more fufilling when my Colts beat you guys next year.
Thats about as much of a compliment towards the Patriots you'll ever see out of me.

Close between them, San Fran, and Dallas...going by the dates since you've been watching.
But, yes, thanks for pointing out the obvious in that they are an awesome team.
Blah...just tired of it

The Pats lost to the Dolphins, so a great D can stop them. The thing with the Steelers D is that it is very high risk, and they lost with all those passes deep. Eagles D is not as efficient at totally containing a team, but they will stop the big plays.

I agree with Heyman completely, the way the Patriots play, the guys that they have on their team, and the attitude that they have on and off the field make them impossible for me to hate them.
O no dont get me wrong. I still hate them with a passion. I'm just saying. Like the a previous post said, they are just CLEARLY a far superior team then anyone in the NFL. Dallas maybe was better, but i think it will be a intresting argument if the Patriots win the Superbowl this year. I mean when you look back on the past 2 season. They have clearly dominated the whole league. They have beat there closest competition atleast once and in my teams case (x4). And there gunna probably beat the Eagles too. Though I get the feeling this once might be everybit as good as last years game. I'm rooting for Eagles but i wont be man if the Patriots win. The NFL needs the Patriots right now. Cause when you have a team so dominant for 4-5 years. Its build up intrest in story cause then you get Plot lines like this year when everyone wants to know if Manning can beat the Patriots. Can the Defense survive injuries to conquer the Greatest Offense.
What has made this years playoffs to me is Plot Lines. Eagles finally getting over the hump. Jets playing a 3rd over time game in as many weeks.

By the way, the Cowboys of the early 90's are the greatest team of all time. I think the Pats are definately top 5 though. Especially if they win another Super Bowl.

90's Cowboys, todays Pats, 80's 49'ers, 70's Steelers are the top 4 I think of.
I dunno, I'd have to go w/ the Steelers... they had like an all pro at every position on Defense. Plus a solid offense.

I can't really think of who the Patriots have played in the regular season, but have they faced a secondary like Philadelphia has?
If so, how did they do? :o
Seeing as how not even Indy could burn the Patriots so-called depleted secondary, the Eagles probably won't either, but i'm interested to see the matchup between the Philly defense and the Patriots offense. :o
Well the Steelers were suppose to be the #1 defense in the league. They crushed them. They played Buffalo twice and all stats aside Buffalo might be the best defense in the league. And i'm not positive on this but i believe they played Baltimore also. So i doubt the Eagles will show the Patriots anything they havent already seen.

yeah, bills x2, steelers in post season, raverns, jets x2, dolphins x2 (only 1win)... they played a lot of good D's.
Philly does have a great secondary, but the pats game really isn't built on big play WR's...
I think it's going to be a good game. I just can't see philly pulling this out.
As I said before, I think the Pats key on Westbrook, TO wont be 100%, Mitchel drops balls and Pinkston has aligator arms which will get even shorter w/ the Pats hard hitting secondary.
That being said, McNabb's ability to stay in the pocket and make decisions may give his WR's a chance to break way form the Pats zones.
Manning isn't mobile, there offense is built on quick release and timing. McNabb can last longer and give his WR a chance to make things happen.

I have to give much respect to the Patriots, because even though it's been said over and over again in the media, in the days of parity in the league no team should have a dynasty. But the Pats do. They are pretty much unstoppable.
I want to see where the go in the next couple of years though...

Well, next year Law is probably gone... he'll have 2 possible 3 rings and the Pats wont give him the money, so I can see him going elsewhere.
The TE they drafted will be healthy, I think they reach a point they don't carry 3 TE's making good money, I'd see Fauria being a casulty or a possible trade.
They already have Redman under contract so I'd assume Rohan Davie is gone, he might have gotten a 3rd round pick last year after he won the world bowl and was mvp, but his little playing time in the NFL has looked horrible.
I also think at some point down the road Dillon decided he wants top 5 RB money and when that happens he's gone.
Until his switch to DB, I could have seen Troy Brown gone, he's lost a step at WR and is one of the higher paid, but now I don't see it.
and speaking of DB, I'd assume Tyrone Poole is also gone.
