DISCUSSION - Should their be a MIXED tag team division (different from BDC's thread)
I got this idea after reading BDC's thread.
Should there be a mixed tag team division? (i.e. One guy, one girl = tag team).
Take this into consideration:
-The current tag team division is fairly weak
-There are a lot of hot women in the WWE right now, who don't really have an angle.
-The WWE could use something new.
-Just as RAW and Smackdown are somewhat 'distinct' from one another due to one show having a CW division and other having a women's division, a thing like this could help further add to that distinction (i.e. RAW could have the "mixed" tag division, while SD could be reserved for the 'normal' tag teams.........or vice versa).
-Having a HOT chick like Stacy Kiebler or Christy Hemme being constantly aligned with her male partner in the tag division, could help that guy get 'over' more.
On RAW right now, the women's division seems to be dying down. Trish and Lita seem to be the only real contenders right now. Molly and Victoria are kinda being pissed away.
After Wrestlemania if there's another draft, perhaps more chicks can move to one of the shows, while more "normal tag team specialists" can move to the show with the male tag team division.

Cancel the Women's Division if the "Mixed" Tag team division goes into effect?
I'd strongly consider doing that.
That way - there wouldn't be "overkill" with too many many women getting air time (women's title match + mixed tag team title match = :| ).
I know a lot of people on here won't like this idea, but I still like the idea of the 24/7 Hardcore title division being brought back.
A) It serves as a decent (and humorous at times) side storyline
B) It serves as a pretext in getting more wrestlers air-time.
Smackdown
-WWE title
-U.S. title
-Tag team division
-Cruiserweight title
RAW
-World title
-IC title
-Mixed tag team division
-Hardcore title.

Potential Teams (just off the top of my head)
-Kane and Lita Jacobs. :shifty:
-Randy Orton and Stacy Kiebler
-Stevie Richards and Victoria
-Gene Snitksy and Trish Stratus
-Eugene and Christy Hemme
-Christian and Molly Holly
-etc
Over on Smackdown (if they put the division there).
-Cabinet member and Amy
-Big Show and Joy
-RVD and that fitness guru chick
-Billy Kidman and Torrie Wilson (this could help Kidman's career)
-Charlie Hass and Dawn Marie
-etc.
I like the overall IDEA of this, because it gives more women a "meaningful" role, while potentially helping certain wrestlers who aren't 'over' (i.e. perhaps someone like Kidman). It would be a NEW idea, but it could also be decent from a storyline/drama perspective. With an intergender tag division, you know that there's going to be some "soapy" stuff.......stuff that often appeals to NON wrestling fans (who may get hooked upon seeing something like this?).

I think the idea could be good, but I don't think they should scrap the Women's Division. Maybe have the Mixed Tag Team Champions appear on both brands?

Yeah - I guess if the Women's title stayed on RAW, then SD could get the mixed tag team division thingy.

I'm worried you're all overlooking the fact most of the women in the WWE cannot wrestle. With the fine exceptions of just a few, notably Lita, Tirsh, Molly and Victoria, the rest are eye candy.
So, a mixed-tag division would ultimately suck. The ring work would be sloppy and i can see so many 'you stole my man (tag partner) you slut' feuds that I'd have to throw my shoe at the t.v.

I see what you're saying. Truth be told, I didn't overlook that fact....I took it into consideration.
What a "mixed tag team" division would do, would allow the 'male representatives' to wrestle most of the time (and thus - putting more attention on them).
The women would serve as "eye-candy", but they'd have the odd 'catfight' when they get tagged in (or can fight a bit on the outside).
In my opinion, using the women in this way would be MUCH better than having them do "pillow fights" and pointless segments backstage.
As far as the soapy stuff is concerned, I think it could attract non-wrestling fans.....and help lure them in (if the soapy stuff is used wisely and in moderation).
The way things look now, there could be a LOT of potential "mixed" tag teams. The current 'normal' tag team divisions (on both shows), don't have much depth.

I actually came up with this idea also but back during the "McMahon-Helmsley Era" It was when Steph had the Woman's Title and Trips had the Heavyweight. The amount of teams seemed just about endless.
HHH & Steph
Rock & Trish
Matt Hardy & Lita
Hurricane & Mighty Molly
Steven Richards & Ivory (RTC)
etc.

I'd be the biggest Eugene/Christy mark EVER :D ! ...But, please, in the name of all that is good and decent... No pregnancy angle. That would make me a sad panda.
