"BBC Radio 1 "Rock Show" has reportedly announced that SLIPKNOT will be appearing at this year's Download Festival in Donington, U.K. SYSTEM OF A DOWN have already confirmed their participation in the festival, which will take place over the weekend of June 11-12. An official announcement regarding this year's lineup is expected to be made on February 2."

"VirtualFestivals.com has issued the following report:

"Following news that BLACK SABBATH will be playing at the Roskilde festival in Denmark, there's talk that Ozzy Osbourne and the rest of the band's original line-up could be coming to Download too!

"The announcement confirms that BLACK SABBATH will be on the European festival circuit this summer and means they will be likely to play a UK date. There's be no better suited festival in this country than Download!

"SYSTEM OF A DOWN have already confirmed they will be playing the Sunday night, so we predict that BLACK SABBATH could fill the Saturday evening slot.

"VF also has reason to believe that VELVET REVOLVER will be playing at the festival, possibly supporting one of the headline acts. After all Donington Park is where GUNS N' ROSES put themselves on the map back in 1988! (back then at the Monsters Of Rock festival.)

"Other strong rumours doing the rounds concerning this year's Download line-up include MÖTLEY CRÜE, THE DATSUNS, THE PRODIGY, MARILYN MANSON, GREEN DAY, IRON MAIDEN, INCUBUS, SLIPKNOT, H.I.M., ASH, and outside bet AC/DC.

"In 2004, METALLICA and LINKIN PARK headlined the 60,000-capacity rock festival.

"Download 2005 takes place at Donington Park, <s>Derbyshire</s> Leicestershire , on 11-12 June. It is believed that tickets will go on sale to Download members in early February.""

Both from Blabbermouth.net

It would be great if Black Sabbath played it, but given the Ozzfest 2004 reviews, I doubt their ability to headline Donington. I was really hoping on AC/DC too.

According to VirtualFestivals.com, organizers of this year's Download festival in the U.K. are planning to turn the rock festival into a three-day event, incorporating a more "indie" theme on the Friday and an Ozzfest day on the Saturday.

Having previously programmed only Saturday and Sunday, the proposed expansion would make 2005 the biggest Download ever — with both weekend and day tickets being sold for the 60,000-capacity Donington Park event.

At present, the festival is scheduled to take place on the weekend of June 11-12, but organizers are hoping to run the event on Friday 10th as well. It is believed that FEEDER have been approached to headline that day.

However, a Download organizer told VF that nothing has been confirmed yet, and said that the Friday would only go ahead if the right kind of bands agree to play.

She confirmed that the Ozzfest day would go ahead, with Ozzy Osbourne selecting the bands to play on that day — giving further weight to reports that his band BLACK SABBATH will be headlining.

Other strong rumors doing the rounds include VELVET REVOLVER, MÖTLEY CRÜE, THE DATSUNS, THE PRODIGY, MARILYN MANSON, and GREEN DAY.

SYSTEM OF A DOWN have revealed via their own web site that they will be playing on the Sunday, which is expected to be a more traditional metal lineup.

Download 2005 takes place at Donington Park, Derbyshire, on June 11-12 June (and possibly June 10). It is believed that tickets will go on sale in February.

Fucking idiots, they turn Donington into more of a Leeds/Reading every fucking year.

I would guess Marilyn Manson is gonna play on the Sunday. He's doing Festival dates around that time, and has the Sunday off, maybe play Download and do a gig in London or something.

Marilyn has been talking alot lately about the band finishing, as if it's ran it's time. Plus the release of a greatest hits album further added to the band finishing.
I know he recently added a new memeber but the feeling that I'm getting from him is that this could be the last tour.
