Yeah. What the title says.
EDIT- Oh. I had this pointed out to me and should clarify. Obviously a WWII movie is based on an actual event, that being WWII. I meant a WWII movie that isn't based on something that actually happened in WWII like a battle or a great escape or something like that. Yeah. Something fictional within this non-fictional war.

Enemy at the Gates isn’t too bad….not so much based around fact but not a bad image of The Battle for Stalingrad, though there was such a sniper….no such sniper battle too place (that’s is known of anyways) Its pretty good.
Hummm…..If you want stuff based on fact your pushing it, if you want rough action movies based around the idea of WW2 there is plenty, rent just about any movie based around WW2, chances are, while named after a battle or something like that it’s a load of crap or while apparently based around fact, fact is pushed so thin it may as well be fiction.
I suggest you watch Band of Brothers, while generally based pretty well on memories of the veterans. It’s a bloody good watch (10 x roughly 1 hour long episodes)
Anyways, take a look at this website http://www.continuitycorner.com/Genre/ww2.htm
Might get some ideas there.

No.
Similar events happened, in which somone had to be found and sent home or whatever. But to my knowledge it wasn't a true story.
Well, cept for D-Day of course.

Yeah, I just got this essay for uni coming upand I chose to do the topic on comparing two movies basedon the same historical time period.
So I thought I'd get a movie from WWII based on actual events and show how they warp and twist the event, and then a WWII movie not based on anything that actually happened and show how it basically does the same things. And whatnot.
You help is much appreciated. I thank you.

What was that movie with Harrison Ford when they blew up that dam. I don't think that was based on a real event.
